Abstract

The Symbolic Revitalization of the Alwatzikhoebillah Palace in Post-Colonial Sambas: Preserving Malay Cultural Heritage from a Material History Perspective (2025) examines how the Alwatzikhoebillah Palace was managed and preserved as a form of cultural heritage representing the center of power of the Sambas Sultanate and a symbol of Malay cultural identity. This research uses historical methods with a qualitative approach, through heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. Data collected from palace archives, colonial documents, old photographs, government records, and interviews with prominent figures and the families of the heirs were then analyzed to understand the palace's physical condition, social function, and symbolic meaning as of 2025. The results indicate that several parts of the building, such as the roof, ceiling, and foundation, have deteriorated, necessitating preservation efforts. Conservation efforts include the rehabilitation of building materials, regulation-based conservation, and the preservation of the palace's original form, through collaboration between the government and the community. These efforts not only prevent the loss of historical and cultural value but also strengthen local identity and provide a means of historical education for future generations.

Abstract

This study explores tombstone characteristics to reveal socio-cultural patterns of past societies, particularly in ancient Jambi. Traditional archaeology often relies on qualitative methods, which can overlook underlying patterns in the data. This research addresses that gap by integrating quantitative analysis, specifically cluster analysis, to complement and enhance qualitative interpretations. Using primary data from 50 graves, which include both categorical and continuous variables, the study identifies relationships among tombstone features and classifies them into five distinct clusters. These clusters reflect variations in socio-economic status and illuminate burial practices and cultural traditions of the time. By combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, the research offers a more holistic view of historical contexts and social stratification. The findings underscore the importance of using mixed data clustering in archaeology to uncover patterns that may not be visible through conventional methods alone. This methodological innovation contributes to improving archaeological research practices in Indonesia and has the potential to inform future studies across cultural and historical contexts. Overall, this research not only deepens our understanding of the social fabric of ancient Jambi but also paves the way for broader applications of data-driven approaches in cultural heritage and archaeological investigations.

Abstract

Competition in the online transportation industry requires every service provider to be able to build strong brand awareness to remain remembered and chosen by consumers. This study aims to analyze the marketing communication strategy implemented by JASAKU in increasing brand awareness as a local online transportation service in Aek Kanopan City. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The research informants consisted of JASAKU owners and five consumers. The results of the study indicate that JASAKU's marketing communication strategy reflects the implementation of integrated marketing communication (IMC) through a combination of conventional communication, digital communication and mutually supportive public relations activities. This strategy is carried out through interpersonal communication, the use of social media Instagram and Facebook, and involvement in community social activities. The research findings show that the majority of consumers place JASAKU at the top of mind level, while others are at the brand recall level. This condition indicates that the implemented marketing communication strategy is able to strengthen JASAKU's brand awareness among the people of Aek Kanopan City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of prophetic journalism values into the development of digital marketing competencies in the era of digital media transformation and to formulate a value-based competency model. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study collected data through in-depth interviews with seven informants consisting of Islamic communication scholars, digital marketing practitioners, and senior undergraduate students. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of understanding and implementation of prophetic values in digital marketing practices. The findings reveal that the values of humanization, liberation, and transcendence can be effectively integrated into digital communication strategies, content production, and audience relationship management. The implementation of these values contributes to enhancing credibility, integrity, ethical responsibility, and professional sustainability among digital marketing practitioners. The novelty of this study lies in the formulation of the Prophetic Digital Marketing Competence (PDMC) model, which integrates digital marketing competencies with prophetic journalism values as an ethical foundation for digital communication practices. The study concludes that prophetic values remain highly relevant as a moral framework for developing digital marketing competencies in the contemporary digital media landscape.

Abstract

Zakat is an important instrument in Islam that functions as a means of wealth distribution and community economic empowerment. The development of the modern economy has given rise to various new forms of wealth, encouraging the emergence of contemporary zakat thought, including that of Yusuf al-Qardhawi and Buya Hamka. This study aims to analyze the views of both scholars on zakat objects and examine their relevance to zakat management practices at BAZNAS Mandailing Natal Regency. The research employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Primary data were collected through interviews and documentation, while secondary data were obtained from classical works, books, scholarly articles, and relevant official documents. Data were analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The findings reveal that Yusuf al-Qardhawi's ideas are reflected in zakat collection practices through the recognition of professional income zakat, the utilization of banking systems, and institutional zakat management. Meanwhile, Buya Hamka's thought is reflected in zakat distribution practices that emphasize social justice, solidarity, and public welfare through educational, health, socio-religious, and economic empowerment programs. Nevertheless, zakat distribution at BAZNAS Mandailing Natal Regency remains predominantly consumptive in nature, although efforts have been made to promote productive programs aimed at enhancing the self-reliance of beneficiaries (mustahik).
