Abstract

Strengthening the local economy through the active role of the Women Farmers Group (KTW) by improving digital marketing technology skills is an effective strategy for developing rural MSMEs. Sidodadi Village in Malang Regency has several key agricultural commodities such as bananas, cassava, and corn, which are mostly processed and marketed by women’s MSME groups. However, several challenges remain, including limited institutional management capacity, lack of knowledge about digital marketing technology, and restricted market access, making it difficult for MSMEs to compete. This community service aims to assist the Women Farmers Group in improving institutional management capacity and digital marketing skills through training and mentoring activities. The program was conducted in Sidodadi Village using survey, socialization, and training methods, followed by evaluation. The evaluation results show that participants were enthusiastic, actively involved, and demonstrated improved understanding and skills in using digital marketing tools. The activity successfully encouraged the group to optimize digital marketing for the sustainable growth of rural MSMEs. Therefore, this service is expected to increase the efficiency of agricultural product marketing and positively impact community welfare and income.

Abstract

This Community Service Program was implemented at Madrasah Aliyah Diniyah Puteri Pekanbaru, located at Jalan KH. Ahmad Dahlan No. 100, Kampung Melayu, Kec. Sukajadi. This program aims to provide training to MA students on the use of video-based inflectional morphemes.The program was motivated by the problem of students who had difficulty understanding and using inflectional morphemes, a linguistic skill that is crucial for improving the accuracy of English reading comprehension. In the context of English as a foreign language (EFL) education in Indonesia, limited exposure to authentic English usage and insufficient emphasis on morphology instruction often hinder students' fluency and accuracy in reading. Mastery of morphological structures, particularly inflectional morphemes, is a crucial foundation for interpreting grammatical meaning and improving overall communication skills. The training participants were 29 Grade 11 science students with low initial comprehension scores based on pre-test results. The training was conducted using discussion and demonstration methods supported by instructional videos containing explanations, examples, and applications of inflectional morphemes in sentence contexts. The activity was carried out in three stages: observation, implementation, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed a significant increase in the average score, from 45.5 before the training to 67.7 after the training. In addition to academic improvement, this program also encouraged student engagement, increased confidence in using English, and fostered active participation in class discussions. These findings confirm that integrating educational videos into English language instruction can effectively enhance understanding of morphological concepts and their application in reading, writing, and real-world communication.

Abstract

Cesarean delivery is associated with complications in pregnant women, including pelvic floor disorders. Kegel exercises can help maintain pelvic floor health and support normal delivery. This community service activity aimed to provide education on pelvic floor health and Kegel exercises to empower pregnant women at Pucang Sewu Public Health Center, Surabaya, in 2024. The program was conducted in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Preparation involved coordination, planning, and developing a physical activity book for pregnant women. The implementation phase included education sessions and Kegel exercise training using a two-way communication method. Evaluation was conducted through pretest–posttest and observation of participants’ practice skills. The activity was attended by 27 pregnant women and 10 healthcare workers. The results showed increased knowledge and skills among participants after the training, indicated by higher posttest scores and active participation during practice. More than half of the participants had never exercised regularly before. This program effectively improved participants’ understanding and ability to perform Kegel exercises. The health center is expected to continue providing education to encourage pregnant women to practice Kegel exercises independently at home.

Abstract

MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) play a crucial role in the economy, particularly by creating job opportunities and fostering innovation that supports economic growth in both rural and urban areas. However, MSMEs often face classic challenges, such as low-quality human resources, limited technological adaptation, lack of access to capital information, and insufficient understanding of financial reporting. Capital is a critical factor, as business sustainability can be jeopardized without adequate access to funding. The MSME Sanjaya Teknik faces two main issues: a lack of financial literacy and the use of unsystematic methods for determining product selling prices. To address these issues, the team provided solutions through socialization and training on financial literacy, selling price calculations based on COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), and financial record-keeping. These activities were carried out in Ngingas District, Sidoarjo, using lectures, training sessions, and evaluations. The program comprised three phases: surveys and interviews, socialization and training sessions, and evaluations. As a result, Sanjaya Teknik's MSME owners now understand the importance of separating personal and business finances, maintaining structured financial records, and accurately determining product selling prices using Cost-Plus Pricing and Mark-Up Pricing methods. This initiative successfully enhanced the awareness of MSME owners about the importance of financial literacy for ensuring business sustainability.

Abstract

This community service program activity is a collaboration between Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University and the Surabaya City Accounting and Banking MGMP. There are three schools in Surabaya that have a Banking major but do not yet have a web-based banking laboratory application that is used to support banking transactions for students. The application used by schools that have a banking major is a conventional banking laboratory application based on LAN (Local Area Network) which can only be accessed in the laboratory room, while schools that have a sharia banking major do not yet have a sharia banking laboratory application. The stages of this activity include the preparation stage, application development stage, implementation of training and evaluation of activities. This activity aims to share information with teachers on the use of web-based banking laboratory applications for banking transactions. The methods used were training and mentoring. The result of this activity is the creation of web-based conventional and Islamic banking laboratory applications that can be used by teachers of the Surabaya City Accounting and Banking MGMP. Based on the training results, vocational high school teachers and students are able to use the web-based banking laboratory application for banking transactions, so that the learning process is not only carried out manually, but also digitally.

