Abstract

Pharmaceutical service is a responsible service directly to patients related to pharmaceutical preparations with the aim of achieving is to improve patient life quality. Service quality always be complained by patient when get treatment in the Public Health. Worse service, unfriendly, slow service is a factor that affects the quality of service. The level of satisfaction is a comparison function between performance obtained and expectations. When performance is below expectations, the customer will disappointed and vice versa. This research to know the correlation the quality of pharmacy services with outpatient satisfication in the Purwodadi II Public Health. This research used an analytical observational method with a cross sectional design with a sample technique using purposive sampling technique. This data is main data by filling out questionnaires of patients that seeking treatment in the Purwodadi II Health. The process of data analysis in this study are 1. Editing 2. Coding 3. Scoring 4. Tabulating. From the results of this study, it was found that there was a significant relationship between service quality dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibels outpatient pharmacy with the level of satisfaction at Puskesmas Purwodadi II with a p-value of reliability dimension 0.001, responsiveness 0.002, assurance 0.001, empathy 0.000, and tangibels 0.000(p-value<0,05).

Abstract

Dragon scale (Drymoglossum piloselloides) leaf is a plant that contains secondary metabolites with antioxidant potential. This plant is known for its easy to grow nature and has a wide habitat distribution. The extraction method using acetone solvent has been proven effective in extracting secondary metabolites from this plant. To improve the extraction efficiency, this study used an optimization approach using the Central Composite Design (CCD) method. CCD involves three main factors in extraction experiments, namely solvent concentration, extraction time, and extraction temperature. Experiments were conducted with variations of these factors to find the optimal extraction conditions. The results of CCD method showed that the solvent concentration of 70%, extraction temperature at 52°C, and extraction time of 60 minutes. Statistical analysis showed that the model used was significant, with an F-value of 9.20 and a P-value less than 0.01159, indicating that the factors tested had a significant effect on the extraction results. The results of this study have great potential in maximizing the use of dragon scale leaves as a source of antioxidant secondary metabolites.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the formulation of Transparent Soap Preparations from Areca Seed Extract (Areca catechu L.). The purpose of the study was to find out the best formula for transparent soap preparations for areca nut extract. The type of this research is descriptive method with laboratory experimental approaches. The research was carried out at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Jayapura University of Science and Technology. The population used in this study was Betel Nuts in the Yatu Raharja Village (Arso x) District, District Arso, Keerom Regency. The number of samples in the study was 3 kg. The basic ingredients are taken from betel nut and the active ingredients are taken from maceration for three times twenty four hours using 70% ethanol as solvent. The formulation was carried out with variations of formulas I, II, and III with the concentration of sucrose as the formation of the soap transparency structure, namely 5%, 10%, 15%. To get the best formula, an evaluation of the preparation was carried out including organoleptic testing, pH testing, foam stability testing, water content testing, physical stability testing, and irritation testing. The results showed that the best formula was formula III with a sucrose concentration of 15% with organoleptic evaluation test results showing a transparent solid form, distinctive grape fruit aroma, orange color, pH 10.5, foam stability 9.5cm, water content 28%, stable and non-irritating.

Abstract

Currently, many topical anti-acne drugs are circulating in the form of gels and creams, but there arestill very few topical anti-acne drugs that contain herbs, as active ingredients or agents that canpotentially prevent and treat acne, such as gotu kola (Centella asiatica) with its anti-bacterialproperties. The aim of this research is to develop a stable gotu kola gel formulation. The method used isexperimental research methodology. Based on the research results, 1 optimum formula was obtained,namely formulas 1 and 2 with colors following the color of the active substance and transparent, havinga distinctive, homogeneous odor, pH 4.5-6.5, good spreadability (5-7 cm) and viscosity ( 3,000-50,000cP).

