Abstract

Open-pit mining can lead to the degradation of environmental quality in the areas where mining activities occur, one of which is the presence of mining wastewater that can disrupt ecosystems. The purpose of this study is to understand the liming process on mining wastewater samples and to determine the effect of quicklime on the quality of mining wastewater. The methods used in this research include qualitative and descriptive approaches. The research location is at CV. BK in Lemo I Village, Teweh Tengah District, and Bintang Ninggi I and II Villages in Teweh Selatan District. The study was conducted in early 2023. The data for this research consists of primary data, including mining wastewater samples, the quality of mining water, and doses of quicklime; as well as secondary data, including environmental management maps, regional geological maps, and location maps.

Abstract

Its increasingly rapid development, Palangka Raya City is also developing rapidly through more advanced and competitive infrastructure. Hotels are a supporter of the economy and tourism in increasing economic and tourism growth in the City of Palangka Raya. Hotels are lodging facilities that provide accommodation, food and additional services to guests visiting Palangka Raya City. The aim of designing the hotel is to utilize building technology that applies the concept of green architecture. Design methods using qualitative methods are explored from comparative study analysis and precedent analysis. The comparative study uses a hotel function approach based on observing building objects with the same function to determine the type of hotel, types of rooms offered, circulation arrangements, utility networks and hotel facilities. Analysis of precedent studies using a green architecture approach through site analysis, circulation, analysis of renewable energy needs, shape and building appearance. The results of the Green Architecture plan in this Hotel building are implemented by utilizing reprocessed rainwater for user needs and watering plants, utilizing sunlight for natural lighting and storing thermal energy using solar panels to save energy, providing natural ventilation to obtain optimal space ventilation, also the application of a roof garden as a garden and to shade the space of a multi-story building. Green architecture applied in buildings is able to save energy and costs and does not damage the surrounding environment

Abstract

Urban drainage channels are very easily contaminated by pollutants from household waste, industrial waste, and other liquid waste. Therefore, the main (primary) drainage channels have the potential to affect water quality in the Sebangau River. This study aims to determine the contribution of pollutants from drainage channels. The location of this study is in the Jekan Raya District, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan Province, precisely in one of the primary drainage channels with a total length of drainage channels with a distance of ± 3.6 km to the Sebangau River outlet located on Jl.Tampung Penyang. To obtain the flow rate in the drainage channel, the water velocity and water level are measured in each rai to obtain the cross-sectional area of ​​the channel, then the water discharge is calculated by multiplying the velocity and cross-sectional area of ​​the channel. Water quality is analyzed in the laboratory based on several predetermined parameters such as acidity level (pH), TSS, ammonia, detergent, BOD, COD, oil and fat, and after all data is collected, Anova statistical analysis is carried out to determine the relationship between water level and each parameter. The results obtained indicate that fluctuations in water levels in the main drainage channel, in the middle, affect the parameters of detergent pollutants only, indicated by the value of R2 = 0.593 (moderate), and the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.770 indicating that the relationship between fluctuations in water levels and detergent parameters has a strong correlation. However, for several other pollutant parameters observed, namely pH correlation coefficient (r) = - 0.590 (fairly correlated), TSS correlation coefficient (r) = - 0.500 (fairly correlated), ammonia correlation coefficient (r) = - 0.889 (fairly correlated), BOD correlation coefficient (r) = 0.041 (very weakly correlated), COD correlation coefficient (r) = - 0.250 (weakly correlated), oil and fat correlation coefficient (r) = 0.400 (fairly correlated). Showing that pollutants in the form of detergents from the main drainage channel contribute to pollution of water bodies in the Sebangau River.

