Abstract

The trend of using fixed broadband internet has resulted in increasing competition among internet business sector providers. Link Net as one of the affected companies conducted several communication strategies to surpass competitors in gaining market share levels. To ensure the success of this strategy, Link Net worked closely with Praxis in implementing a media relations strategy to generate positive news publications. However, Link Net's highest level of publication in the mass media is in fact not directly proportional to the level of market share among competitors. The purpose of this research is to find out the media relations strategy used by Praxis to generate positive news publications for Link Net amid competitors along with its objectives and implementation process. The research used a case study method with a qualitative approach. Research data were obtained through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results showed that Praxis' media relations strategy is divided into three, namely media event, relationship management, and relationship development. These three strategies are carried out to achieve three specific objectives, which is to convey public information, obtain high credibility marketing, and resolve crises. The implementation of Praxis' media relations strategy is carried out through research, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Overall, Praxis' media relations strategy has been carried out ideally. However, there is still room for development for Praxis to implement strategies more creatively, maximize value, and complete technical aspects, such as standardizing SOPs and division of labor for each team member, so that the resulting publications can have a significant influence on Link Net's market share level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan perilaku inovatif Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) di Desa Kuala Bubon. Penelitian ini menggambarkan bagaimana UMKM tersebut mencoba berinovasi dengan banyaknya hambatan dan keterbatasan. Mereka juga mengalami kegagalan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital. Kegagalan ini disebabkan tidak adanya permbinaan jangka panjang dalam perubahan digital dan inovasi pada UMKM. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan deskriptif mengarah pada perumusan masalah yang membimbing penelitian untuk menggali atau menggambarkan situasi sosial yang akan diteliti secara menyeluruh, mendalam, dan luas pada UMKM ikan asin di Aceh Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan dan respon sistem internal mempengaruhi inovasi dan perubahan teknologi digital pada UMKM. Perilaku inovatif UMKM dipengaruhi oleh komunikasi tercangkup dalam dukungan pemerintan, dunia usaha, dan sektor pendidikan tinggi serta masyarakat lokal. Permasalahan lainnya yang masih terlihat adalah kurangnya integrasi dan sinergi berbagai elemen ekosistem UMKM digital untuk menjamin pembangunan berkelanjutan di masa depan.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk memahami dan mengetahui bagaimana strategi komunikasi pemasaran yang digunakan oleh Badan Pengelola Geopark Ranah Minang dalam mempromosikan pariwisata Geopark Silokek di Kabupaten Sijunjung, Sumatra Barat. Untuk menjawab tujuan maka Peneliti menggunakan 5 teori perencanaan komunikasi pemasaran, diantaranya: Penetapan Tujuan, Penetapan Sasaran, Pesan dan Media, Promotional Mix, Evaluasi. Dalam penelitian ini Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, dan observasi non-partisipan. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah teknik sampling snowball. Uji Keabsahan Data menggunakan triangulasi sumber, dan member check. Teknik analisis data peneliti menggunakan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penetapan tujuan pemasaran meliputi bidang edukasi yaitu program "geopark goes to school", dan bidang wisata yaitu mendongkrak perekonomian masyarakat lokal, khalayak sasaran menargetkan pengunjung umum domestik dan pengunjung kelompok edukatif pesan dan media, pesan berupa keunikan geologi wisata dan media menggunakan Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok. Promotional mix, seperti periklanan menampilkan video trone, personal selling, contohnya guide lokal untuk membantu para wisatawan. Promosi penjualan, menyediakan voucher bagi yang booking perjalanan di blibli.com. hubungan masyarakat, mengadakan pameran dan festival budaya. Evaluasi dilakukan setelah mengadakan even untuk menilai efektifitas. Kesimpulan Penelitian adalah: Strategi komunikasi pemasaran Badan Pengelola Geopark Ranah Minang dalam mempromosikan Geopark Silokek di Sijunjung berhasil menarik perhatian wisatawan domestik dan kelompok edukatif melalui kombinasi media digital, media luar ruang, kerjasama media lokal, serta melibatkan komunitas, namun tantangan masih ada dalam peningkatan infrastruktur dan fasilitas pendukung pariwisata.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif diskriptif dengan metode yang digunakan studi kasus di ANTV. Teori yang digunakan adalah David Hesmondhalgh dan Sarah Baker dalam buku The Political Economy of Communications. Fokus penelitian adalah aspek ekonomi dan politik dalam media menurut pandangan tradisi budaya. Tujuan penelitian ialah menganalisa dan mengetahui dampak  terjadinya pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK) di ANTV. Temuan penelitian adalah, sistem digital yang diinisiasi pemerintah membuat ANTV di beberapa daerah tidak dapat diakses, sehingga banyak pengiklan menarik diri. Akibatnya, pendapatan Perusahaan menurun karena biaya produksi tetap bahkan cenderung tinggi. Untuk mengurangi beban biaya, perusahaan melakukan PHK sekitar 300 karyawan Divisi News. Faktor lain yang membuat terjadinya PHK adalah ANTV tidak siap mengantisipasi sistem digitalisasi, karena besarnya biaya untuk beralih ke sistem digital di tengah kondisi keuangan perusahaan yang kurang baik, serta adanya Pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