Abstract

Indonesia in 2021-2022 still obtained a prevalence of 1.3 billion attacks and 3.2 million deaths per year in toddlers due to diarrhoea. Diarrhoea is a disease that kills children under five years of age due to infections that can spread widely in the patient's body. The cost of acute diarrhoea in the hospital is all costs that have been incurred by patients related to medical services. These costs include treatment, medication and laboratory costs. This study aims to determine the Cost Effectiveness of Acute Diarrhoea Treatment in Inpatient Pediatric Patients at Hospital X quantitative data, namely data on pediatric patients with acute diarrhoea from inpatient examinations at Hospital X with Costeffectivinees Analysis (CEA) Research Design which is one of the pharmacoeconomic approaches to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of therapeutic outcomes and the costs of the treatment used. Data collection based on observation sheets (length of treatment, types of drugs used, medical treatment costs, administrative costs, and treatment costs for diagnosis of acute diarrhoea) total cost of acute diarrhoea in inpatient care at X Hospital during July - December 2022. The results of the study on the cost-effectiveness of treatment of acute diarrhoea in paediatric inpatients at Hospital X showed that the use of Orinkz was more effective than the combination of orezinc- nifudiar. Judging from the ACER value of Oriznik of Rp 17,029, - while the combination of orezinc- nifudiar Rp 17,684.

Abstract

Eye shadow is an eyelid makeup that is used to make the eyes appear darker so that the eyelids look more sunken in. Heavy metals are generally impurities in the basic ingredients of cosmetics that arise during production. The purpose of the study was to determine the levels of heavy metals in eye shadow in accordance with BPOM RI No. 12 Tahun 2019. This study used purposive sampling method. Sample preparation was carried out using the dry deconstruction method. The study began with qualitative analysis indicated by the appearance of heavy metal absorbance in reading with a selective cathode lamp in atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SSA). Determination of heavy metal levels using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SSA) at a wavelength of 197.3 nm for arsenic, 228.8 nm for cadmium, and 283.3 nm for lead. The results of heavy metal levels were then analysed using SPSS 26.0 one-sample T-tests. The results showed that all samples A, B, C, D, and E were positive for arsenic, cadmium, and lead with respective levels ranging from 0.19227-0.81752 mg/kg; 0.37014-1.05215 mg/kg; and 1.44905-6.22936 mg/kg. The results obtained still meet the BPOM contamination limits, which are < 5 mg/kg for arsenic, < 5 mg/kg for cadmium, and < 20 mg/kg for lead, thus all samples are still within safe limits in accordance with the requirements of BPOM RI No. 12 Tahun 2019.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks 5th in the world with production of 183.5 tons of ginger in 2020. Emprit ginger (Zingiber Officinale Var Amarum) contains essential oils, oleosin and starch. The high content of essential oils in emprit ginger is 1.5% - 3.5%, so emprit ginger has the potential to be used as a traditional medicine. When processing ginger into traditional medicine, it can be made in different dosage forms such as powder and extract. Heavy metal contamination is a quality requirement that needs to be considered in the manufacture of traditional medicine, one of the metals that contaminates rhizomes is copper (Cu) and lead (Pb). The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the dosage form of emprit ginger (Zingiber Officiale Var. Amarum) on heavy metal contamination of copper (Cu) and Lead (Pb) using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry method. The type of research used was experimental research, with the independent variable being the dosage form of emprit ginger, namely powder and thick extract and the dependent variable being the levels of the heavy metals Cu and Pb. The method used in the analysis used the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry method and was carried out 3 times. The results of the levels of heavy metals Cu and Pb were then analyzed using the T-test to determine the effect of dosage form on contamination of heavy metals Cu and Pb. The results showed that the dosage form had no effect on the levels of heavy metals Cu and Pb with a value of (p>0.05).

