Abstract

This study is a descriptive study that discusses problem solving mathematics that has high, medium, and low self-concepts on algebraic material at MTs Darul Hidayah. The subjects in this study were seventh grade students of MTs Darul Hidayah who were in high, medium, and low self-concept classes. Data collection techniques are test techniques and direct communication techniques. Data collection tools used were questionnaires, problem questions, and interviews. Obtained from Students with high self-concept able to understand problems, able to plan problem solving, able to solve problems according to plan, and able to prove answers by re-examining the results that have been obtained; Students with moderate self-concept are able to understand problems, are able to plan problem solving, and are able to solve problems according to plan; Students with low self-concept are able to understand problems, able to plan problem solving, able to solve problems according to plan but with inappropriate final results.

Abstract

This study uses descriptive and qualitative research techniques. Data are collected and described in the form of words in descriptive research. This research was conducted at SMP Awaluddin. The data of this study were collected through certain methods, namely, tests, questionnaires, interviews used to analyze difficulties regarding mathematical creative thinking skills in the material of two-variable linear equations, then processed into clear and easy-to-understand information. The subjects in this study consisted of 6 students of grade VIII with 2 students who had high, medium, and low levels of ability in each with a field dependent cognitive style consisting of 1 student and a field independent cognitive style consisting of 1 student. Data collection techniques used in this study are measurement techniques, direct communication techniques and indirect communication techniques with data collection tools in the form of test questions, questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results obtained by students who have high creative thinking abilities fulfill the three indicators of aspects of thinking ability, namely fluency, flexibility and novelty, (2) Students with moderate creative thinking abilities show that they only fulfill the fluency aspect, (3) Students with low mathematical creative thinking abilities do not fulfill the three aspects of creative thinking abilities, namely fluency, flexibility and novelty.Keyword: analysis, creative thinking skills, cognitive style, SPLDV

Abstract

Mathematics lessons are considered abstract lessons far from everyday life. Therefore, the task of mathematics teachers is to present mathematical concepts in students' lives to mathematics learning. Ethnomathematics is an approach that links mathematics and culture. The method used is to explore the concept of ethnomathematics, one of which is in the craft of woven pandan mats as a student learning resource. The aim of this research is to describe the mathematical concepts contained in woven pandan mats in the Padang Tikar community and to use them as a mathematics learning resource in the form of LKPD. The form of research used in this research is exploratory research with an ethnographic approach. The subjects in this research were pandan mat craftsmen. The instruments used were observation guidelines and interview sheets. The data analysis technique used in this research is the Miles and Huberman model of data analysis. The results of the research show that there are several activities of woven pandan mat craftsmen, namely: determining which pandan is suitable for use, determining the length of the pandan, cleaning and determining the width of the ilik, boiling the ilik, soaking the ilik, drying the ilik, dyeing the ilik, making woven motifs, and determining the length and width pandan mat. The mathematical concepts contained are: sets, logic, comparison, multiples, fold symmetry, geometry, multiplication of integers, and measurement. From the mathematical concepts obtained, it will be used as a LKPD, namely geometry where the material taken is squares and rectangles.

Abstract

The contradictory between the urgency of mathematical reasoning ability and the facts in the field resulted in the need for the application of the Discovery Learning model in learning. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review method which aims to see the development of various studies on the Discovery Learning model on mathematical reasoning skills. This study analyzed 20 articles in the range of 2018-2024 where it was found that the research trend was in 2018, with research subjects at the junior high school, on the material of building space, and research trends using quantitative methods. In general, the results show that the Discovery Learning model has a positive impact on students' mathematical reasoning skills

Abstract

In this study, researchers used Pre-Experimental Design with the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. the sample in this study were 32 students of class XI TITL at SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak. the data collection technique in this study was an indirect communication technique using a questionnaire. The learning motivation of students who do not use multimedia martematics learning based on google sites has an average percentage of 71% (high). The learning motivation of students who use multimedia learning martematics based on google sites has an average percentage of 82% (very high). The effect of using multimedia learning martematics based on google sites on the learning motivation of class XI students at SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak is evidenced by the results of the Wilcoxon test whose probability value or Sig. 2 tailed of 0.000 <0.05 and an effect size value of 1.021 which shows an increase in learning motivation in the large category. Thus it can be concluded that the use of multimedia learning martematics based on google sites has a major effect on student learning motivation.

