Abstract

Preeclampsia accounts for approximately 58.1% of the 585,000 maternal deaths that occur worldwide each year during pregnancy and childbirth, while eclampsia ranks as the second leading cause of maternal death, accounting for 26.9% of cases in 2012 and 27.1% in 2013. This community service project aimed to increase knowledge and awareness regarding preeclampsia among health cadres at the Sukodono Sidoarjo Public Health Center. The activity was carried out through counseling sessions as the main method of community education. The target participants were posyandu cadres who play a vital role in maternal and child health promotion. Based on data obtained from pre-test and post-test questionnaires, participants’ comprehension levels prior to counseling were 22% in the good category, 61% sufficient, and 17% poor. After the counseling, the results showed a significant improvement, with 76% of participants in the good category, 24% sufficient, and 0% poor. These findings indicate that counseling activities effectively improved cadres’ understanding of preeclampsia. Strengthening cadre knowledge through continuous education is essential to help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.

Abstract

The Drangrang farmer group’s agricultural garden, located at RT10 RW03, Tirtajaya Village, Sukmajaya District, Depok, covers an area of approximately 1,500 m². The land is used to cultivate vegetables and crops such as corn, peanuts, and cucumbers. Electricity for agricultural operations is supplied by a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) with an initial capacity of 100 Wp. However, along with land expansion and increased load demand, the existing PLTS system could no longer meet energy needs, requiring a capacity upgrade. This community service activity aimed to provide technical assistance for the installation of additional solar panels to increase the PLTS capacity and fulfill electricity requirements for lighting and water pumps. The method included equipment procurement, system assembly in the garden area, and PLTS testing. The activity was carried out by lecturers and students from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Gunadarma University. The stages consisted of design, installation, testing, and measurement. The upgraded PLTS system now provides 200 Wp, capable of supplying four lighting points and one 160 W water pump. The additional capacity ensures a safer and more continuous power supply, supporting improved agricultural productivity and operational efficiency of the farmer group.

Abstract

Bejiharjo Tourism Village, located in Karangmojo Subdistrict, Gunungkidul Regency, possesses significant natural and cultural tourism potential. However, limited capacity among local business actors in utilizing digital marketing has hindered the optimal promotion of tourism products. Properly managed, this tourism potential could drive various aspects of community development, particularly in the economic sector, and contribute to local welfare. Effective tourism management relies on the ability of managers to package and present these potentials in ways that positively support community empowerment in Bejiharjo Village. In response to this condition, a community service program was implemented with the theme of enhancing the digital marketing skills of local business actors. The objective was to raise awareness and improve the ability of these actors to utilize digital marketing for promoting tourism products, an increasingly vital skill in the context of global competition. The program was carried out through planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages. Training employed adult learning methods, combining lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice, with a focus on social media-based promotion strategies. The results indicated high participant enthusiasm during training and mentoring sessions, improved understanding of digital platforms, and greater awareness of the importance of technology-based marketing. Some participants began applying social media management to promote their products, although further assistance remains necessary. This program demonstrates that digital marketing training can serve as an effective strategy to strengthen the marketing capacity of tourism village entrepreneurs, ultimately contributing to tourism development and the improvement of local community welfare.

Abstract

Posyandu is a village level of health service that plays a role in improving public health, especially maternal and child health. The existence of posyandu makes an easier access for the community to  basic health services without having to travel long distances. However, the implementation of posyandu still faces various challenges, especially in how low the level of community participation is. Community empowerment with “SIGAP (Sosialisasi Gerakan Aktif Posyandu)” and “Play Corner” programs aims to increase infant and toddler visits to Posyandu Mayang Wangi through cadre empowerment and community education. The methods used include problem awareness through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), socialization planning and implementation, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test. This socialization was carried out by posyandu cadres and public health faculty students as facilitators. The socialization provided information on the importance of visiting the posyandu and nutritional problems in toddlers, as well as a "play corner" to attract children. The enthusiasm of the participants in the discussion session and evaluation through pre-test and post-test showed an improvement in knowledge of the participants, which reflected the effectiveness of the socialization presented by the cadres. The provision of a "play corner" also improved the skills and creativity of cadres in creating educational game media from used goods. This activity succeeded in building community awareness and concern for the importance of posyandu, as well as successfully empowering cadres in raising community awareness of maternal and child health.

Abstract

This community service activity (PkM) aims to empower students at the Mamba'ul Huda Kaliabu Islamic Boarding School through training on the use of CorelDRAW software to support the development of entrepreneurial skills known as santripreneurship. The program is motivated by the rapid advancement of information technology and digitalization, which has transformed the creative industry and increased the demand for graphic design skills. Adapting to digital transformation, particularly in producing promotional materials and visual identities, it is essential for Islamic boarding schools to develop graduates who are not only strong in religious knowledge but also competitive in the job market and technology-based entrepreneurial opportunities. This program applies an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach by identifying and utilizing local assets, including supporting facilities such as computers, laptops, projectors, internet access, alumni support with expertise in graphic design, and potential student resources. Training is conducted through interactive lectures, hands-on practice, and project-based learning, covering basic design concepts, the operation of CorelDRAW, and its application in the creation of logos, posters, and digital marketing materials. The results show a significant improvement in mastery of design tools and techniques, allowing them to produce marketable products and offer design services to the surrounding community. Collaborative support from alumni and working groups enriches the learning process. The impact of this program is reflected in the increase in creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurial motivation of students. This program shows that skills-based training with the ABCD approach effectively builds students' independence and entrepreneurial abilities in the digital economy era.

