Abstract

This research analyzed the implementation of self-management (SM) strategies, an intervention to facilitate academic and non-academic students’ learning processes. This systematic literature review used an application named, the Publish or Perish 8 program, with a Scopus index. In this research, the applied inclusion criterion was - recent 5-year published articles from 2017-2022. The researchers used PRISMA 2020 concept model with some stages: 1) identifying the articles, 2) screening the articles, 3) checking the eligibility, and 4) using the articles. The researchers applied meta-synthesis data analysis. The results showed that SM strategy implementation could overcome academic problems, and influence learning continuity, balance, motivation, on-task behavior, and learning outcomes. SM strategy could also manage the students' non-academic problems, such as improving self-confidence, future-decision responsibility, and social involvement. The effectiveness of the SM strategy should also consider the student achievement levels, the experience of disability, and general and specific circumstances at schools. Thus, this strategy could deal with certain situations so SM strategy formulation must consider the student's needs.

The study aims to reveal the existence of the traditional pesantren education system (salaf) in shaping the morals of students in the midst of modernizing education. Traditional Islamic boarding schools are currently till a reference for the community, even thousands of people who participate in activities held by traditional pesantren, such as recitation and istighosah. The method used in this study was a case study using a qualitative research approach. This research had the subject of the kyai, teacher, male student, and female student at the Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School, OKU, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. This study was analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s data analysis techniques : data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion and verification. This study found that the resilience of the pesantren education system in shaping the morals of students in the era of globalization had strong endurance and continuity because it has four system functions. First, the system of adaptation to the pesantren education environment is carried out with a twenty-four-hour education pattern to shape the students' morals. Second, Islamic boarding schools have educational goals to shape the personality of students who have noble characters.  Third, the integration of pesantren has integrated both the institutional system and the curriculum. Fourth, there is the maintenance of the cultural pattern (latency) of the value system in the pesantren.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop an integrated model of Arabic-speaking teaching materials with 21st-century skills and the value of local wisdom. This study used a mixed method approach, combining research and development techniques (R and D) using the Borg and Gall model. Participants were teachers (to do the peer assessment of the product / n = 3), experts (Arabic materials, curriculum / n = 2), and students (to get the needs analysis / n = 100). Data collection techniques include observations, questionnaires, tests, documents, and interviews. Data analysis uses qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results of this show that the model of teaching materials that have been developed is feasible to be applied in Arabic-speaking classes. The findings also show that the designed teaching materials have local wisdom values that can act as authentic materials. These teaching materials can not only build 21st-century skills but also build character education through the value of local wisdom. So, teaching materials that are integrated with the skills needs of the 21st century can facilitate learning objectives in producing quality graduates.

Abstract

This study aims to describe perceptions, practicum results, and students' creative thinking skills in online and offline practicums. This research is ex post facto. The subjects of this study were 70 students of the 2016 and 2017 batches of the Department of Biology Education, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The two batches experienced different treatments; the 2016 batch took offline practicums, while the 2017 batch took practicums online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The research instruments consisted of (1) student perception sheets, (2) tests, and (3) creative thinking skills assessment instruments. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using one-way ANOVA and Hotelling's T2. The study results show students' perceptions of offline and online practicum. Students tend to understand the material better in offline practicum than online, and students also think that offline practicum is more interesting than online. Other findings indicate that students find it difficult to understand procedures in online practicums compared to offline ones. In addition, students experience technical problems in offline practicums, especially those related to networks. In contrast, technical issues can be overcome in online practicums because students can consult directly with practicum assistants. Analysis of student practicum results shows no difference between offline and online practicum results from the aspects of understanding and activeness. Meanwhile, from the aspect of report value, the online practicum is better than the offline one. This study also shows that students' creative thinking skills in offline practicums are higher than online in terms of the four aspects of creative thinking and three aspects of assessment, namely data analysis, work methods, and lists of references. In general, student perceptions, practicum results and creative thinking skills in offline practicums are better than in online ones.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the policy of implementing MBKM at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) based on Edu-Technopreneurship. The research method used is the descriptive qualitative approach. The subject of this study is all UNIPMA lecturers, students, and staff. The data collection technique used (1) a survey from the Ministry of Education and Research and Technology that had been adapted to the Edu-Technoprenership-based UNIPMA MBKM program, (2) a survey given to faculty leaders, (3) analysis of the MBKM implementation document. The data were analyzed descriptively. The result shows that UNIPMA already has policies and guidelines for MBKM Edutechnopreneurship activities. The study program also has a curriculum, MBKM guidelines, and standard operational guidelines for implementing MBKM activities according to the characteristics of each study program. Policies and guidelines owned by universities and study programs have been socialized offline and online, but each has not been optimal. There are still lecturers, students, and staff who have not received complete information regarding policies, curriculum, and guidelines related to the implementation of MBKM. It is recommended to formulate policies at the university and faculty level to disseminate policies, curriculum, and other tools related to MBKM edutechnopreneurship. The implementation of MBKM has a positive impact on additional competencies such as skills in solving complex real problems, improving soft skills, and according to future needs. However, there are still 7% of students who are worried that their study period will be longer. With the correct and appropriate MBKM socialization policy, as well as testimonials from MBKM activity participants, it is hoped that the concerns of prospective MBKM participants can be reduced. Students are very interested and enthusiastic in participating in MBKM activities especially to connect their  competencies with the industrial world. The form of the internship is the most sought after by students.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the issue of the relationship between locality and globality which is the practice of Sasak puppets in teaching global literary values. The research was conducted on the work on the play Brambang Ulung, one of Amir Hamzah's series of stories in the Sasak puppet. The method combines ethnographic studies, video recordings, literature reviews and interviews. Processing the data using the movie avi 15 plus and excel. This research applies discourse analysis and representation of the Bourdieusian model. Data analysis showed that the field practice lasted all night around 6:56:21 (six hours and fifty-six minutes and twenty-one seconds, divided into preparation, 0.27:20 or 6.75%; modal gending with a duration of 1:30:47 or 21.80%; and the play modal with a duration 4:58:18 or 71.63%. The analysis of the play modal with a duration of 4:58:18, found the main play modal is in Middle Javanese language, 2:35:51 or 52.26%; the intermediate play modal is in Middle Javanese and Sasak language, with time duration 0:52:40 or 17.66%; and Sasak language play modal with a duration of 1:29:43 or 30.08%. This study reveals the global (Arabic) literary value of Amir Hamzah's story, including da'wah. This practice is a legacy of local teaching networks and pre-modern global. Ricci termed this network with Arab Kosmopolis, a literary network that forms a network of ummah. Pre-modern models of local and global relations, such as in the field practice of Sasak puppets, appear grounded. This is different from the model in local textbooks, wayang Sasak and other local contexts are taught as complementary.
