Aksara merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Batanghari dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Batanghari. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal penelitian yang mempublikasikan artikel hasil penelitian asli, studi kepustakaan, dan tulisan terkait dengan fokus pada kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, kajian bahasa dan kajian sastra. Semua artikel ditinjau oleh 4 orang reviewer, 2 orang reviewer internal dan 2 orang reviewer eksternal. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam satu tahun setiap bulan April dan bulan September, jurnal aksara ini dapat diakses pembaca, jurnal aksara ini berisi hasil penelitian pustaka maupun hasil penelitian lapangan. Jurnal ini meliputi beberapa ranah Ilmu sebagai berikut: 1. Kajian Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia meliputi bidang pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa, pembelajaran linguistik, pembelajaran semantik, pembelajaran pragmatik, pembelajaran wacana, pembelajaran sosiolinguistik, pembelajaran psikolinguistik serta pembelajaran puisi, pembelajaran prosa, pembelajaran fiksi, pembelajaran drama. 2. Kajian Bahasa Indonesia meliputi: fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, semantik, pragmatik, sosiolinguistik, psikolinguistik, bahasa dan budaya, dialektologi, dokumentasi bahasa, serta bidang keilmuan lain yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan. 3. Kajian Sastra Indonesia meliputi: sastra lisan dan sastra modern berupa kajian puisi, prosa fiksi dan drama.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the aspects of faith between human and God (Hablumminallah) which is found in Jambi Malay song lyrics on the album  Mayang Mangurai by Syahril Jahari. The type of research used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The data of this research is the lyrics of Jambi Malay songs on the album Mayang Mangurai by Syahril Jahari. The data shows that each of the song lyrics signified the quotation of religious values relating to the relationship of human with God (Habluminallah). Based on the analysis, it can be seen that there are several aspects found in that song lyrics in which 28 quotations  derived from the aspect of faith in God. This represents how people have faith in God. Based on the analysis, it can also be concluded that the lyrics of Jambi Malay songs on the album Mayang Mangurai by Syahril Jahari contain religious values related to human relationship with God (Hablumminallah) from the persepctive of God’s blessing towards human being.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the students ability in writing fable by using examples non examples model at class VII D SMP Negeri 6 Muaro Jambi Academic Year 2017/2018. This research used quantitative correlation approach. The population of the research was class VII D SMP Negeri 6 Muaro jambi. The sample of the research consisted of one class, 12 men and 18 women with total sample was 30 people. The data was collected by using pre-test by using conventional method and post-test by using examples non examples model. The result of the research shows that the value of tcount is 7.766. Meanwhile the value of ttable is required from table t with dk 28 and the siginicance () is 0,05. By comparing the value of tcount and ttable it is required tcount > ttable, it means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of examples non examples model can be used in increasing the ability of the students in writing fable at class VII D SMP Negeri 6 Muaro Jambi with the mean score of post-test is 82.63 higher that the mean of pre-test 70.20. Keywords: writing, fable, model examples non examples

Abstract

The purposeof this research to identify symbolic meaning in the poem Puisi Malu (Aku) Jadi Orang Indonesia by Taufiq Ismail which refer to the lexical, grammatical, referential, denotative, connotative, words meaning, terms meaning, conceptual meaning, and assosiative meaning. This research is qualitative descriptive. The source of the data is primary and secondary data. The primary data is taken from the collection of poetry Malu Aku Jadi Orang Indonesia (MAJOI), while secondary data is taken from some books and other references which can be used in analyzing the data. The secondary data is taken from the library of FKIP Batanghari University and district library. The data is analyzed by using hermenutics technique, they are; reading the literature based on the structure of the language by translating and or identifying the meaning of the words or the synonym of the words. The result of the research shows that there is lexical meaning in those ten poetry by Taufiq Ismail. So, it can be concluded that the poetry by Taufiq Ismail has some lexical meanings in relation to convention or agreement. Key Words: anayisis, symbolic meaning, poetry

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe trusteeship in the folklores of Kerinci  Sakunung-sakunung ninau in Desa Pulau Tengah Kabupaten Kerinci which consists of two aspects, namely implied trusteeship and express trusteeship. The data in this research is primary data in a form of expressions in the folklores of Kerinci Sakunung-sakunung ninau in Desa Pulau Tengah Kabupaten Kerinci. The source of the data is the folklores of Kerinci Sakunung-sakunung ninau in Desa Pulau Tengah Kabupaten Kerinci. This research is qualitative descriptive. Based on the collection of the data, transcribing the data, and analyzing the data, the trusteeship in the folklores of Kerinci Sakunung-sakunung ninau in Desa Pulau Tengah Kabupaten Kerinci can be understood. Moreover the researcher interprets logically and makes conclusions towards findings. Based on data tabulation, two points of view are occured. They are implied trusteeship and express trusteeship. The most dominant type occured is express trusteeship while the least is implied trusteeship. There are 41 expressions found; 20 expressions of implied trusteeship and 21 expressions of express trusteeship. Thus it can be concluded that both implied and express trusteeship occured in the folklores of Kerinci Sakunung-sakunung ninau.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the types of phlegmatic personality in Sarwono character in the novel Hujan Bulan Juni by Sapardi Djoko Damono which refer to eleven aspects. That eleven aspects of phlegmatic personality are flexibel, courtesy, calm, quiet, pleased, administrative ability, peaceful, sosialization, having a lot of friends, good listener. This research isdescriptive qualitative. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that the types of phlegmatic personality in the novel Hujan Bulan Juni by Sapardi Djoko Damono are flexibel, courtesy, calm, quiet, patience, pleased, administrative ability, peaceful, sosialization, having a lot of friends, and good listener. From that elevent aspects of phlegmatic personality, the most utterances found in the novel Hujan Bulan Juni by Sapardi Djoko Damono are pleased, flexiblem good listener. These phlegmatic aspects represent the character of Sarwowno as good and wise person.in the novel Hujan Bulan Juni karya Sapardi Djoko Damono.Key Word: personality, phlegmatic, novel