Abstract

The interest of the Indonesian people in continuing their education to higher education levels is still relatively low, at only 6.68% of the total population of Indonesia (18.7/280 million people). Lampung is one of the provinces facing this issue, with data from 2023 showing that 77.36% of high school graduates in Lampung Province do not continue their education to higher education levels. Ringin Jaya Village is one of many villages in Lampung Province where students have a low interest in continuing their education to higher education levels. The main factors causing this are the limited number of schools, the family's economic conditions, and the lack of understanding regarding the importance of higher education. However, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Article 31 Paragraph 1 mandates that "every citizen has the right to education." Therefore, based on these issues and mandates, the implementation of community service in the form of socializing the importance of continuing higher education is a service program that needs to be carried out. This socialization aims to provide students with an understanding of the importance of continuing higher education, including the various benefits they will gain by pursuing higher education. In addition, this socialization also provides information about scholarship opportunities that can help them reduce the costs of higher education. Through this service, it is hoped that students can be motivated to continue their education to higher education levels. The results of the community service show an increase in students' knowledge about the benefits and importance of continuing higher education. This increase in knowledge helps them to enhance their motivation to continue their education up to the higher education level. Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology requires religious educational institutions to adapt to changes in service delivery, including counseling practices. In Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), counseling activities are still predominantly conducted through conventional approaches and have not fully utilized the potential of digital media. Based on this condition, this community service program aims to promote the digital transformation of counseling practices through the utilization of virtual platforms using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The program was implemented at Pondok Pesantren An-Nida, Cirebon City, through three main stages: observation, implementation, and participatory reflection. The observation stage was used to identify digital readiness and institutional needs, the implementation stage involved digital literacy training and virtual counseling simulations, and the reflection stage evaluated program effectiveness. The results indicate improved understanding, empathic communication skills, and awareness of digital ethics and privacy. The participatory approach proved effective in strengthening institutional collaboration and developing an adaptive cyber culture. This program demonstrates that digital transformation within Islamic boarding schools can harmoniously align with religious and ethical values when developed through collaborative, reflective, and sustainable processes.

Abstract

Serang Regency, covering 170,341.25 ha and consisting of 29 districts, has great potential for aquaculture development, including freshwater, brackish water, and marine farming. The post-pandemic economic condition has affected freshwater fish farmers in Bugel Village, Padarincang District, with a significant decline in both seed and consumption fish sales—up to 80%. The current marketing system still relies on word-of-mouth and WhatsApp status, resulting in limited market access. This community service activity aims to enhance the marketing of fish farming products among P2MKP Tambakan partners. The main activities include developing a web-based e-commerce platform and conducting branding training for partners. The methods used consist of institutional and participatory approaches, discussions, and training sessions. The developed e-commerce system can be accessed through www.tambakanfish.com. Socialization and training were implemented to improve partners’ digital marketing capacity. From five partner respondents, there was a significant increase in understanding of the e-commerce system and product photography techniques, from an average pre-training score of 51.5 to 85.1 post-training. Additionally, sales turnover increased by 12% in October and 18% in November. The results indicate that digitalization supports improved marketing performance and sales. In the future, partnerships with government and private sectors are expected to expand marketing networks through local exhibitions and bazaars.

Abstract

Mental health has become an important aspect in the strategic efforts to develop public health in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. The physical, socio-economic, cultural, and societal structural conditions contribute to the emergence of various psychological issues within the community. The main mental health problems may stem from a lack of public understanding about mental health issues, the presence of negative stigma surrounding mental disorders, and the unequal distribution of mental health services. This indicates the need for community knowledge-based programs to enhance public participation in mental health initiatives. Therefore, this activity aimed to improve the knowledge of the residents of Cijambe Village to foster a better understanding of mental health, as well as the prevention and management of mental health problems. The community service activity was conducted in the form of health education using a lecture method supported by PowerPoint media. The health education activity was attended by 37 residents of Cijambe Village, Paseh Sub-district, Sumedang Regency, West Java. The results of the knowledge level assessment showed an increase in participants’ average knowledge scores before and after the health education, from the "less" category (43%) to the "sufficient" category (57%), based on Arikunto’s knowledge level measurement scale. This health education activity achieved an outcome in the form of increased community knowledge regarding mental health as a result of the education provided. Thus, increasing public knowledge through mental health education can strengthen community participation in the prevention and handling of mental health issues at the community level.
