Abstract

Tjilik Riwut Street, Palangka Raya city, is a road with quite dense traffic, so that it can cause traffic problems, especially traffic accidents. This study aims to determine the level of traffic accidents on the Tjilik Riwut road Kms0+000dto Kms12+000dPalangkasRaya City and the areas where accidents often occur, the time of the accident and the cause of the accident. Thus it will be known what efforts cansbe madesto overcome the accident that occurred. The approachbusedfin thisfresearch is descriptive percentage analysis which is the process of describing the research location. The results of the study, it was obtained that the accident rate in 2018 was 22 accidents, in 2019 there were 35 accidents, in 2020 there were 25 accidents, in 2021 there were 34 accidents and in 2022 there were 39 accidents. Points that often occur accidents are at Km 1, Km 5, Km 8 and Km 10. Factors causing accidents in accident-prone areas on the Tjilik Riwut Km 2 road in Palangka Raya city are due to driver conditions (91%), road and environmental conditions (9%) and vehicle damage (0%). The most frequent accident time is between 06.00 – 12.00 WIB (33%). Double accidents are the most common type of accident (73%). Accidents often occur at the age of 21-30 years (27%).

Abstract

Transportation is one of the essential means of human needs. In this modern era and with the increasing population density in urban areas, transportation is highly necessary to meet an individual's needs in carrying out activities or moving from one place to another, whether it be short distances or long distances. Transportation is the lifeline of national development in facilitating the flow of people, goods, and information as a support for the optimal allocation of economic resources. Therefore, transportation services must be adequately available, evenly distributed, and affordable to the purchasing power of the society. Data on the components of vehicle operational costs were obtained through an interview with the manager of PO. Logos buses, and then the data were analyzed using the Pacific Consultants International (PCI) method, and the amount of vehicle operating costs incurred by PO. Logos. To determine the Ability To Pay (ATP) and Willingness To Pay (WTP) values, the required data is obtained through the distribution of a questionnaire via Google Form, which is filled out by passengers of the PO. Logos bus company. The data analysis results indicate that the operational cost of the vehicle is 15,065.6753/km and the fare based on the Cost of Service (COS) is Rp. 106,811.133, based on the Ability To Pay (ATP) is Rp. 145,054.33, and the Willingness To Pay (WTP) value is Rp. 101,903.00. A primary survey needs to be conducted to obtain the existing load factor value for tariff calculations.

Abstract

Slope is the difference in elevation of a land surface with a varying angle of inclination. Disasters that commonly occur on slopes are landslides caused by the loss of stability on a slope. One of the determinants of slope stability is the strength of the material that makes up the slope to resist collapse. Generally, slope stability analysis only refers to the values of cohesion (c) and soil shear angle (ø), without taking into account the weak plane on the slope. Landslides that occur on slopes generally occur partially. Partial landslides are caused by the presence of weak areas on the slope. The process of identifying weak areas in the slope uses the geoelectric method. The use of geo-electrical methods through field surveys in the form of resistivity tomography aims to model 2D subsurface layers so that it is known which layers have the potential to become weak areas in the form of cracks in the slope. While the process of identifying changes in slope stability due to the presence of weak areas based on the position of cracks using the help of FEM (finite element method) software The purpose of this research is to identify the weak plane of the slope based on the position of cracks and their effect on slope stability. The results of geoelectric testing showed the presence of weak areas in the form of cracks formed in the slope based on the resistivity value of (731.28–1712.55) Ωm. The results of the analysis of changes in slope stability due to the presence of weak areas in the form of cracks in the slope show a decrease in the safety factor (SF) value, which previously had a safety factor (SF) value of 4.272 to 3.630.

Abstract

In Indonesia, climate change is causing extreme weather and increasing natural disasters, affecting various aspects of life, including infrastructure. Concrete, as the main construction material in infrastructure development, has major environmental challenges due to the production of cement, which contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, efforts are needed to partially replace the use of cement with more environmentally friendly materials, one of which is the use of eggshell waste. Eggshells contain calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), which is chemically similar to materials such as lime and fly ash commonly used in concrete mixes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of eggshell waste substitution on compressive strength and potential reduction in concrete production costs. Several variations of cement substitution with eggshell (0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%) were used in the production of concrete. This research uses an experimental approach with quantitative research methods. The results showed that the use of eggshell was maximum at 2.5%. From an economic point of view, the use of eggshell as a cement substitute can significantly reduce the cost of concrete production, especially at a replacement level of about 10%. This study provides recommendations for the use of eggshell waste in the construction industry as a more environmentally friendly and economical alternative, supporting the principle of circular economy and reducing the carbon footprint of concrete production. However, further research is needed to optimize the correct substitution dosage and improve the particle distribution in the concrete mix for more consistent results.

