Abstract

AbstractHumanism as a thought in the field of philosophy assesses humans as having a high position compared to other God's creatures. Humans are social creatures who need and adapt to each other. This study describes the Humanism thought of Ibn Miskawaih (330 H/941 AD). He is one of the leading Islamic philosophers whose thoughts are very influential on the thoughts of later figures, especially moral philosophy, so he is often referred to as the father of moral philosophy. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive analysis method. Humanism of Ibn Miskawaih views humans as intelligent beings or creatures who have been awarded by God the potential of reason so that they have the freedom to determine which choices are good and bad. Man lives together and he refuses to live alone or ascetic. Humanism in Ibn Miskawaih's thought is in line with education in Indonesia. To become a perfect human being must be accompanied by good training and education. Education is very important to train the potential that exists in the human person.

Abstract

This article specifically describes and analyzes the cohesiveness between ethics and politics from Aristotle's thought. More specifically, he has written his thoughts in a book entitled Politics which has presented the concept of building the basic structure of the state and how to manage and distribute social justice (goodness). In human life, ethics and politics seem inseparable from human civilization. This is because this is one of the fundamentalist parts of the human paradigm and is difficult to separate. If politics is understood, as a “match”; "war"; "justify all means" will certainly give birth to politicians who are hungry for power (demoralization); who inherited animalistic traits. Instead, politics is interpreted by Aristotle in essence as "an effort to produce justice". The methods used are descriptive-analytical and historical methods with the aim of describing and analyzing the background and thoughts of Aristotle's political ethics as a whole. The results obtained first, the purpose of a country is to realize and maintain goodness. Here, it is as if Aristotle connects politics with goodness, namely ethics. Second, politics is the most important science and the most exalted thought which includes many good, and that all sciences serve it.

Abstract

Reading Islamic history and civilization and contemporary conditions affected by irrational religious narratives, the decline of Muslim society, conflicts, and violence prove that the decline and backwardness of civilization are still continuing in Islamic world. Various formula are offered to revive Islamic civilization. However, instead of compiling a formula with a strong scientific foundation, the response has been increasingly ideological and political from time to time. At the same time, unfortunately, the Muslim community used heretics and prohibitions to purge Islam’s only scientific and rational heritage, philosophy, from the stage of civilization. Through an interdisciplinary approach and critical discourse analysis methods utilizing empirical and literature to reveal the urgency of philosophy as an important tradition related to advance quality of civilization, this research findings important results are; First, Islamic philosophy deals with the creation of scientific and humanist culture which becomes basis progress of civilization. Second, after forbidden by Sunni orthodox which made political alliences with rulers, Islamic philosophy lost its influence, and gradually Islamic civilization declined. Third, decline that continue to this day is the result of the position of Islamic philosophy which has not been sufficiently revitalized in Muslim societies.

Abstract

The thought of a philosopher named Nietzsche was influenced by the shadows of life in the past, where he was very disappointed with the Christian concept of ignoring the reality of life, the shackles of worship ceremonies to the point of ignoring the essence of life itself. directly reject life, because in the reality of human life has lust, by acknowledging the existence of God then the human will is shackled. One of Nietzsche's ambitions about life is the will to power, a superior human being according to him is the extent to which he is in power, but on the other hand he also does not believe in religion, even though religion plays a very important role in his assistance to power. So, in this paper, the author refutes Nietzsche's thoughts about his antipathy to religion, it is religion that prevents humans from committing criminal acts.

Abstract

Practical philosophy is one of the philosophical patterns to bring philosophy closer to everyday life. In Islamic philosophy, the practical philosophy is called a wisdom 'Amali, namely philosophy about human behavior or efforts. Unfortunately, the discussion of practical philosophy lately does not get the ideal portion, so philosophy seems to be a realm that discusses the theoretical things and gives rise to the impression that the philosophy is very up and merely theoretical. The presence of philosophical theories that can provide a way out of various modern human problems is needed, especially in the information technology era with multiple issues and complexity. With these considerations, this study will analyze the reformulation of practical Islamic philosophy in the age of information technology. This type of research is qualitative research by applying the library study method. This study indicates that in the treasure of Islamic philosophy, the emphasis on the importance of practical philosophy and the practical philosophy description is stated in almost all Islamic philosophical figures, both classic and medieval periods. Among the Islamic philosophers that discuss the problem of human life relevant to modern human life is Al-Kindi (Al-Hilah lil-Daf Al-Ahzan), Al-Farabi (Risalah Tanbih ila al-Sabili al-Sa'adah), and Al-Ghazali (Mizan Al-Amal and Al-Munkidz min al-Dhalal). While the reformulation model and development of practical Islamic philosophy learning can be done by introducing practical Islamic philosophy, sorting out the concept of practical philosophy relevant to people's lives in the era of information technology, and making philosophical interpretations of the achievement of classical Islamic philosophers so that their thinking concepts are applicable to life Today's society.

AbstractThis paper is a study of the law, especially those related to the concept of justice. Justice as it is known is an important component in human life. Everyone must uphold the value of justice so that there is no longer any form of oppression and unequal treatment between one another. One of the thoughts of Islamic leaders studied in this study is Aghar Ali Engineer. Justice in Ali Engineer's opinion is one of the important aspects or needs for every human being to be able to balance between demanding his rights and carrying out the obligations that should be carried out. A law that does not carry out justice properly is only a theory if it cannot be practiced or applied in state life. This research is also relevant to the values of Pancasila, especially the fifth principle, namely social justice for all Indonesian people. Justice in Ali Engineer's thinking is in line with the principle of justice in the Pancasila precepts in Indonesia.
