Abstract

The community service program conducted by a multidisciplinary team from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) in Pandak Village, Bantul, successfully improved healthcare accessibility for the elderly through a proactive model. This model integrated metabolic screening, clinical examinations by specialists (surgeons, cardiovascular specialists, and orthopedic specialists), and preventive education. The activity took place at PAUD Melati, Pandak Hamlet, with 100 participants (reaching 100% of the target) ranging in age from 40 to 80 years. The community showed high enthusiasm and found this "proactive outreach" service highly beneficial. This integrated collaboration between general practitioners and specialists is effective in early detection of chronic diseases in the elderly and improving the development of public health literacy.

Abstract

This library research aims to reformulate of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) or PAI learning framework in the digital era to build the religious character and social piety of students in schools. This literature research findings emphasize that social development through religious education faces complex digital challenges that alter students' moral perspectives. Therefore, PAI is directed toward a contextual, reflective, and adaptive learning model to connect religious content with real-world social-digital experiences. Strengthening religious character is achieved by integrating digital ethics and spiritual awareness, while social piety is fostered through empathy, tolerance, and ethical participation in digital communities. PAI teachers must transform into moral guides and literacy agents, supported by a reformulated evaluation system that authentically measures religious understanding through real attitudes and social practices.

Abstract

This study aims to address waste management challenges through counseling and training programs on household waste processing techniques. Methods include observation, training, and direct practice by the local community, particularly PKK and Karang Taruna groups. Evaluation results show improved participants' knowledge, with an average post-test score of 82.5 compared to 55 in the pre-test. However, program success is not measured solely by increased test scores, but rather by the emergence of collective initiatives, behavioral changes in waste sorting, and tangible actions taken by the community to independently process household waste. Its implementation has been proven to reduce inappropriate waste disposal practices, contribute to sustainable development and strengthen the social capital of local communities.

Abstract

Developing environmental awareness and community skills in rainwater management is crucial for reducing the risk of local flooding and improving environmental quality. A training activity on installing biopore infiltration holes for Women Farmers' Groups (KWT) and Family Welfare Movement (PKK) members in Panggang Hamlet, Kulon Progo, aimed to increase community awareness and skills in managing rainwater and reducing waterlogging. The training involved delivering materials and hands-on practice in constructing biopore holes. The results showed that participants successfully understood and practiced how to independently construct biopore holes. This activity also successfully empowered the community and increased environmental awareness. In conclusion, training on installing biopore infiltration holes can be an effective solution for reducing the risk of local flooding and improving environmental quality. Recommendations for future activities include increasing the availability of tools and materials and increasing community participation in similar activities.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide technical assistance in the selection of an efficient roof system in the Revitalization Program of SMK Bakti 17 Jakarta. Assistance is carried out through a comparative evaluation between the reinforced concrete slab roof system and the light steel frame with concrete tile cover based on structural aspects, material needs, construction costs, and duration of implementation. The results of the assistance showed that the use of a light steel roof system was able to reduce the dead load by 78.09%, reduce the volume of concrete by 31.17%, reduce the need for reinforcement by 37.30%, produce construction cost efficiency by 30.08%, and accelerate the duration of work from 38 days to 19 days. This activity benefits partners by enabling more effective technical decision-making through the application of value engineering concepts to the revitalization of educational buildings, thereby fostering sustainable independence in school asset management.

Abstract

This study analyzes the Maanta Galeh tradition in Sutera District as a socio-economic practice driven by Minangkabau women's agency. Utilizing a qualitative case study method, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Etymologically, the word galeh (glass) undergoes a linguistic metaphor into business capital, while maanta reflects communal support. This tradition undergoes a dual transformation: a shift from sacred rites to adaptive practice, and a material change from glassware to functional electronics and cash capital. Bundo Kanduang acts as the primary agency organizing capital and enhancing women's bargaining power. The novelty proves that material flexibility does not erode traditional values, but serves as a cultural adaptation strategy for micro-economic empowerment. Implication points toward strengthening Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 5, 8) and traditional-government synergies in kinship-based micro-enterprises.

Abstract

A company's internal employment regulations must ensure fairness and comply with statutory laws—particularly regarding maternity rights as stipulated in Law Number 4 of 2024 concerning Maternal and Child Welfare during the First 1,000 Days of Life (the KIA Law), which supports the development of an inclusive society. This empirical legal study in North Sulawesi Province aims to analyze the implementation of maternity rights for female workers in supermarkets and to formulate a legal perspective on resolving disputes regarding discrimination against these rights. The findings indicate that the fulfillment of maternity rights in supermarkets still faces various obstacles and discriminatory practices that disadvantage workers. The study recommends the adoption of a fair, gender-sensitive model for resolving industrial relations disputes to ensure the protection of female workers' maternity rights.

Abstract

Environmental degradation demands an active state role in ensuring ecosystem sustainability and upholding the constitutional right to a good and healthy environment. This normative-empirical legal research, utilizing statutory, conceptual, and case approaches across several regencies/cities in North Sulawesi Province, aims to analyze state responsibility toward environmental restoration and the fulfillment of public rights. The findings indicate that the government has not effectively conducted oversight or addressed public rights concerning natural preservation and sustainable development. Such ineffective supervision directly hinders the fulfillment of socio-economic rights. This study recommends strengthening collaborative governance and community participation to ensure an equitable and sustainable environmental recovery.

Abstract

The development of marine tourism in Tlocor has the potential to foster the empowerment of coastal communities through their involvement in economic activities and tourism management. Data for this qualitative case study were gathered through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, viewed through the lens of Edward III’s policy implementation perspective. The results indicate that policy implementation proceeds through communication among the government, local institutions, and the community; resource support; implementer commitment; and a division of roles among the village government, the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), and the community. Community members are not merely beneficiaries but active participants in tourism and local economic activities, serving as boat operators, vendors, parking attendants, and business owners. However, limitations in capacity, cross-sector coordination, and operational mechanisms remain obstacles to strengthening the sustainability of community empowerment. These findings indicate that institutional capacity opens up space for public participation and access to the benefits of tourism development.

Abstract

Trademark protection is part of the innovation-based economic development ecosystem. This study analyzes the legal construction of well-known trademark protection through the concept of “similarity in essence” and the degree of legal certainty in its application in Indonesia. This study analyzes the construction of protection for well-known trademarks through the concept of "essential similarity" and the level of legal certainty regarding its application in Indonesia. This normative legal research—employing statutory, conceptual, case-based, and historical approaches—reveals that protection for well-known trademarks is available through both preventive and repressive mechanisms, yet the parameters for determining "essential similarity" lack full uniformity. Assessment should consider dominant elements, visual and phonetic similarity, the relationship between goods or services, trademark reputation, likelihood of confusion, and bad faith.
