Abstract

Women of reproductive age contribute a significant proportion of HIV cases both in Indonesia and globally, yet early detection coverage and progress toward the 95-95-95 targets remain below national goals. Reproductive health services such as family planning (FP) and antenatal care (ANC) represent strategic contact points that could be integrated with HIV prevention services, though evidence on the forms and effectiveness of such integration, particularly in the Indonesian context, remains under-synthesized. To identify, appraise, and synthesize scientific evidence on the integration of reproductive health services into HIV prevention efforts among women of reproductive age. This systematic literature review followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines, searching PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Garuda, and SINTA for articles published 2015–2025. Study selection used the PICOS framework, followed by quality appraisal using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist and CASP, with narrative synthesis of findings.Nine studies met the inclusion criteria, comprising multi-country systematic reviews and primary studies from Indonesia. Integration of FP services with HIV testing consistently increased early detection coverage (35–99% in integrated services vs. 20–95% in non-integrated services). Comprehensive HIV knowledge among women of reproductive age was associated with interest in VCT, while implementation of Indonesia's PMTCT program at the primary care level continued to face health system barriers and social stigma. Integrating reproductive health and HIV prevention services is a strongly evidence-based strategy for improving early HIV detection among women of reproductive age; however, its success in Indonesia requires strengthening primary health systems, improving health literacy, and simultaneously addressing stigma.

Abstract

Family burden can affect the continuity of community-based care for people with schizophrenia, particularly medication supervision, recognition of early warning signs, and access to mental health services. This study examined the association between family burden and relapse-prevention practices among patients with schizophrenia in the working area of Puskesmas Juli-2, Bireuen Regency. An analytic cross-sectional study was conducted among 58 primary family caregivers selected purposively from 137 registered families. Data were collected on 1-7 July 2024 using a 12-item family-burden questionnaire adapted from Manao and Pardede and a 20-item relapse-prevention questionnaire. Data were summarized descriptively, and the association was tested using a chi-square procedure with Fisher-Freeman-Halton exact significance at α = 0.05. Most families had moderate burden (56.9%), and most reported good relapse prevention (62.1%). Good prevention was reported by 94.7% of families with light burden, 54.5% with moderate burden, and none with heavy burden. Family burden was significantly associated with relapse prevention (p < 0.001; Cramer's V = 0.576). Families with heavier burden require prioritized education, stress-management support, medication-access facilitation, and home-based follow-up.

Abstract

Women with disabilities face a substantially higher risk of sexual violence compared to non-disabled women, yet their access to help is frequently hindered by social and cultural barriers that remain underexplored in the Indonesian local context. This study aimed to explore the social and cultural factors influencing help-seeking behavior among women with disabilities who survived sexual violence in Yogyakarta. Methods: A qualitative case study design was used. Two women with physical and sensory disabilities aged 15-49 years under the auspices of Organization X in Yogyakarta served as primary informants, supported by one counselor as key informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with source triangulation and analyzed using thematic analysis. Two major themes emerged: social factors (disability stigma, social marginalization, and economic vulnerability) and cultural factors (patriarchal norms, Javanese family honor culture, and victim-blaming attitudes). Social and cultural factors substantially impede help-seeking among women with disabilities who survived sexual violence. Community based, disability and gender sensitive interventions and stronger local protective policies are urgently needed

Abstract

Anemia among pregnant women remains a health challenge that can increase the likelihood of complications during pregnancy and childbirth. One important element in anemia prevention efforts is the extent of pregnant women's knowledge regarding the use of Fe tablets. With a good understanding, it is hoped that their level of compliance in consuming Fe tablets can increase, thereby reducing the incidence of anemia. This study aims to explore the relationship between pregnant women's knowledge regarding the use of Fe tablets and the frequency of anemia among pregnant women in the TPMB Bdn. Roslina, S. Keb, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency in 2025. The method used in this study is an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 42 pregnant women was taken using an accidental sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in the study were a questionnaire about pregnant women's knowledge regarding the consumption of Fe tablets and a hemoglobin level check sheet. To analyze the data, the Chi-Square test was used. The research findings revealed a significant relationship between pregnant women's knowledge regarding the consumption of Fe tablets and the incidence of anemia, with a p value = 0.044 (p < 0.05). From the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between pregnant women's knowledge regarding Fe tablets and the incidence of anemia. It is hoped that medical personnel can increase education for pregnant women about the importance of taking Fe tablets consistently and correctly as a step to prevent anemia during pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Hypercholesterolemia is a condition of elevated total cholesterol ≥240 mg/dl, triglycerides ≥150 mg/dl, and LDL ≥160 mg/dl, accompanied by decreased HDL <40 mg/dl, making it one of the triggers of coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis. This condition can be controlled by managing a healthy and balanced diet, one of which is by consuming functional food in the form of bareh randang with added dadih. It contains lactic acid bacteria that function to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria while lowering high blood cholesterol levels. Purpose of the study: to determine the effect of administering bareh randang with added dadih on the reduction of total cholesterol levels and body weight in hypercholesterolemic wistar rats. Research method: true experimental with a pre-post intervention only randomized control group design. This study involved 36 hypercholesterolemic male wistar rats aged 12 weeks and weighing 200 g, which were then divided into 4 groups: control (standard feed); P1 (standard feed + bareh randang); P2 (standard feed + dadih); and P3 (standard feed + bareh randang dadih) at a dose of 3.7 g/day. The intervention was administered for 14 days. Differences between treatments were tested using a paired t-test, while differences among groups were tested using One-Way Anova at a confidence level of α=0.05, followed by the Tukey test. Results: A significant reduction in total cholesterol levels occurred only in groups P2 and P3 (p<0.05), whereas groups K and P1 showed no meaningful reduction. Group P3 experienced the highest reduction in total cholesterol, at 31.07%, accompanied by an increase in body weight of 44.3 ± 3.69 g.
