Abstract

Peel-off type facial skin mask preparations from herbal/synthetic ingredients can have the advantages of being easily removed, such as elastic membranes, improving hydration of the skin, treating wrinkles, aging, and acne, shrinking pores, moisturizing the skin, and relaxing facial muscles. Posbindu partner cadres in the working area of Puskesmas Pasirkaliki, Cimahi City, feel that there is still a lack of understanding and skill level in making simple cosmetic preparations from herbal ingredients, especially peel-off type facial skin mask preparations. Thus, we, as an extension team from the Community Partnership Program (PKM) grant scheme, strive to provide booklets, counseling on various facial skin health materials, and training assistance in making peel-off type facial skin masks with simple formulations of a combination of Marchantia paleacea liver moss herbaceous plants and green tea leaves to posbindu partner cadres in the Pasirkaliki Puskesmas Working Area,  North Cimahi Village, Cimahi City. The mixed results of this community service activity indicate that there are benefits, such as a significant increase in the level of health understanding in the results of pre-test and post-test evaluations of various health education that have been provided, including the importance of utilizing peel-off type facial skin mask preparations from traditional herbal ingredients and Posbindu partner cadres as agents of change are expected to convey health information and skills that obtained so that it can be conveyed to the immediate family and the rest of the community in general

Abstract

The increase in the number of COVID-19 cases took place quite quickly, and spread to various districts in Indonesia in a short time including Poso Regency. The elderly and those with comorbidities are at risk of contracting and experiencing worse complications due to COVID-19. Therefore, it is very important to prevent transmission through promotive and preventive efforts to the elderly, both at the family, community and health facilities levels. To achieve this, one of them is through the establishment of GELAS KACA (Gerakan Elderly Manage, Adapt, Prevent and Resilient), which aims to increase the knowledge of the elderly in preventing the transmission of COVID-19. The problems that the elderly do not know how to manage illness during the pandemic, the elderly feel stressed because they have to stay at home, only health services are carried out if it is really important, the observation results show that there are also some elderly people who are afraid to go to health services for fear of being diagnosed with COVID -19. This is the basis for the implementation of the service which aims to establish GELAS KACA (The Elderly Movement for Managing, Adapting, Preventing and Resilient). Abstract

Public knowledge of self-medication is crucial, and one of the challenges faced is the lack of awareness regarding this practice. Irrational self-medication can lead to harmful consequences, such as incorrect treatment due to inaccurate self-diagnosis. Contributing factors include biased drug advertisements in the media and inadequate information from healthcare professionals. Community engagement is one of the collaborative sharing programs initiated by the Government, known as the Gema Cermat (Smart Community Using Medicines Movement), which includes the promotion tagline "Ask 5 O." This community engagement program aims to enhance the independence of the public in selecting, obtaining, using, storing, and disposing of drugs appropriately, thus promoting rational drug use within society. The target audience for this program was the teenage group of Sekaa Teruna Teruni Panji Semerang in Banjar Sembung Meranggi, Sembung Gede Village, Bali. The results of this community engagement program demonstrated a significant change in participants' knowledge, as assessed through pre- and post-survey questionnaires analyzed using paired T-Test, showing a p-value of 0.000 < 0.005. The findings highlight the beneficial impact of the Gema Cermat program in improving participants' knowledge. Going forward, it is recommended to conduct more frequent community engagement activities across various segments of society to support rational drug use.

Abstract

Indonesia is the 3rd ranked country with the highest number of TB cases in the world, namely 845,000 cases in 2020. In the same year, the number of suspected TB in East Java was 42,922 cases and Sumenep Regency was in the 11th position with the most TB with 1,924 cases. Therefore, community service activities aim to carry out training for TB cadres at the Bluto Health Center as an effort to reduce TB cases. Community service activities are carried out from April to July 2022. Activities begin with planning, obtaining permits, coordination meetings, training preparations, conducting webinars, conducting face-to-face training, pre-test and post-test evaluations. Activities went well. The impact of implementing training activities was in the form of 93% of cadres experiencing an increase in knowledge and the other 7% experiencing a decrease in knowledge. These good results can be used as a basis for local health workers to continue activities to increase the knowledge and skills of cadres using the lecture method; question and answer; health promotion media in the form of videos; and direct practice. Cadres can also use the same method to educate the target community regarding TB, how to prevent and treat it.
