Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta yang ada di lokasi penelitian.  Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal di MAN Sungai Gelam Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, fakta yang diberikan masih rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa, terlihat dari jawaban soal yang diberikan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh guru yang lebih aktif dalam proses belajar mengajar, sedangkan siswa hanya ditempatkan sebagai penerima informasi saja. Sesuai dengan masalah yang diteliti maka metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah  penelitian eksperimen karena adanya hubungan sebab akibat antara dua variabel. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MAN Sungai Gelam Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI MIA Semester Genap tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Dalam penelitian ini yang dijadikan populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIA MAN Sungai Gelam Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaning dalam mengajarkan matematika pokok bahasan polynomial (suku banyak)  pada kelas XI MIA MAN Sungai Gelam  yaitu: (1) Berdasarkan hasil posttest diperoleh nilai kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas sampel pada materi polynomial (suku banyak) untuk kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Student Facilitator And Explaining memperoleh rata-rata 75  dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran inside outside circle memperoleh rata-rata 67. Berdasarkan hasil akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran  matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Student Facilitator and Explaning lebih tinggi dari model pembelajaran inside outside circle  kelas XI MIA MAN Sungai Gelam Kabupaten Muaro Jambi.Kata kunci: kemampuan penalaran, Student Facilitator And Explaining, inside outside circle

Abstract

Indonesian students' mathematical literacy based on PISA and PIRLS assessments is still in the low category. Mathematical literacy covers how students are able to know and use basic mathematics to solve problems in real life contexts. Problem Based Learning Model is a learning model that can solve problems in real life contexts by facilitating the development of junior high school students' mathematical literacy. The main principle of Problem Based Learning emphasizes mathematical problems that are human activities and must be meaningful for students, become a motivator to improve mathematical literacy skills through the stages of learning. This article examines the mathematical literacy ability of SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu students before and after going through the Problem Based Learning Model. Students' mathematical literacy skills prior to the application of the Problem Based Learning model have a percentage of 25% for the medium category and 75% are in the low category. Then for students' mathematical literacy ability after applying the Problem Based Learning model has a percentage of 5% for the medium category, 90% is in the low category, and 5% is in the high category. The results of inferential statistical analysis (Paired Sample T-test) obtained a significance value 0.05. This means that there is an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills after the application of the Problem Based Learning model in class VII SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu City.Keywords: Literacy Ability, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Each person has a different mathematical communication ability. Mathematical communication ability is a person's ability to convey information about mathematical concepts and ideas both in spoken and written form. This study aimed to describe the mathematical communication skills of students of Grade VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Purwokerto based on extracurricular activities. The type of this research was descriptive qualitative. The subjects used in this study were students of Grade VIII B SMP N 2 Purwokerto in the 2019/2020 academic year. Data were collected using the form of tests, interviews, and documentation. The test used in this study was a written mathematical communication skill test. The research subjects consisted of 2 students with academic extracurricular activities, 2 students with non-academic extracurricular activities, and 2 students with both academic and non-academic extracurricular activities. The results of this study indicated that: 1) students who only took academic extracurricular activities and students who took both academic and non-academic extracurriculars were able to present mathematical ideas in the form of images, mathematical symbols, and provide arguments for problems that were presented appropriately, and 2) students who only joined non-academic extracurricular activities, in general, had not provided arguments for a problem that was presented properly, but they were able to present mathematical ideas into the form of images and mathematical symbols appropriately.Keywords: Mathematical communication skills, extracurricular activities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in students' understanding of mathematical concepts by using conventional metaphorical thinking and learning approaches. This research is a quasi-experimental study. This research was conducted on July 17 - August 17 2018. The population of this study was all students of class IX TI Kerkap Bengkulu North MTs. The sample of this study is class IXB as an experimental class using the approach of metaphorical thinking and class IXA as a control class with conventional learning. Research instruments include tests of understanding mathematical concepts. Data were analyzed by t test. Based on the t-test, the results of the study showed that there were differences in students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the experimental and control classes. Keywords: Mathematical Concept Understanding Ability, Metaphorical Thinking Approach

