Abstract

Nervous system material tends to be difficult to understand and many theories need to be conveyed concisely and interestingly. This research aims to develop learning media in the form of interactive powerpoints on nervous system material that can improve learning outcomes. The research and development model uses the ADDIE model. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and questionnaires. Validity trials were carried out by material expert lecturers and media experts. Meanwhile, the practicality test was carried out by the class XI biology subject teacher and 20 students. The data analysis technique used is qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results show that the average validity of each interactive PowerPoint is 75% in the valid category. The average practicality value for interactive PowerPoint is respectively 90% and 86.85% in the very practical category as a learning medium. Then the t-test results obtained sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 0.05, indicating that interactive PowerPoint learning media is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Students’ creative thinking skills need to be continuously improved. However, the creative thinking of students at SMAN Arjasa (Arjasa Senior High School) based on the observation results is still low. This research aimed to improve students' creative thinking skills through the application of differentiated learning models of Project-Based Learning (PjBL), integrated with Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRTs). This research employed classroom action research, consisting of 2 cycles including planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data were analyzed using a Paired Sample t-Test to determine the differences in each cycle, and an n-gain analysis was used to determine the increase in students' creative thinking skills. The results showed that the application of differentiated learning with the PjBL integrated with CRT was able to improve students' creative thinking skills in the biology subject. Learning according to students' characteristics and cultural integration provides a more meaningful learning experience for students.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of optimal learning outcomes and collaboration skills of students. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the project-based learning model on learning outcomes and student collaboration skills on ecosystem material. The research method used is Quasi Experiment with the matching-only posttest-only control group design. The study population is class X MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Tasikmalaya. Samples were taken using purposive sampling and obtained class X MIPA 1 as a control class and X MIPA 4 as an experimental class. The learning process in the control classroom uses the discovery learning model. Data collection techniques in the form of learning outcomes tests and non-tests using the Collaboration Self-Assessment Tool (CSAT) questionnaire. Data analysis using One Way Anova Test. The results of data analysis show that there is an influence of the project based learning model on students' learning outcomes and collaboration skills on ecosystem material in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model of high-level intellectual learning, namely analysis, criticism, and conclusions is applied to LKPD used as a support in learning activities according to the competencies achieved. The research aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of PBL-based worksheets on excretory system material. This type of research is Research and Development (RnD) with a 4D model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). The results showed that student worksheets based on problem-based learning were made with a score of 100% (content validation) very valid criteria, 75% (construct validation) valid criteria, 98% (biology teacher response), and 81.5% (student responses) very practical criteria. The LKPD proved to be effective in achieving increased results (N-Gain) by achieving a high-class average score of 0.702. And it was concluded that the PBL-based LKPD that was made was valid, practical, and effectively applied in classroom learning activities

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the reading concept map reciprocal teaching (Remap RT) learning model on students' understanding of concepts and learning interest in the nervous system sub-material. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi experiment type nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was all students in class XI MIPA at SMA IT Ihsanul Fikri with the samples used are class XI MIPA 2 as the control class and class XI MIPA 3 as the experimental class. The results of the research show that the hypothesis analysis on the posttest score for students' conceptual understanding has a significance value of 0.002 (Sig.0.05). The experimental class also had a better average score than the control class. Then in the students' learning interest data, it is known that the results of the hypothesis analysis show a significance value of 0.000 (Sig.0.05). The experimental class has a higher average value of interest in learning than the control class. In conclusion that there is an effect of the Remap RT learning model on students' understanding of concepts and learning interest in the nervous system sub-material.

Abstract

This study is research and development. This study aims to obtain a practical HOTS-oriented module based on the implementation of the module and the response of teachers and students as practitioners. The research instruments used were module implementation observation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Practical data collection is carried out by providing implementation observation sheets to observers and response questionnaires are given to teachers and students. The results showed that the implementation of the module had an average score of 4.59 with the category carried out very well, the results of the teacher response questionnaire analysis had an average value of 4.58 with the practical category, and the results of the student response questionnaire analysis had an average value of 4.54 with the practical category. The conclusion of this study is that the HOTS-oriented module on biology material in the even semester of class X high school / MA developed has met the implementation criteria with the category of very well implemented and the response of teachers and students shows that the developed module is practically used in learning.

Abstract

The students' learning interest is decreasing due to the lack of interactive, enjoyable, and supportive instructional materials to help them achieve good learning outcomes. Therefore, researchers innovated by developing Learner Worksheets (LKPD) based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL). The research aims to assess the feasibility of PjBL-based LKPD through evaluations from experts (in content, media, and language) and students' responses. The research type used is Research and Development (RD). The assessment results from content experts showed a score of 82.03% "Very Feasible," media experts rated it 86.5% "Very Feasible," and language experts rated it 83% "Very Feasible," while students' response was 53% "Fairly Positive." Thus, it can be concluded that PjBL-based LKPD is feasible and can be used in education, especially in the field of biology

Abstract

The successful implementation of school based assessment has recorded positive influence on teaching and learning process in developed countries of the world. However, among the developing countries like Nigeria, there seem to be a lot of challenges. Hence, the purpose of study was to determine the extent school based assessment influence the teaching and learning experience in science subjects in Anambra State, Nigeria and the challenges encountered in the process. The investigation was conducted using a descriptive survey design. The study made use of mean and standard deviation for data analysis. The findings of the study revealed that school based assessment influences the teaching and learning of science subjects to a high extent. Moreover, the use of unprofessional teachers, inadequate teachers/students motivation and lack of unwillingness by the students to take part in school based assessment are some of the problems facing the successful implementation of school based assessment while adequate motivation of the teachers, employment of trained teachers and organizing conferences and seminars to train the teachers on school based assessment guidelines among others were proffered as the solutions to eradicate these challenges.

Abstract

Biology learning is closely related to conceptual understanding. Incorrect understanding of students if not immediately corrected can lead to misconceptions. This study aims to analyze and identify the causes of students' misconceptions about cell material using a four-tier diagnostic test with the CRI method. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The population used was all students of class XI MA Darul Muqorrobin Kendal. The research subjects were 52 students using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using tests, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results of the data analysis showed that the percentage of students who had misconceptions was 51%, understood the concept 22%, guessed 10% and did not understand the concept 17%. While the highest misconception for each sub material is 60% in protein synthesis. The percentage of factors that cause misconceptions from students is 60%, teachers are 44%, learning methods are 66%, teaching context errors are 48%, and textbooks are 40%. Based on the results of this analysis, misconceptions still often occur in cell material, so further research is needed on other materials.

Abstract

Validation is meant to be the truth of a product developed. Validation aims to determine the validity of a product, for example, in Popular Scientific Book (BIP). BIP is written in a simple and easy to understand. Contains about everyday activities that relate to the life of the community. Binjai is a typical Kalimantan plant that has benefits related to the local wisdom. This research aims to describe validation of BIP resulting from the morphology and anatomy characterization of binjai. This research method uses an EDR by Plomp that is limited to the prototype stage and using Tessmer's formative evaluation. The subject of this research is the experts and users who will evaluate BIP. The data collection technique is a questionnaire distributed to the research subjects. The validity test showed that the developed BIP was categorized as very valid with score 85.42%. Readability the development BIP is categorized very well with score 95.83%.
