Abstract

One common issue that arises from insufficient facial hygiene is acne. Treatment of acne using synthetic drugs, such as antibiotics and retinoids, is usually administered topically in the form of ointments. However, the use of these drugs often results in side effects such as skin irritation. Therefore, there is a need for herbal remedies that can address this issue, one of which is the use of gotu kola leaves. Gotu kola (Centella Asiatica) is a plant that has many benefits, with numerous studies indicating its impact on inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause acne, such as S. aureus, Proteus vulgaris, and Escherichia coli. Hence, further research is needed to determine the optimal formula for a facial toner preparation containing gotu kola leaves (Centella Asiatica) as an alternative therapy for acne-prone skin, with variations of polysorbate 20 and glycerin. This study aims to determine the optimum formula for a facial toner preparation containing gotu kola leaves (Centella Asiatica) that meets the physical parameters of the preparation and to determine the optimal concentrations of polysorbate 20 and glycerin that can produce the optimum formula for the facial toner preparation containing gotu kola leaves (Centella Asiatica). This research employs laboratory experimental methods, and the results indicate that the optimum formula for the gotu kola leaf toner preparation (Centella Asiatica) has concentrations of Polysorbate 20 at 10% and Glycerin at 5%. Organoleptic testing, homogeneity testing, viscosity testing, and pH testing of the optimum formula meet the range of parameters and requirements for evaluating the physical properties of a good toner preparation.

Abstract

Piperine is the main alkaloid compound found in various types of pepper, including long pepper (Piper retrofractum Vahl.). Determining the piperine content in natural materials and processed products is important in the context of quality control and pharmaceutical research. The analytical method frequently used for determining piperine content is High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). One critical factor in HPLC analysis is the selection and optimization of the mobile phase. This study aims to optimize the mobile phase in HPLC analysis to determine piperine content. The mobile phases used were acetonitrile:methanol:distilled water (60:10:30) and acetonitrile:methanol:distilled water (65:5:30). The results showed that the optimal mobile phase for determining piperine content using HPLC is a mixture of acetonitrile:methanol:distilled water in the ratio of 65:5:30 (v/v)

Abstract

Continuous exposure to radiation on Cah Lab equipment during procedures can produce significant environmental radiation. Therefore, the safety of medical worked and the public is very important and must comply with PERKA BAPETEN No. 4 of 2020 which sets a radiation exposure limit of 20 mSv/year for radiation workers and 1 mSv/year for the environment or community. This research focused on measuring radiation exposure at three different points in the Cath Lab control room, namely point 1 on the operator's glass, point 2 on the top door, and point 3 on the bottom door. The measurement method uses a Gamma Surveymeter which is placed at a distance of 30 cm from each measurement point, then the radiation background value is recorded and each measurement point is carried out 30 times during exposure during the inspection, with variations in kV and mA. The measurement results show that the radiation exposure value at point 1 (glass) is 0.183 mSv/year, point 2 (the upper door which is parallel to the organ area) is 0.045 mSv/year, and point 3 (the bottom door which is parallel to the organ area reproduction) is 0.102 mSv/yr. All these measurement results are still within the safe limits set in accordance with PERKA BAPETEN No.4 of 2020.

Abstract

Based on the data from the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018, 80,9% of female teenagers received blood tablets in their schools while 19.1% of them did not receive the tablets from their schools. From the number of the female students who got blood tablets, furthermore, it was found that the number of the tablets taken was only <52 tablets or as many as 98,6%; which means only 1,4% of female students who took ≥52 tablets (Kemenkes, 2016). Teman Sebaya Tanggap Anemia (friends of the same age responsive to anemia) is the special term for a group of people considered as the blood tablet recipients. Some interventions can be conducted to improve the patients’ medical compliance such as medical information service, distributing medical leaflets, sending short reminders, and utilizing alarm (Susanto, 2017). The purpose of this research is to measure the medication compliance level of Teman Sebaya Tanggap Anemia (TSTA) in taking blood tablets at Puskesmas Bangsri, Jepara Regency and to comprehend the influence of the Short Message Service (SMS) gateway on such compliance. The quasi-experimental was employed in this research, and the prospective data were collected from February to April 2019. The data were then analyzed using the Chi Square test and the Wilcoxon test. The result showed that the percentage of compliance was only 34.57% before the treatment was given, and the SMS gateway service gave significant influence on the compliance of TSTA (p 0.00 < 0.05) In addition, the Wilcoxon test result also showed the same result (p 0.00 < 0.05), and it proved that there was significant difference in the compliance before and after the treatment; therefore the SMS gateway service was effectively proven in improving the medication compliance percentage from 34.57% to 87.23%.