Abstract

This research aims to produce student worksheet containing scientific attitude in discovery learning phase, arithmetic topics, VII grade SMPN 4 Sungai Raya setting and also to describe the level of validity, prcaiticality, to know the level of student completeness score in the product of student worksheet development. The research method that is used is resource and development (RnD) by adapting Thiagarajan 4D development model. Data source in this research is the result of 3 validators, teacher and student practicality questionnaire, and student worksheet tryouts. Data collection techniques are validators validity questionnaire, practicality questionnaire, student problem test, and documentation of student worksheet used by teacher. The research result showed that during the development of student worksheet containing scientific attitude in discovery learning phase setting was conducted in only 3 phases which are define, design, and development phase. Validity of average percentage of student worksheet in learning aspect was 4.6 or 94% which was in very valid category. In technical/appearance aspect was 4.6 or 92% in very valid category, in compatibility strategy of discovery learning was 4.8 or 97% in very valid category. The practicality utility of student worksheet containing scientific attitude in discovery learning phase setting by teacher was 4.7 in very practical category, and by student was 4.3 in very practical category. The level of completeness in the first tryout was gained in averade percentage of completeness of 100% in very high category and in the second tryout was gained in average percentage of completeness of 87.5% in very high category

Abstract

The goal of this study was to find out how well SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Ambawang students solved two-variable linear equation systems using creative thinking. Case studies are used as the descriptive research method. The research subjects were 6 students with details of 2 having high mathematical abilities, 2 having moderate mathematical abilities, and 2 having low mathematical abilities taken from the average daily test score. Data collection techniques used are tests and interviews. In this study, there were 2 students who met the indicators of fluency, flexibility and novelty, 2 students met the indicators of fluency and flexibility, 2 students met the indicators of fluency. In general, it can be concluded that the students' creative thinking ability in solving the problems of a two-variable system of linear equations in students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungai Ambawang is a student with high mathematical ability, creative thinking ability meets the indicators of fluency, flexibility, and novelty. students who have moderate mathematical ability seem to have not met the novelty indicator. students with low math ability seem to still not be able to meet the flexibility and novelty indicators.Keyword: Creative Thinking Ability, Two-Variable System Of Linear Equations

Abstract

In today's world of education, various approaches can be used as part of contextual learning. Various types of approaches can be applied in learning, one of which is based on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The STEM approach by developing learning teaching materials aims to improve mathematical abilities at various levels of education. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of STEM-based teaching materials in mathematics learning and the success of STEM-based mathematics teaching materials on mathematical abilities. There are 10 articles that have been selected according to the inclusion criteria will be analyzed using the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. The research results obtained in the form of mathematics teaching materials using the STEM approach have proven their validity, practicality and effectiveness when applied in mathematics learning and also show an increase in mathematical abilities at various levels of education. Further research is needed to explore more deeply so that the implementation of the STEM approach can be optimized when implementing mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the mathematical thinking process of students in terms of self confidence in the material of lines and angles. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This research involved 20 students of class VII SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya. The results of this study indicate that students with mathematical thinking processes with high self-confidence when solving line and angle problems are able to identify and translate information into mathematical form, students also apply the concept of lines and angles, can identify elements of the concept then develop it into a procedure, re-examine answers and plan problem solving. Students whose mathematical thinking process with moderate self-confidence when solving line and angle problems are able to identify and translate information into mathematical form, able to apply the concept of line and angle, can identify elements of the concept then developed into procedures, but students answer only until explaining and checking back and cannot plan problem solving. Students whose mathematical thinking process with low self-confidence are only able to identify and translate information into mathematical form and apply the concept of lines and angles, but cannot identify elements of the concept, cannot develop it into a procedure and also cannot explain and check back each step and cannot plan problem solving.
