Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see how the picture of the meaning of life in ex addicts of online games. The method used in this study is qualitative with phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through semi-structured interviews and the data are analyzed using interpretive phenomenological analysis. Researchers found 5 themes related to the meaning of life in former online gaming addicts, such as the background of online gaming addiction, the impact of online gaming addiction, the process of surviving from online gaming addiction, changes after successfully surviving from online gaming addiction, having no desire to re-addiction to online games.

Abstract

Data from UNESCO in 2021 revealed that Indonesia's literacy interest ranked 62nd out of 70 countries, becoming a serious concern for the government. Several factors contributed to this worrying trend, including limited access to suitable reading materials and a scarcity of libraries, exacerbated by the impact of the pandemic, which led to a higher focus on digital gadgets. Among students, increased internet usage has resulted in a decline in reading interest due to distractions from social media, digital games, and entertainment content, posing a challenge to improving literacy among students. Additionally, SMP Daarun Ni'mah faces a critical literacy situation with students showing little interest in reading, attributed to inadequate facilities, including the absence of proper reading materials and a library. To address these challenges, this research focuses on designing a user-friendly and appealing user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for a mobile-based e-library application using the design thinking method. Testing the design using the Single Ease Question (SEQ) and System Usability Scale (SUS) methods with 15 respondents received positive feedback, indicating the effectiveness and acceptance of the UI/UX design. This research aims to promote reading habits and enhance literacy in the digital era through an attractive e-library application.

Abstract

Indonesian people's awareness of the importance of insurance is increasing, including sharia insurance products. With increasing public awareness of Islamic insurance, it is possible that the income earned by Islamic insurance companies will increase. However, as people's awareness of insurance increases, economic conditions in Indonesia, such as the inflation rate, BI rate and exchange rates, also change. The economic conditions in Indonesia, which have often changed recently, were caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on previous research and several theories, inflation, BI Rate, and also the Exchange Rate affect the profit earned by sharia-life insurance companies in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to find out whether economic conditions such as the level of inflation, the BI Rate, and the exchange rate also affect the profits earned by sharia life insurance companies in Indonesia. This research uses quantitative methods. This research includes these classic assumptions, that are Normality Test, Multicholinearity Test, Heteroschedasticity Test, and Autocorrelation Test. This research also conducts a hypothesis test consisting of t-test (partial test), Adjusted R Square test, and F test (Fisher Test). The results of this study the simultaneous influence of Inflation, BI Rate, and Exchange Rate on Sharia-Life Insurance Profit is 57.6%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of NPWP Ownership Obligations and Tax Audits on the Size of Income Tax Receipts (Survey at the Karawang Pratama Tax Service Office). This research method uses quantitative methods with data taken using primary data. The sampling technique was determined by purposive sampling method. The samples taken in this study were 103 individual taxpayers with the criteria of having an NPWP in Karawang. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires via Google Forms. The data analysis method was used to process data in this study using PLS with SmartPLS 3.0 software.

Abstract

This discussion study was conducted in order to determine the effect of understanding, Tax sanctions, and the level of trust in the government and the law on taxpayer compliance in paying land tax and rural urban buildings in Karawang Regency. The Total sample used in this discussion study is 100 respondents calculated using simple random sampling method. Data collection conducted in the study of this discussion through the questionnaire method. The method of data analysis conducted to process the data in this discussion study using PLS with Smart PLS 3.0 software. The results of the analysis showed that understanding, Tax sanctions, the level of trust in the government and the law affect the compliance of taxpayers in paying land tax and rural urban buildings.

Abstract

The widespread use of technology across all parts of life is finally forcing educators to integrate current technology into the classroom environment in response to the growing needs of millennial learners. One of the efforts to integrate technology into the classroom is through pre-service teachers' self-efficacy when using technology. Self-efficacy is the ability of a teacher to have the confidence to influence students in learning to achieve learning targets; in this study, especially using technological knowledge. This study gathered data on preservice teachers’ self-efficacy in using technology through questionnaire survey and observation. The partial least squares (PLS) of the structure equation modelling (SEM) technique used to analyze the data. This study involved students from PBI Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta batch 2019 and 2020. The research was conducted by non-random sampling. This study uses quantitative methods of research. According to Creswell (1994), quantitative research explains phenomena by collecting numerical data analyzed using mathematically based methods (in particular, statistics). This study aimed to find out how preservice teachers' self-efficacy level regarding the use of technology in microteaching classes and the effect of students’ self-efficacy level in using technology on pre-service teachers' teaching performance. This study’s results show an effect between preservice teachers’ self-efficacy (X) on preservice teachers’ teaching performance. It can be seen from the parameter coefficient value is 0.334, meaning that for every one-unit increase in Self Efficacy, Teaching Performance will increase by 0.334 units. This study concluded that the research data was analyzed using the Partial-Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. It concluded that there was a significant effect between the preservice teachers’ self-efficacy in using technology on pre-service teachers' teaching performance.

