Abstract

This study aims to develop p-book and e-book-based modules that are valid, practical, and effective in the Archipelago Ornament Course and the Batik Craft Course in the Fine Arts Department. This research method used research and development with the 4-D development model (Four-D Models), namely: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research instrument used a questionnaire with a Likert scale, while the data analysis technique consisted of validity data analysis, practicality data analysis, and effectiveness test data analysis. The results of this study indicated that: a) the validity value of the module was 79.25%, and the module was a pretty valid category; b) the value of the practicality of the module by students was 85.33%, and the module was included in the practical category in the learning process, and c) the average value of student activity (reading modules, asking questions, answering questions, and completing assignments) observed in the learning process and student learning outcomes was 82.81% which can be category as very active students and modules were category as effective. It showed that p-book and e-book-based modules were quite valid, practical, and effective in the learning process in the Archipelago Ornament Course and the Batik Craft Course in the Fine Arts Department, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Medan.

Abstract

This research aims to uncover the causes of errors in solving numeracy problems related to trigonometry among students with a strongly field-independent cognitive style. The research method employs a case study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study are students of class XI MA Ibadurrochman Malang. The instrument in this study consists of the main instrument, namely the researcher himself and supporting instruments consisting of GEFT (Group Embedded Figure Test) sheets and Numeration Problem Solving Test Sheets (TPMN) and interview guidelines. This data analysis technique used interactive model analysis. The research findings indicate that the causes of student errors in solving numeracy problems are primarily rooted in their previous knowledge, which results in these errors. In other words, their previous knowledge is unable to serve as a foundational material for generating ideas in solving new problems encountered. These new problems related to trigonometry are used not only to apply previously acquired knowledge to the issues at hand but also to learn new mathematical concepts. Consequently, numeracy problems become a solution for students to study mathematics coherently.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of e-learning management through online learning information systems called sibering at the Faculty of Economics, Jakarta State University. The research used a qualitative approach using the case study. Determination of informants in this study using purposive and snowball techniques. Informants in the research were lecturers, students, and e-learning administrators. Data collection techniques in qualitative research were carried out in natural conditions, using primary sources (directly providing data) and observation, interview, documentation, and triangulation methods. The data analysis technique in this study was the data analysis of the Miles and Huberman models, including data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion/verification. The results of the data analysis concluded that sibering had a positive and effective impact on the implementation of e-learning. The results of the system approach model analysis concluded that the learning objectives and the preparation of learning plans were by university standards. The QAIT approach model includes learning system governance that refers to quality operational standards, and the Kirkpatrick approach model includes program evaluations taken from learning outcomes and student satisfaction, which has shown changes in student graduation rates in each course.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relevance between blended learning and students' independent learning curriculum in the digital age. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach to gather and analyze data from diverse participants. Multiple data collection techniques were utilized to ensure a comprehensive and in-depth exploration of the research topic. The sample included teachers from different educational levels, students with varying academic backgrounds, and educational administrators with experience in curriculum development and implementation. Procedures Data analysis involved several iterative steps. Based on the research results, it was found that a strong connection between blended learning and promoting independent learning skills among students. Challenges were identified in effectively incorporating an independent learning curriculum within the blended learning environment. The study highlighted the importance of teacher support, collaborative opportunities, and access to Technology and resources in enhancing the effectiveness of blended learning and independent learning practices. These findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on digital-age education and provide insights for educators and policymakers in designing practical instructional approaches that empower students' independent learning skills in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover students' perceptions of digital learning in terms of emotions. The study is conducted in the context of the post-pandemic era. The research used a cross-sectional design study with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consist of 112 students aged 18-24 years, distributed in several regions of Indonesia. The data were collected by using a Microsoft Forms questionnaire. Data analysis is carried out using a multi-stage process and pattern coding of responses. The findings of this study indicate the presence of themes related to both positive moments and emotional challenges experienced by students during digital learning. Based on these findings, this study suggests that lecturers should continue to practice recognizing students' contexts so that pedagogical strategies through the application of technology can be implemented to the fullest extent.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the principal leadership styles of Christian religious secondary schools in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. The informants in the study were teachers, vice principal, and school principal in a Christian religious secondary school. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews. Subsequently, the data was analyzed using deductive thematic analysis, and its validity was checked using triangulation. The study results showed that the principal implemented five leadership styles in a Christian religious secondary school: paternalistic, charismatic, servant, transformational, and autocratic. This study indicates that leadership styles are urgently needed to improve Christian religious education quality; however, they are still limited in the literature. Therefore, the Ministry of Religion Affairs, particularly the Directorate General for Christian Community Guidance, should create a concise policy on leadership competency for Christian religious school principals. Furthermore, each principal in Christian religious schools should carry out various leadership styles properly to enhance management and leadership practices in their educational organizations.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the problems that arise when implementing zoning as a method of student admission and find possible solutions. This study used the systematic literature review method with a qualitative approach. The data collection method used was documentation, namely examining documents in the form of books, literature, and scientific journals related to the topics written in this journal. Data was collected from reviewing the official website of eric.gov, Sinta, Scopus, and Garuda. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The result of the study showed some of the main problems in implementing zoning-based admissions. These include the problem of establishing fair and equitable zoning boundaries, enrollment procedures that often need to be more transparent, the accumulation of students in good schools in the zone, and the need for more awareness and active participation from parents. Several solutions can be considered to address these issues. Such as increased investment in education infrastructure development by the government and the implementation of a strict monitoring system for the admission process based on zoning, and the government also needs to strengthen schools in vulnerable zone areas with various quality and facility improvement programs. This policy will help provide a more inclusive and high-quality education for all students by analyzing and addressing the issues that arise when implementing zoning-based admissions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student perceptions regarding civic education learning in tertiary institutions, student perceptions regarding their national identity as Indonesians, and considerations needed for the reconstruction of civic education in Higher Education. This study used a mixed method with a sequential exploratory approach. Data was collected through surveys and interviews. A total of 160 respondents were involved in the survey. Interviews were conducted with 3 senior lecturers who teach Civic Education courses at State Universities in Bandung. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and verification through Structural Equation Modeling methods and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The study results showed that the teaching of Civic Education must be able to build student interest through the application of teaching methods that are appropriate, creative, contextual, and in accordance with student needs. Civic Education learning must also be able to strengthen students’ awareness of the importance of national identity to prevent them from attitudes and behaviors inconsistent with the nation’s noble values. Civic education reconstruction efforts must be based on real problems faced by lecturers and students in Civic Education learning, especially by considering the clarity of goals, the focus of change, the challenges of citizenship in the global era, and the concrete situations that are developing in society. This study is needed to provide an appropriate basis for the formulation and implementation of the reconstruction of civic education to strengthen the Indonesian nation’s national identity.