Abstract

The problem of increasing energy demand must be balanced with energy production. The development of water-powered energy is one alternative solution for the sustainability of life on earth. The Savonius Hydrokinetic Turbine is a type of hydroelectric power plant that can convert kinetic energy into electrical energy. River currents as a renewable energy source can rotate the turbine and convert it into electricity through a generator. This study aims to determine the effect of a 180˚ twist change on the Savonius Tornado Helical Hydrokinetic Turbine with a variation of the lower end plate smaller than the upper end plate. The research method was carried out by testing 4 turbine variations, namely the Savonius Hydrokinetic Turbine and the Savonius Tornado Helical Hydrokinetic Turbine D / 2, 3D / 4 and 4D / 4, where D is the diameter of the turbine end plate. The testing process was carried out in an open prismatic channel with variations in flow speed of 0.331 m / s, 0.396 m / s and 0.486 m / s. The results of the study showed that the Savonius Hydrokinetic Turbine produced a Cp (Coefficient of power) value of 0.114 - 0.226 and a TSR (Tip Speed ​​Ratio) of 1.550 - 1.775. The performance of the Savonius Tornado Helical Hydrokinetic Turbine with end plate D / 2 was significantly higher than the Savonius Hydrokinetic Turbine, with an increase in Cp value of 11% and TSR of 12.6%. The Savonius Tornado Helical Hydrokinetic Turbine with end plate 3D / 4 increased the Cp and TSR values ​​by 6.6% and 10%. While the Savonius Tornado Helical Hydrokinetic Turbine with end plate 4D / 4 was able to increase the Cp value by 0.4% and TSR by 2.4%.

Abstract

The mining method used by CV Kalimantan Makmur is blasting. One of the impacts of blasting is flying rocks (flyrock). At the quarry and crusher locations at CV Kalimantan Makmur, they are close together, and sometimes geometric mismatches or excessive explosives cause excessive flyrock throwing and the direction of the flyrock is not in accordance with estimates. For this reason, a prediction model for the throw distance is needed that is close to the actual distance to optimize the geometry to increase safety from the impact of blasting. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection uses direct measurement methods, tracker software, and theories. The study obtained the results of 8 actual field observations of the flyrock distance, one of which reached 311 meters, and other observations at a distance of 40-60 meters. From the evaluation results, it was due to excessive explosive filling in one of the holes. While based on the flyrock tracker software, the furthest is 63.03 meters, and the other is 40-70 meters, the percentage difference is -9.98%, almost close to the actual. Predictions according to Richard & Moore obtained 140.37 meters of face busting, 92.63 meters of cratering, and 64.2 meters of rifling. The percentage is close to the actual face bursting, it is recommended to pay attention to the burden distance to reduce the distance of the flyrock throw. While the prediction of parabolic motion, the furthest distance is 92.63 meters, approaching a quarter of the actual flyrock distance. The conclusion from the results obtained, it is recommended to control the flyrock stemming length or the material used.

Abstract

Water is a variety of needs in everyday life. Raw water in Palangka Raya City is still influenced by peat water which has a low pH, while river water has quite high turbidity due to sedimentation. For residential areas that are far from the reach of PDAM, it will be difficult to get clean water and there is no fast technology to handle the decrease in acidity. An alternative innovation that can be used by people who are far from the reach of PDAM is to use appropriate technology tools for wasp nest water purifiers. The purpose of the study was to obtain a comparison of water treatment results from several variations of non-natural filter media in wasp nest water purifiers against pH and TDS. The method used in this experimental test was to test short, medium, and high wasp nest water purifiers with a filtration hole size of 0.25 cm and a distance between holes of 0.5 cm. The volume of non-natural filter media in various sizes of wasp nest water purifiers was conditioned the same in each experiment. The filtration process uses 4 pumps with a pump discharge of 45 l/minute each. The results obtained indicate that the filtration type water purifier functions well and is able to increase pH. There is an increase in the TDS parameter because during the water circulation process there is uncontrolled mixing of the filter media.