Abstract

The community service in Batik Jetis Sidoarjo MSMEs aims to provide an understanding to business actors about the importance of implementing the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM). In addition, this activity also includes assistance for MSME players in implementing SAK EMKM, which plays an important role in improving the quality of their financial statements. The problem faced by craftsmen in Kampung Jetis is the lack of ability and knowledge of business actors related to the implementation of effective accounting. Therefore, this assistance is expected to help them understand and apply accounting better to support the sustainability of their business. This service method is carried out in 3 stages, including: Observation, Socialization, and Assistance. The results of observations and interviews show that the majority of MSME actors do not understand standardized financial records and still use simple bookkeeping. Socialization was carried out through basic accounting training, followed by pretest and posttest to measure the increase in understanding. Furthermore, mentoring was provided to two MSME players, namely Bu Ratna and Pak Rinaldi, with a focus on digitizing financial records and separating business and personal assets. The results of this program show that intensive education and mentoring are necessary for MSMEs to effectively implement SAK-EMKM.

Abstract

Early childhood education in Kotawaringin Timur Regency faces several challenges, particularly in managing facilities and infrastructure. Many kindergartens and playgroups lack adequate resources, such as interactive classrooms and outdoor play areas, which limits children’s creativity and exploration. This condition requires teachers to be innovative in utilizing limited resources to create meaningful learning experiences. To address these issues, a community service program was conducted to enhance teachers’ knowledge and skills in optimizing school facilities to support sustainable learning. The program emphasized strategies for maximizing limited resources, fostering collaboration with parents, using social media, and integrating horticulture into the learning environment. Interactive training methods were employed, including presentations, discussions, and hands-on practice. A total of 94 participants from 47 educational institutions joined the program, recruited through collaboration with Himpaudi Kotim, IGRA, and PKG Markisa. The results showed that teachers gained new insights into maximizing existing facilities, strengthening parent communication via Instagram and WhatsApp, and applying horticulture as an engaging learning medium. The discussions also highlighted the relevance of these strategies to school quality improvement, including accreditation. In conclusion, this program provided practical solutions for optimizing educational facilities, supporting inclusive and Adiwiyata-oriented schools, and fostering stronger collaboration between schools, parents, and technology to achieve sustainable education.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed the way companies promote their products and services, shifting from conventional methods to internet-based marketing strategies. The internet serves as an effective marketing medium to expand customer reach and strengthen business competitiveness through fast and broad information dissemination. PT. Karya Pancang Jaya is a construction service company specializing in pile foundation installation for various types of buildings. However, the company’s marketing activities have relied primarily on conventional approaches such as brochures, exhibitions, and customer referrals. To address this limitation, a community service program was carried out by lecturers from Universitas Atma Jaya Makassar through the development of a company website as a digital marketing medium. The program consisted of four stages—observation, preparation, implementation, and evaluation—conducted over a period of three months, from December 10, 2024, to February 12, 2025. The results indicate that the developed website has been successfully hosted and launched, featuring comprehensive information about the company profile, services, and completed projects. This website is expected to strengthen PT. Karya Pancang Jaya’s digital presence and improve its marketing effectiveness.

Abstract

Environmental safety and order are important aspects of creating a harmonious and prosperous community life. Environmental Security Posts (Pos Kamling) play an important role as a community-based security system in maintaining order and preventing crime. However, residents in RT. 17, Sukamulya Village, Sematang Borang District, Palembang City are facing the problem of the increasing number of vehicle theft cases parked in their home yards. Therefore, this community service activity is carried out with the aim of designing and building a neighborhood watch post as a solution to improve environmental security. The methods used include field surveys, direct observation, and interviews with RT officials and local residents to collect relevant data and information. The results of this service include the preparation of Pos Kamling planning documents, including the calculation of the Budget Plan (RAB), as well as the physical construction of the post until it is ready for use. Beside being a security monitoring center, the neighborhood watch post also serves as a means of social interaction that can strengthen relationships between residents. A Pos Kamling management unit was established after the activity to carry out the patrol SOP, supply the duty schedule, oversee the fast reporting channel, and accept the transfer of DED, RAB, and SOP papers as operational instructions.

Abstract

In the digital era, online business has become dominant but has not completely replaced offline enterprises. The integration of online and offline strategies provides a more effective approach to enhancing customer experience and business growth. Desa Burai, Ogan Ilir, Sumatra Selatan, has significant human resource potential as business owners; however, this is not followed by adequate marketing capabilities, particularly in terms of promotional activities, which remain largely traditional. The participants of this Community Service Program consisted of 25 local business owners who had never or had only minimally engaged in digital advertising. The objective of this program was to introduce Canva, a user-friendly graphic design platform, to help business owners create simple digital-based advertisements. Canva enables participants to develop advertising materials as an effort to optimize promotional strategies. The methods implemented in this program included an initial survey, training activities, and post-activity evaluation. The results indicated an improvement in business owners’ ability to market their products more broadly within the digital context.