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan unsur kohesi leksikal yang terdapat dalam majalah Patriotik LPM Universitas Batanghari edisi Juli-September Tahun 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data pada peneitian ini adalah wacana yang terdapat dalam majalah Patriotik Edisi XVI Juli-September Tahun 2016. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik baca dan catat. Adapun teknik analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kajian isi.Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap data-data, maka ditemukan unsur kohesi leksikal dalam majalah Patriotik LPM Universitas Batanghari edisi Juli-September Tahun 2016 sebanyak 239 kutipan. Adapun unsur kohesi leksikal tersebut, terdiri dari unsur repetisi ditemukan sebanyak 206 kutipan, unsur sinonim sebanyak 5 kutipan, unsur antonim sebanyak 13 kutipan, unsur hiponim sebanyak 8 kutipan, unsur kolokasi sebanyak 6 kutipan, dan unsur ekuivalensi sebanyak 1 kutipan. Unsur repetisi mendominasi dari setiap wacana yang terdapat dalam majalah Patriotik LPM Universitas Batanghari Edisi XVI Tahun 2016. Kata Kunci: Wacana, Kohesi Leksikal, Majalah

Abstract

This purpose of this research is to describe the errors of spelling in expository composition of class X MIPA 1 at SMA negeri 3 Kota Jambi academic year 2018/2019. This research used qualitative descriptive method. The data of this research was sequence of sentences of students’ writing with spelling errors. The primary data was students’ expository composition of class X MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Jambi Tahun academic year 2018/2019. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be found that the errors of spelling in expository composition of students’ class X MIPA 1 semeter I SMA negeri 3 kota Jambi tahun ajaran 2018/2019 were 713 errors. The errors of spelling consists of 588 errors of using capital letter in the beginning of the sentence; 4 errors of using capital letter in the beginning of the sentence with direct quote; 10 errors of using capital letter as the first letter of nation name; 2 errors of using capital letter as the first letter of days’ name; 3 errors of capital letter as the first letter of geography;14 errors of capital letter of every word in the title of their composition. Moreover, there following errors of the use of comma is; 60 errors of comma in between of elements of explanation; 4 errors of comma before conjunction; 11 errors of comma behind the conjunction of sentences; 7 errors of comma in separating direct quote from the other parts of the sentence; 2 errors of comma in between of district or country’s name which is written in sequence; 9 errors of comma on the back of the information of the beginning of the sentence which is used to avoid error of reading.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and archive Feminist character in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga by Agust Dapa Loka. This research is descriptive qualitative which solves the problems by describing and interpreting the objects in the form of social phenomenon on people’s lives based on their reality. By using this kind of research, the research can describe data that are related to feminist aspects in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga by Agust Dapa Loka. The result of this research indicates that there are 45 eppressions which represent feminist aspects. There are 20 expressionswhich are related to well attitude in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga  by  Agust Dapa Loka. There are 15 expressions which are related to patience and sincere attitude. There are 10 expressions which are related to sacrifice attitude of the wife character. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that there are 50 expressions of feminism representation in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga  by Agust Dapa Loka and the most dominant aspect occured in the novel is sincere attitude of 20 expressions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the type of coherence in the column of crime story of Tribun Jambi March edition. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. Research Data is obtained by using documentation techniques. The data on this research is a sentence which contains of types of coherence, namely; cause and effect, addition, process, spatial, and indefinites. The source of the data is in the form of news text in the column of crime story of Tribun Jambi newspaper. Based on the results of the data anaylsis, it is found that there are 543 types of coherence in the crime story column of Tribun Jambi March edition 2019. There are 20 quotations of cause and effect which are characterized by three conjunctions, such as maka, jadi, and, sebaliknya. There are 293 types of addition coherence which are characterized with six conjunctions i.e. dan, selain itu, baik, maupun, serta, and di samping itu. There are 128 types of process coherence which are characterized with two conjunctions namely dengan and tanpa. There are 83 types of spatial coherence which are characterized by six conjunctions i.e., lalu, kemudian, setelah itu, pada saat itu, sebelumnya, and sementara itu. There are 19 quotations of indefinites coherence which are marked with four conjunctions i.e. bukan hanya, bahkan, selanjutnya, and lalu. Thus, it is found that the addition coherence as the dominant type which occurs in the column of crime story in Tribun Jambi newspaper March edition 2019. While the least coherence found in the data is indefinites coherence.

This research is aimed at describing figurative language in simile aspect in the Novel Marmut Merah Jambu by Raditya Dika. This research is qualitative descriptive. The data of this research is primary and secondary data. The primary data is taken directly while secondary data is taken from books, notes, and certain evidence, or published or unpublished archives. The result of the researc identifies that there are 8 quotes of figurative language in simile aspect which is found in the novel Marmut Merah Jambu by Raditya dika.Kata Kunci: analisys, figurative language, novel