Abstract

Haji Muhammad Sidik Airport in Barito Utara plays a crucial role as an air transportation hub and a catalyst for regional development. Based on 2024 data, the airport served 20,750 passengers, while future projections estimate an increase of up to 90,000 passengers annually. The existing terminal is therefore considered inadequate to accommodate this growth, necessitating a redesign that responds to capacity and comfort challenges. This study proposes a passenger terminal design using a Postmodern architectural approach with the substyle of Post Capital Sustainability. This approach emphasizes ecological and spiritual sustainability through the integration of passive design strategies, local materials, and a deep connection to the landscape and local culture. The design process is directly guided by the principles of Post Capital Sustainability and is carried out through literature review, precedent study, comparative analysis, site observation, and user needs assessment. The results show that design strategies such as natural ventilation (stack effect), daylight optimization, the use of local materials, and a gable roof form aligned with the Barito River flow enhance thermal comfort and contextual aesthetics. This approach offers an alternative airport architectural model that is not only efficient and responsive to tropical climates, but also reflects local values in a more humanistic and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Orphanages are social institutions that provide shelter for orphans and abandoned children due to family dysfunction. In Indonesia, most orphanages are managed by communities, resulting in varying quality of physical environments. A case study at Ayah Bunda Orphanage in Palangka Raya reveals issues such as low social interaction and high levels of loneliness among children. These conditions are worsened by conventional building designs with minimal spaces for play, interaction, and shared learning. A monotonous and enclosed environment hinders children's social and emotional development. This research aims to design a new orphanage complex using a child-friendly architectural approach that integrates principles of safety, comfort, accessibility, creativity stimulation, spatial flexibility, social interaction, and connection with nature. Through a descriptive qualitative method and case study, the design seeks to create a safe, inclusive living environment that supports children’s holistic development. This architectural proposal is expected to serve as a solution to social isolation among orphanage children by offering participatory, open, and engaging spaces.

Abstract

The need for palliative care and hospice services in Indonesia continues to increase, but the availability of facilities remains limited due to a suboptimal referral system between healthcare services. Hospice, as part of palliative care, focuses on improving the quality of life of terminally ill patients through a holistic approach encompassing medical, emotional, social, psychological, and spiritual aspects. Based on the Peaceful End of Life theory, the creation of comfort, tranquility, and respect for patient dignity are the main principles in the treatment room. Therefore, a space that supports healing is needed, including through the relationship between humans and nature, which can be realized through a biophilic architectural approach. This study aims to design a hospice facility with a biophilic architectural approach, in order to create a healing environment connected to nature to support patient tranquility and comfort. The method used is descriptive qualitative through literature studies, comparative studies, precedent studies, site analysis, and the formulation of a design concept.

Abstract

Palangka Raya City, as the capital of Central Kalimantan Province, plays a strategic role as a center of government, economic, social, and cultural activities. Along with urban development and the increasing demand for regional, national, and international-scale events, a representative convention facility is required to accommodate various activities such as conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and public events. However, to date, Palangka Raya does not yet have a Convention Centre that adequately meets standards in terms of capacity, spatial flexibility, and architectural quality. This Final Project aims to design a Convention Centre in Palangka Raya City using a contemporary architectural approach that addresses functional requirements, aesthetic values, and building sustainability. The design methodology applied includes descriptive methods to examine existing conditions and urban needs, comparative methods through precedent studies of similar buildings, data analysis related to site conditions, spatial programming, and technical standards, as well as the BASIC design method (Brief, Analysis, Synthesis, Implementation, and Concept). The contemporary architectural approach is implemented through spatial flexibility, integration of modern technology, the use of innovative materials, and dynamic massing that responds to the local context. The result of this project is a Convention Centre design concept featuring main facilities such as an auditorium, exhibition hall, and meeting rooms with a flexible multi-layout hall system. This design is expected to serve as a representative venue for convention and exhibition activities, support the growth of the creative economy and tourism sector, and become a new landmark contributing to the development and urban image of Palangka Raya City.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of concrete quality control to ensure the safety and performance of building structures, particularly in the construction of Madrasah Aliyah Jombang. The objective of this research is to analyze the compressive strength of concrete and evaluate its conformity with the design strength of K-250. The method used is a quantitative approach through laboratory experiments by testing the compressive strength of cylindrical specimens at various ages. Samples were taken from several structural elements, including bore piles, pile caps, tie beams, columns, and working slabs. The results indicate that the compressive strength values are within and slightly exceed the planned strength, with a general trend of increasing strength as the concrete ages. Although minor fluctuations occur at certain ages, the overall pattern shows stability at later ages. These findings suggest that the material quality, mix composition, and construction practices have met the required standards. The results of this study can serve as a reference for quality control in similar construction projects to ensure structural safety and performance.

Abstract

The construction industry is one of the primary contributors to environmental degradation through carbon emissions, excessive energy use, and waste. In response to these challenges, green construction has emerged as a sustainable development approach that minimizes negative impacts on the environment. This study employs an explanatory quantitative research method using a questionnaire survey approach. Data analysis was conducted through “validity and reliability tests” using SPSS 25.0, descriptive analysis (mean, standard deviation, and TCR), and “Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS)” for factor analysis and to test relationships between variables. Based on the results of the PLS-SEM analysis, it was found that factor X2.2 had an outer weight of 0.804, an outer weight p-value of 0.006, and an outer loading of 0.955, while factor X1.1 had an outer weight of 0.765, an outer weight p-value of 0.029, and an outer loading of 0.925. The success rate of green construction implementation stands at 36.47%, which is low. The dominant factors influencing the implementation rate of GC in building projects in Palangka Raya are financial and management/human resources factors, followed by regulatory and government factors. “The influence of each factor is as follows: regulatory and government factors have a positive and significant influence; financial and management/human resources factors also have a positive and significant influence; while technical and technological factors have a negative and insignificant influence