This study explores the use of nostalgia aesthetics in contemporary music as a strategic communication tool in the postmodern era, with a focus on the works of Diskoria. Rooted in postmodern theory, particularly the concept of pastiche and intertextuality, this research examines how these frameworks support the integration of retro elements from the 1970s and 1980s into modern music and visuals to create emotional resonance across generations. The primary objective is to understand how nostalgia functions as a medium for cultural identity and audience engagement. Using a qualitative constructivist approach, this study employs textual and visual analysis on Diskoria’s song lyrics and official music videos. Data triangulation, through comparisons with relevant literature and references, ensures the reliability of findings. The analysis focuses on the manifestation of nostalgic aesthetics and their role in communication strategies. The findings reveal that nostalgia effectively strengthens emotional connections between audiences and cultural narratives of the past. Diskoria’s strategic use of retro elements, such as pastiche and intertextual references, bridges generational gaps while fostering a unique identity within the dynamics of postmodern media. Compared to previous research, this study highlights how nostalgia aesthetics amplify cross-generational appeal and reinforce cultural identity in a globalized music landscape. Nostalgia aesthetics not only enhance the artistic value of music but also operate as a communication strategy that fosters cultural connections and broadens audience engagement, demonstrating their relevance in the field of communication studies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the educational slogan "Embrace Your Passion, Prepare Your Future" on student creativity at SMAK PENABUR Summarecon Bekasi. This slogan is implemented as part of the school's philosophy, encouraging students to recognize and develop their passions while preparing for a future full of innovation. The research employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using Smart PLS 3.0 software. The results show that the educational slogan has a positive and significant effect on student creativity, with a P-value smaller than 0.05 and T-statistics exceeding the significant threshold. The study also finds that a supportive educational environment plays a crucial role in fostering students' creativity. Therefore, this research recommends that schools create a balance between academic achievement and creativity development by implementing programs that encourage interest exploration and innovation, both inside and outside the classroom. These findings highlight the importance of applying educational slogans as a tool to motivate students in reaching their creative potential, which is highly relevant to the dynamic and competitive demands of the modern workforce.

Abstract

The study aims to analyse the message content of Prabowo Subianto's news coverage. Prabowo Subianto's news coverage was chosen because news coverage often has biased political language. Message content analysis was conducted so that readers can receive the message that the media actually wanted to convey regarding Prabowo Subianto as the presidential candidate for Indonesia's Replubik for the 2024 to 2029 period. This analysis compared two online media, namely Kompas.com and Tempo.com. These two media outlets were chosen because they were able to compare media outlets that were biased towards the object of the news, namely Prabowo Subianto. One of the media is considered to have partiality. Content analysis can show whether a news story is positive or negative towards the object of the news that will be conveyed to the audience. From this analysis, it was found that Kompas.com often reported Prabowo Subianto in its news portal, and the tendency of its news content to give a positive message. Tempo.com news portal did not cover Prabowo as often, and the news tended to be neutral and sometimes provided criticism, giving a negative impact on Prabowo Subianto. As a result of the analysis, it is hoped that Indonesian online media should be more in favour of the public in reporting the truth, so that the Indonesian people will not choose the wrong president for the next 5 years. This research is still limited to two media outlets and has not analysed the other media outlets.

Abstract

Media ownership is a discussion that has always existed at any time. It is interesting to discuss because the theory is related to economics and politics. The diversity of perspectives is valuable as a bridge to society in consuming media information. Of course, it should be given freedom of space and access to concrete facts, instead of being confronted with the interests of power through capital owners to regulate the rotation of media issues according to the ruler's goals. The study in this research will discuss the influence of media ownership on the diversity of information and public perspectives in modern Indonesian society. The concentration of media ownership focuses on limiting the diversity of perspectives in a modern society that is instantaneous to obtain information, restrictions for reasons of political and industrial interests, the tendency of media ownership will be seen as domination. Using a qualitative approach and literature study, this research will analyze data from various sources to identify the impact of concentration of media ownership on access to public information, representation of the interests of various groups, and the role of the media as an information bridge. The results show that the concentration of media ownership creates a less diverse and less representative media ecosystem. This has a negative impact on the quality of democracy and people's ability to make rational decisions. By limiting the diversity of perspectives, concentration of media ownership creates a narrower and less inclusive public sphere.

Abstract

Customer service from various providers now integrates artificial intelligence, allowing users to access assistance anytime, 24/7. This study explores human-machine interaction through the lens of the Media Equation theory. The primary focus is to analyze the message content from three AI-powered virtual assistants: Maira from MyRepublic, Veronika from Telkomsel, and Maya from XLCare. Using a qualitative approach, this research examines text-based conversations between users and chatbots to understand how these AI systems engage with customers. The findings reveal that the chatbots, personified with female identities Maira, Veronika, and Maya are designed to exhibit human-like characteristics, making interactions feel more natural. This study highlights how human communication with AI can mirror interpersonal relationships. However, further research is needed to explore how chatbot-driven interactions align with the Media Equation theory, particularly in measuring user satisfaction.

Abstract

The advent of the digital era has precipitated substantial challenges and opportunities for radio broadcasters to navigate the evolving digital media landscape. This study undertakes a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of radio broadcasters' roles in response to the intense competition from digital media platforms. Utilising a qualitative research methodology, this study employs a comprehensive approach that incorporates literature review, observational studies, and document analysis. It examines the transformative impact of digital technology on the operational dynamics of radio broadcasters, novel challenges and opportunities they encounter, and strategic measures they employ to maintain relevance and attract listeners. These findings indicate that successful radio broadcasters employ digital technology to extend their reach, cultivate robust listener communities, and facilitate customised listening experiences. These broadcasters have adopted digital platforms including online streaming, podcasts, and social media to interact with their audiences. Concurrently, radio broadcasters are acquiring new competencies in digital content production, data analytics, and multimedia to adapt to evolving media landscapes. Nevertheless, challenges persist, including intensified competition, fragmented audiences, and the need for sustainable digital business models. To thrive in the digital era, radio broadcasters must adopt audience-centric strategies, create unique and engaging content, and innovate continuously. The findings of this study contribute to the theoretical and practical understanding of the evolving roles of radio broadcasters, and provide insights for the future development of the radio broadcasting industry in the digital age.