Abstract

Sedimentation in the flow of the river must occur, one of the causes of this sedimentation process is the currents and ebb and flow of water. Tides are fluctuations in sea level due to the attractive force of objects in the sky, especially the sun and moon on the mass of seawater on earth (Triadmodjo, 1999). Air circulation due to tidal currents can carry sediment material contained in these waters so currents and tides in water will affect the distribution of sediment in these waters. The purpose of this research is to examine the literature regarding sedimentation that occurs in river bodies. This research method uses descriptive quantitative research methods with a literature review approach. The stages of the research were carried out starting from article collection, article reduction, discussion, and conclusions. The data sources for this research were in the form of national journal articles in the last 10 years (2013-2022). The results of this literature review show that of the 12 articles reviewed, 8 articles were found that were relevant to the research objectives

Abstract

PT Bhumi Rantau Energi is one of the mining companies engaged in coal with a surface mining method, which forms a basin on the surface so that it has the potential to cause water ingress into the mining pit area. The mining direction of PT Bhumi Rantau Energi is towards seam G precisely in the south sandalwood sump, for this reason it is necessary to maintain the water elevation in the sump so as not to overflow, reduce and drain the water in the sump because there will be coal mining activities in the south sandalwood sump area. For this reason, it is necessary to know the pumping discharge needed to cope with the water entering the south sandalwood sump. Measurement of pumping discharge is carried out by the discharge method, namely using an L-shaped measuring instrument at the pumping outlet so that the discharge of the DND 200-MHX pump is 397.90 m3 / hour with an efficiency of 76% while the MF 420-EXH pump is 493.69 m3 / hour with an efficiency of 70%.  Based on the results of the pumping analysis, to maximize the pumping discharge, it is necessary to operate the pump simultaneously which aims to produce a maximum pumping discharge in dealing with water in the south sandal sump, and it is necessary to carry out pumping maintenance so that the resulting pumping discharge is greater.

Abstract

Road pavement is one part of road construction. Teluk Bua Road is a very important transportation route for the growth path of various aspects in Katingan Regency. Based on observations made, the Teluk Bua road section is often damaged. Types of road damage that occur include rutting, settlement, and upheaval or swell are characterized by bumpy road surfaces with damage levels from mild to severe. This study aims as a literature study to analyze the performance of the composition of the resulting mixture and analyze the value of free compressive strength of the resulting mixture, as well as to determine the stages of implementation in the field. One of the innovations in cost savings, the Cement Treated Recycling Base (CTRB) method is used in road foundation layer work. In the plan, there are variations in cement content of 7% to be reviewed, namely: The results of the study on the free compressive strength of CTRB cylinders with cement variation materials can be known from the mixture of Existing Material Ex. Teluk Bua (RAP) 65% + Additional Material Foundation Layer Class A Ex.Hampangen 35% + 7% cement added material which is 31.21 kg/ cm2. From this graph, the value of Dry Content Weight (MDD) used is 2.159 gr/m3, Optimum Water Content (OMC) is 6.44%. From the calculation results, the CBR Value of Plan = 86.33%.

Abstract

Areas in Indonesia are prone to earthquakes, so it is necessary to plan a structure that can withstand the lateral forces caused by the earthquake. Shear walls are very effective in resisting lateral forces due to their high stiffness. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the location of shear walls on structures subjected to earthquake loads according to SNI 1726-2019. 7 structural models were created, namely 1 model without a shear wall and 6 models plus a shear wall with the same area and location which were divided into 2 models each in the core area, transition area and edge area and analyzed with software ETABS. Results of analysis are time period, story drift and moments of column in all models are then compared. Obtaining the value of the small time period by placing the shear wall at the edge of the building, with the highest stiffness value. Obtain the value of the story drift in the direction of the small long axis by placing a shear wall in the core area of the building, with a relatively small stiffness value. While value of the short axis deviation story drift by placing a shear wall in the transition area with a small stiffness. Small column moments value by the location of the shear wall in the transition area has the smallest maximum column moment value with a relatively small stiffness. The rigidity of the frame structure is greatest by placing shear wall at the edges of the building.
