The socio-economic characteristics of society are changing. It can be seen from the social economy of the community which varies in terms of employment and home ownership. There were socio-economic changes in the community after the 2019 flash floods, the decline in the community's economy after the flash floods was caused by damage to agricultural land and road access to the village so that the income of the people in Natam and New Natam Villages experienced a decline. Changes in socio-economic characteristics after the flash flood occurred can be seen from house ownership and the decline in the community's economy caused by the destruction of the community's agricultural land. The difficulty of road access to the village has an impact on the cheap prices of agricultural products such as palm sugar, cocoa, rice, rubber latex, etc., so that people's income decreases.

Abstract

Availability of infrastructure is very important in efforts to reduce disaster risk, especially in education units. Schools that have adequate infrastructure can minimize the impact of disasters. The purpose of this study was to determine school preparedness in terms of the availability of supporting infrastructure in dealing with disasters in Banda Aceh City. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey research type. The sampling technique used Cluster Sampling with a total sample of 9 schools from various levels of education. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with a Guttman scale. The data analysis technique uses a simple percentage formula. The results of the study show that, as a whole, schools in Banda Aceh City are generally in the ready category as seen from the availability of infrastructure in dealing with disasters with a percentage of 83.3%.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Determine the distribution of forest and land fires that occur in Samosir Regency, (2) Determine efforts to control forest and land fires by BPBD Samosir Regency, and (3) Determine efforts to control forest and land fires by local communities. The method used is descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling with Key Informant sampling technique. The object of this research is that physical objects can be obtained from observation, secondary data, community interviews. Meanwhile, in terms of social objects, the sample is the Head of the BPBD and the Implementation Team in the field of forest and land fires as well as the emergency sector and the community, such as village heads, village officials and community leaders in areas where forest and land fires have occurred. The results of the research show: (1) The distribution of locations prone to forest and land fires in Samosir Regency is concentrated in two sub-districts, namely: Sianjur Mula-Mula District and Harian District, (2) Efforts to control forest and land fires carried out by BPBD Samosir Regency are quite good, and (3) Efforts to control forest and land fires carried out by the community.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of the zoning system on students' learning achievement at class VII SMPN 9 Palu. This research used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population in this research was all students at class VII SMPN 9 Palu, totaling 231 students, and 25% or 57 of them would be taken as samples. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation techniques. The research instrument was tested with validity and reliability tests. Data analysis used percentage descriptive statistics, correlation statistics, chi-square statistics, linearity test statistics, and homogeneity tests. This research proves the zoning system's positive and significant effect on the students' learning achievement at class VII SMPN 9 Palu. The calculation of student achievement in the conversion table found the average value of student learning achievement of 56.86, which is in the medium category. The results of the analysis calculation on the normality test using chi-squared statistics obtained chi-squared count = 13.97 with chi-squared table = 11.070, then chi-squared count < chi-squared table. The analysis results on the linearity test using the Fobs statistic were obtained = 0.596 with Ftable = 5.05 then Fobs ≤ Ftable..The analysis results on the homogeneity test X2obs = 0.347 with X2 table = 3.841 then X2obs ≤ X2table. The t-test obtained tcount = 12.681 with ttable = 0.632. Because of the value of tcount > ttable, it can be concluded that the correlation is significant or the working hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.

Abstract

Development is a process of continuous change towards better conditions based on certain goals. The Environmental Conference in Stockholm in 1972 is said to be the initial milestone for the start of sustainable development. It can be concluded that the link between the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) lies in the same main vision and mission to improve human life specifically for Indonesia, which is to improve the welfare of all people through Indonesia's participation in realizing the SDGs which are considered important to support development in Indonesia. This research uses a literature study or literature review method. A literature review itself is a comprehensive overview of research that has been conducted on the same topic to show readers what is already known about the topic and what is not yet known, to find rationale for the research that has been carried out or for ideas for further research.

Abstract

Sojol Subdistrict, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi, is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, dominated by steep hills, sandy loam soil, and variable rainfall, making it highly prone to landslides. This study maps landslide vulnerability potential using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology through overlay with five weighted scoring criteria: slope gradient (DEMNAS), land cover, rainfall (CHIRPS), soil type, and rock type. Geological data and land cover data were processed using ArcGIS 10.8. The results of the study show that the landslide vulnerability level of Sojol Sub-district is divided into three classes: low, moderate, and high. Villages with high landslide risk levels are Siboang, Bou, and Balukang, characterised by steep slopes (>70%), sparse dryland forest vegetation, and clay rock types that are highly susceptible to erosion during the rainy season. The landslide hazard map can be used as a basis for disaster mitigation, spatial planning, and raising public awareness of landslide risks.

Abstract

Household water insecurity is defined as the inability of individuals to access adequate, reliable, and safe water. This study aims to measure and analyze the level of household water insecurity around the Lae Souraya River in Desa Oboh, Rundeng District, Subulussalam City. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The primary instrument used was the Household Water Insecurity Experiences (HWISE) Scale, which was administered to 80 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to describe the prevalence and scale of water insecurity. The findings indicate a high level of water insecurity, with 76% of households classified as water-insecure. This high prevalence suggests that the majority of households frequently experience worries and challenges related to water accessibility, quantity, and quality for domestic purposes such as drinking, cooking, and hygiene. This research can serve as an empirical basis for policymaking aimed at improving public health and welfare in Desa Oboh.