Abstract

The background of this research is caused many things should be considered in learning mathematics one of them is students should be have ability in understanding concept of learning mathematics. Because each lesson of math materials contain a number of concepts that should be understand by students, therefore students should be able to relate what they have in their thinking structure like a mathematical concepts with the problems of students face. This Research aims to know picture students ability of mathematical concepts in VII class SMP PGRI Bengkulu city using lesson model of attainment concept on reflection material and what the factors that influence it. In this research, the data collection is done with tests and interviews.This research is a qualitative research descriptive . This study done in May 2015 at junior high school PGRI Bengkulu city. Sources of data are all of VIIth grade students. Data capabilities student in understanding mathematical concepts obtained using tests and interviews. Data tests students' ability of understanding mathematical concepts analyzed descriptively according Miles and Huberman. And then total four students were interviewed to find out more how the students' understanding of mathematical concepts.The results showed there were 21 students from 25 students were categorized good and 3 students were categorized enough, and a student were categorized less, so overall students' abilities in understanding mathematical concepts using models attainment concepts of mathematical students by using model attainment concept in VIIth class  SMP PGRI Bengkulu City are categorized good. Keywords: the ability of understanding mathematical concepts, learning model of attainment concept

Abstract

This study began with many students having low concept comprehension skills. This can be seen from the learning process that there are still many students who are less active, and there are still many students who still get grades below the KKM. the purpose of this study was to determine the ability to understand students 'mathematical concepts using the Think Talk Write learning model better than students' ability to understand mathematical concepts using conventional learning models in class VIII MTs Al-Ihsan. The type of this research is experimental, the design is Quasi Experimental, with Randomized Subjects Posstest Only Control Group Design. The sampling technique in this study is cluster random sampling, where class VIII.3 was chosen as the experimental class and class VIII.5 as the control class. Data collection techniques through concept understanding tests, then data analysis techniques used are inferential statistical analysis using the "t" test (Independent Sample t Test). Based on the results of research testing the hypothesis of this study obtained t count = 2.061 t table = -1.999. This means that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students using Think Talk Write learning models is better than the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students using conventional learning models in class VIII MTs Al-Ihsan

Abstract

This research is a development research which aims to (1) produce matematic module numeric method is valid and practical at STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. The research method consist of two stage: (1) preleminary, includes analysis and design of teaching materials in the form of module, (2) formative stages of study includes self evaluation, experts review, one to one and small group. The research subject were student of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagaralam. Data collection was done by walk trought, documents, and observations. All data collect were analyzed descriptively. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was concluded that (1) this research has produced in a product in the form of module numeric methode is valid and practical. Valid drawn from the assessment and advice of validators, which otherwise well-developed  module according to content (corresponding curriculum SBC), construct, and language (in accordance with EYD). Practical drawn from the test result, which module easy to wear, with the track students minds, not to cause a variety of interpretations and can be supplied and used by the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi oleh siswa baik itu ketika mengerjakan soal sendiri, maupun dikerjakan secara berkelompok. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik komunikasi langsung, dimana peneliti melakukan kontak langsung dengan responden melalui tatap muka. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan wawancara. Siswa diberikan tes terkait dengan materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Tes ini dimaksud untuk  mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika dan wawancara dilakukan untuk mengetahui kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh siswa. Setelah data diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan triangulasi data. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa siswa yang berada pada kelompok dapat saling bertukar pikiran dalam memahami konsep matematika materi sistem persamaan linier dua variabel daripada siswa yang mengerjakan soal secara  mandiri. Dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran kelompok mempermudah siswa dalam memahami konsep karena adanya proses pertukaran pikiran saat memahami konsep dari suatu masalah.Kata Kunci: Konsep, Kelompok, Masalah

ABSTRACTThis research aimed to construct many standardized problems items mathematical creative thinking ability which have Bengkulu contextual. It was held at SMPN 11 Bengkulu city at even semester on academic years 2017/2018. Tessmermodified by Zulkardi was used to developed those problems ones. Tessmer steps was preliminary and formative evaluation. Abstract

Mathematics is the science that underlies the development of modern technology and has an important role in various disciplines. The development of science and technology in the current era of globalization uses a mathematical mindset. Therefore, mathematics is a subject that must be studied at each level of the education unit. This study aims to determine whether or not there is a significant influence on the use of SAVI learning models on the mathematical communication skills of students at MTs MA Cikaliung. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method. Sampling was done by simple random sampling technique with a population of 89 students, and the sample used was 62 students from class VIII A as the experimental class and VIII B as the control class. The research instrument used in the form of a test essay (essay) is made based on indicators of mathematical communication skills. Based on data analysis using the t-test test method to test the proposed hypothesis, the results obtained with the value (tcount = 7.61 ttable = 1.67) at a significance level of 5%, then H0 is rejected and accept H1, so it can be concluded that there is Significant influence of the use of the SAVI learning model on mathematical communication skills of MTs MA students in Cikaliung.Keywords: Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectually, Mathematical Communication Skills.