Abstract

Learning how to communicate effectively through spoken language is a critical objective for all language students. To acquire English-speaking skills, the most appropriate approach must be chosen, and this study focused on Contextual Teaching Learning (CLT) since there are still many teachers who use unsuitable methods. This study employed the narrative technique to gain a better understanding of whether CTL is effective for teaching speaking, as well as its benefits. The participant of this study was the researcher herself who was an English teacher who taught speaking recently to grade two elementary students. The findings demonstrated that CTL is appropriate and effective for teaching speaking in English, which benefits students. CTL engages students by making them the center of the lesson. This allows students to make connections between their prior knowledge and the newly learned material. Additionally, CTL provides context for students to receive feedback on their prior knowledge, allowing them to change inaccurate prior knowledge into accurate prior knowledge.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The dynamic relationship between China and Taiwan is still unresolved at this time, starting from the civil war between the Communist Party and the National Party which has yet to end fighting for the disintegration of Taiwan from the bosom of China. What was then rejected by President Tsai Ing-Wen of Taiwan regarding the One China policy (One Policy Of China) which continued to shout independence for Taiwanese in any way. In fact, President Xi Jinping held back to keep Taiwan in the lap of China's sovereignty. The purpose of this research is to see how the struggle of the Taiwanese people in shouting for their independence by referendum is seen from the consensus prevailing in the international community by analyzing the rights contained in the UN Charter and International Law. This research uses the juridical-normative method by obtaining secondary data from research libraries and literacy about the legal protection of Taiwanese citizens in the form of scientific journals and scientific articles. In this research, it is hoped that the transparency of international legal transparency towards Taiwanese citizens, which until now has no clear identity in the international world. Abstract

This research is about investigating the students’ peer interaction patterns to comprehend text explanations in the 3STM classroom. Student interaction in group discussions can reveal how well they understand the subject. Students that actively participated in the discussion group displayed a comprehension of the material being discussed. This research employed a descriptive case study. The data was obtained by observation and interviews. The research subjects were 36 students from class XI SMA Negeri in Cikarang Barat, arranged into groups of 5-6 people. This study aims to find what patterns does the students use to deliver their comprehension through group discussion in the 3STM classrooms and what factors cause the patterns to appear. Student interaction is analyzed using the IBIS model by Kunz & Rittel (1970), and there are three elements, namely: issues, positions, and arguments. The 3STM was used in this study to assist students understanding of English texts. The results found that two interaction patterns emerged in this study Detailed Knowledge Exchange and Partial Knowledge Exchange. The emergence of these two patterns was caused by factors such as discussion partners, students' knowledge of the topic being discussed, students' courage in expressing their opinions, and a lack of mastery of English vocabulary and grammar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine, analyze and explain the influence of work motivation and work discipline on the performance of Head Office employees of PT. Nojorono Tobacco International. This research uses descriptive and verification research methods with quantitative research types. The population of this research is Head Office employees of PT. Nojorono Tobacco International, with a total of 201 employees and a sample of 138 respondents who were calculated using the solvency formula at a level of 5%. While the sampling technique in this study used a simple random sampling technique. The results showed that there was a partial influence between work motivation and work discipline on the performance of employees at PT Nojorono Tobacco International. The magnitude of the influence of work motivation on employee performance is 29%. Meanwhile, the magnitude of the influence of work discipline on employee performance is 30.2%. There is a simultaneous influence between work motivation and work discipline on the performance of employees of PT Nojorono Tobacco International. the total effect caused by work motivation and work discipline variables on employee performance is 59.2%. while the influence of other variables outside the research model is 40.8%.
