Abstract

This research aims to analyze the distribution of businesses and business turnover around the Samudra University campus area. This research uses a quantitative approach with spatial analysis techniques. The data collected in this research is the type of business and business turnover according to day and time. The data analysis technique used is Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW). This analysis is used to map the distribution of business turnover using the Quantum GIS (QGIS) application version 3.34. The results of this research are in the form of geospatial information about the distribution of business turnover. There are differences in turnover between one business and another. Businesses with the highest turnover are in areas far from campus. Meanwhile, businesses located near campus have lower turnover. This is caused by the activities of students who move to campus to eat breakfast or lunch. Therefore, researchers recommend building good roads around the UNSAM campus area for more equitable economic development.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of the existence of a final waste disposal site on the socio-economic conditions of the community in Tanjung Selamat Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative data obtained by observing and interviewing respondents. The results of the research show that the positive impact caused by the existence of this final waste disposal site on the socio-economic conditions of scavengers who work at the final waste disposal site is very helpful for the waste scavengers. However, there are also negative impacts caused by the presence of landfills, including some of the scavengers have suffered from fever bleeding, typhus, and itching. Apart from being susceptible to disease from Qada and waste scavengers, they also have poor air quality in their homes, this is due to the presence of garbage trucks passing by which can contribute to dust, smoke and unpleasant odors.

Abstract

Reviewing the geological diversity (geodiversity) in an area is important to review as a candidate for a geopark area. Jaboi Volcano located on Sabang Island is a type C volcano that shows volcanic activity in the form of a mud crater and sulfur in it, Sabang Island which was formed because of the volcanic activity of Mount Seulawah is related to the presence of the Jaboi Volcano type C which is located on the coastal island. Jaboi volcano is one form of type C volcano as evidenced by traces of fulmora volcanic activity left by volcanic activity. As well as the existing crater holes, and the trees growing on the mountain die because of the heat from the sulfur holes that continue to grow and move so that it is possible that the sulfur holes and crater holes can move to the next hill near the mountain at any time.

Abstract

This study examines two developing countries in Southeast Asia, namely Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, which are guided by the same latitude position. The purpose of this study is to determine the physical and non-physical characteristics of Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, the potential of each country, the strengths and weaknesses of both countries, and the challenges in each country. This study is a study using a literature study method that focuses on the results of writing related to the topic or writing variables. The results of the study show that the strategic geographical location makes Indonesia a trade route. The tropical climate makes this region fertile, there are many mountain paths so that the Indonesian region becomes a suitable area for various plants and animals. Brunei Darussalam can be categorized as a developed country because this country still relies on and depends its country's economy on the primary sector in the form of oil and natural gas mining. Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia both have advantages in abundant natural resources, but the economic systems of both countries are less advanced.

Abstract

This study discusses community participation in forest rehabilitation in Kampung Jagong Jeget, Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh District based on Arnstein's theory. This study used a qualitative method by distributing research questionnaires. To determine the level of community participation in rehabilitation in Jagong Jeget Village, Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh District. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents based on Arnstein's eight participation ladders so that they could be categorized into 3 levels of participation, namely high, medium and low. All parameters given to 38 respondents are in a low position. The highest percentage is in the manipulation stage with a percentage of 14,8 % and the lowest percentage is in the therapy and partnership stages with a percentage of 11,02 %. This means that all parameters of the degree of community participation are still not optimal. Thus it can be concluded that most of the people in Kampung Jagong Jeget, Jagong Jeget District, Central Aceh District are still not participating in forest rehabilitation.

Abstract

The occurrence of landslides in Indonesia has been consistently increasing over the years, particularly in mountainous regions during the rainy season. The country's tectonic conditions, easily brittle volcanic rocks, and wet tropical climate contribute to the heightened potential for landslide disasters. The combination of anthropogenic and natural factors, leading to changes in land use, further exacerbates the risk of landslides, resulting in loss of life and property. This research focuses on the Purabaya Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, with the aim of analyzing landslide vulnerability. The analysis results in the creation of a Landslide Vulnerability Map for Purabaya Subdistrict, utilizing a scoring method overlaying rainfall maps, rock type maps, slope inclination maps, land use maps, and soil type maps. A total of 156 land units are identified with classifications of low, moderate, high, and very high landslide vulnerability. Areas with high and very high vulnerability levels encompass 49.52% of the total area, while low vulnerability areas constitute only 6.19%. Purabaya Subdistrict stands out with a dominant high vulnerability level, contributing 49.52% to the total area, whereas low vulnerability areas only cover 6.19%. These findings provide a foundation for landslide disaster risk management in the region.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic forced changes in learning. Circular Letter of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 4/2020 emphasized that all activities, including learning, must be carried out from home to prevent the spread of the virus in schools. Online learning faces obstacles, especially in the implementation of practicums. This study aims to identify learning loss in grade XI IPS students at SMA Negeri 60 Jakarta during the COVID-19 pandemic through interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that disaster simulations in schools, especially in disaster-prone areas, play an important role in increasing student preparedness. The COVID-19 pandemic affected the implementation, but after the pandemic, the simulations were full again. Students, both online and offline, agreed that simulations should continue to be carried out. Students' high interest in simulations, both during and after the pandemic, showed a positive impact on understanding and enthusiasm for learning. In conclusion, disaster simulations in schools have a significant positive impact.