Abstract

Glibenclamide is the second generation of the sulfonylurea group, which is used orally in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Oral tablet preparations are still the main choice because they have the exact size of the usual desired dose, whereas for liquid preparations, patients must measure the medicine themselves. Pediatric and geriatric patients generally often experience difficulties when swallowing tablet or oral medications. So, to overcome this, an ODT preparation was made, the way to consume it is just to put it on the tongue, then the ODT tablet will disintegrate and dissolve in saliva. The aim of this research was to determine the variation of croscarmellose sodium that produces the best physical quality of Glibenclamide ODT tablets. The manufacture of Glibenclamide ODT has been carried out using the mixture method (dissolution-mixing). The solid dispersion that has been used is PEG 4000 and uses various concentrations of Croscarmellose Sodium, namely 0 mg, 2 mg, 4 mg, 6 mg, and 8 mg. The resulting ODT tablets were evaluated using several parameters, namely hardness test, friability test, wetting test, in vitro disintegration time test, and taste response test. The data obtained will be analyzed using one-way ANOVA with a confidence level of 95%. Research results have shown that the use of 4% Croscarmellose Sodium has resulted in the fastest in vitro disintegration (disintegration) time of 4.44 seconds, and the fastest wetting time of 21.67 seconds. The higher the concentration of croscarmellose sodium can produce the best physical quality.

Abstract

Captopril extended-release preparations are preparations that are modified to maintain the drug at therapeutic blood or tissue levels thereby reducing fluctuations in plasma concentrations. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of a combination of HPMC and xanthan gum matrices on the physical properties of captopril extended-release tablets, as well as to determine the best concentration of HPMC and xanthan gum to obtain captopril sustained-release preparations with optimum physical properties. The preparation of the preparation used the wet granulation method and used 8 runs of the Design Expert Simplex Lattice Design with a concentration ratio of HPMC and xanthan gum. Research results have shown that the higher concentration of xanthan gum can increase tablet hardness, reduce tablet friability, and can inhibit the initial release of active substances so that the drug release rate becomes slower. The optimum formula for extended-release captopril tablets resulting from optimization was HPMC 8060-N 25.496 mg, xanthan gum 49.504 mg with a hardness of 15.668 kg, a friability of 0.026 g/second, and a dissolution rate of 45.512%. The release profiles of captopril extended release tablets in this study all followed the Higuchi model release kinetics except for formulas 4, 6, formula 8 which followed zero order release kinetics.

Abstract

Obesity can cause various health problems such as cardiovascular disease and methabolic syndromme (insuline resistance, type 2 diabetes, hypertension und dyslipidemia). Various drug treatments have also been introduced into the community such as simvastatin, gemfibrozil and klorfibrat. These medicines are also considered unsafe if it is used permanently or excessively. Obesity can also bring about dyslipidemia. Hence, the bioactive agent which can burn the visceral fat is definetely needed. In Indonesia there is a great number of weeds which have been identified as a plant that has certain pharmacological effect in human’s body. One of them is wild poinsettia (Euphorbia heterophylla L.) which has also been proven to be effective as an antioxidant and blood glucose-lowering agent through some studies. This was a laboratory experimental study with a post-test only controlled group design. A number of 30 wistar strain white male rats were devided into 6 groups. Group 1 was normal control, group 2 was negative control (CMC Na 0,5 %), Group 3 was a positive control (gemfibrozil), group 4,5 and 6 were the ethanolic extract of wild poinsettia’s herbs in the doses of 250, 500 and 750 mg/kgBW respectively. Previously the total cholesterol level was measured to all testing animals. Before the trial, all testing animals except normal control were given high fat diet for two weeks. The total cholesterol and the body weight were then measured to observe the increase of the level. To the group 2,3,4,5 and 6 then were given the plecebo (CMC Na 0,5%), gemfibrozil, the extracts of 250, 500, and 750 mg/kgBW respectively for two weeks. The body weight and the total cholesterol were then measured again. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the wild poinsettia herb’s extract at a dose of 250 mg / kgBW was effective in reducing total cholesterol levels compared to the negative control. The dose of 750 mg / kgBW showed a maximum lowering effect of total cholesterol levels. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of wild poinsettia has effectiveness in reducing total cholesterol levels of obese male rats induced by a high-fat diet.
