Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to examine changes in elementary school students’ announcement writing skills after the implementation of the Inquiry Learning model assisted by PARUMA Digital media. The study was conducted based on the need for innovative learning approaches to support students in identifying announcement elements, organizing text structures, and presenting information clearly and systematically. Methods – This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants were 16 fifth-grade students at SD Kayuapu selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through announcement writing performance tests administered before and after the learning activities. The data were analyzed using the paired-samples t-test and N-Gain analysis Findings – The results showed a significant pre–post difference in students’ announcement writing scores after participating in learning activities using the Inquiry Learning model assisted by PARUMA Digital media (p < 0.05). The average score increased from 13.69 in the pretest to 16.75 in the posttest. The average N-Gain score was 0.5260 or 52.60%, which was categorized as moderate. Improvements occurred across all writing indicators, with the highest gains observed in identifying announcement elements and organizing announcement structures.Research Implications – The findings indicate that the integration of the Inquiry Learning model and PARUMA Digital media was associated with changes in students’ announcement writing skills within the context of fifth-grade students at SD Kayuapu.

Abstract

Purpose – The objective of this article is to undertake a comprehensive literature analysis of the strategic importance of flight instructors as implementers of the Safety Management System (SMS) in Approved Training Organisations (ATOs). This review synthesizes the research to understand how instructors transform formal safety principles into everyday operational activities and presents a new conceptual framework of meso-level safety leadership for aviation schools. Methods – A qualitative topic synthesis was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 procedure. The authors collected metadata of the papers in the Google Scholar database from 2013 to 2025 with the Publish or Perish software. Twelve core peer-reviewed papers were selected for final analysis under tight inclusion and exclusion criteria and quality grading procedures to limit the subjectivity of single-researcher selection.Findings – Instructors are essential bridges in the meso-layer, transferring explicit SMS rules into everyday actions. These instructors create psychologically safe environments during non-punitive debriefs, fostering an organic safety culture. However, the academic “pressure to fly” and high staff turnover severely limit this catalytic impact. We have developed the ‘Meso-Catalytic Safety Leadership Framework’ to show that generative safety is really the intersection of great meso-leadership and a psychologically secure climate.Research Implications – The results have practical implications for ATO administrators to restructure Flight Instructor standardization programs with the integration of emotional intelligence and scenario-based safety leadership training. The limitation of the technique is that the current literature is cross-sectional. For future research methodology for an exploratory study, we would recommend longitudinal designs and the ability to apply artificial intelligence reporting systems to offset the loss of institutional memory.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Deep Learning-based PjBL model on students' learning interest in the fourth-grade science subject in elementary schools. Methods – This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 81 fourth-grade students from SDN Sunggapan and SDN Pasirgabig, comprising 33 students from Class 4A at SDN Sunggapan as the experimental group and 28 students from Class 4B at SDN Sunggapan along with 20 students from Class 4 at SDN Pasirgabig as the control group. The experimental class was taught using a Deep Learning-based PjBL model, while the control class used conventional teaching methods. Data were collected using a learning interest questionnaire and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired-sample t-tests, and independent-sample t-tests.Findings – The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a Deep Learning-based PjBL model has a significant effect on students’ interest in learning. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test for the experimental class showed a significance value of 0.004 < 0.05, while the Paired Sample T-Test for the control class showed a significance value of 0.045 < 0.05, while the results of the independent-samples T-Test also showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in learning interest between the experimental and control classes following the intervention.Research Implications – The findings indicate that integrating PjBL with a deep learning approach can be considered an alternative strategy for promoting students’ interest in learning IPAS. However, the study was limited by the non-random assignment of participants, unequal group sizes, and the involvement of students from different school contexts. Therefore, the findings should be interpreted within the context of participating in schools.
