Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and learning discipline in Pancasila education among fifth-grade elementary school students in the Lubang Buaya sub-district. Methods – This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of 703 fifth-grade students from 11 public elementary schools in Lubang Buaya Subdistrict. A sample of 255 students was selected proportional sampling technique. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire to measure self-efficacy and academic discipline in Pancasila Education classes. The data were analyzed using Pearson’s product-moment correlation test with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics, after meeting the requirements for normality and linearity. Findings – The findings indicate a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and learning discipline in Pancasila Education among fifth-grade elementary school students. This is demonstrated by a correlation value of r = 0.551 and a significance test with a calculated t-value of 10.515. These findings indicate a positive and significant relationship with moderate strength. self-efficacy explains 30.4% of the variance in learning discipline and 69.6% influenced by other factors.Research Implications – The findings of this study highlight the importance of focusing on strengthening students’ self-efficacy as one of the factors related to their academic discipline in Pancasila Education classes. The limitations of this study include its inability to demonstrate a cause-and-effect relationship, as well as the fact that the population was limited to the Lubang Buaya subdistrict. Future research is recommended to expand the study population and examine other factors, either using the same research design or a different one.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to examine changes in students’ interest in learning assessment activities following the implementation of Kahoot-based assessment in the Qur’an and Hadith subject among 10th-grade students at MAN 1 Gresik. Methods – This study employed a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design, conducted with 33 students from the 10th-grade class 6 at MAN 1 Gresik, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a 25-item Likert-scale questionnaire measuring students’ interest in learning assessment activities. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and a paired-sample t-test. Findings – The mean interest score increased from 68.81 in the pretest to 76.09 in the posttest. The paired-sample t-test showed a statistically significant difference between the two measurements (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The calculated effect size was large (Cohen’s d = 0.87), indicating a substantial increase in students’ reported interest following participation in the Kahoot-based assessment activity.Research Implications – This study suggests that Kahoot may support a more interactive and engaging assessment experience and may be associated with higher levels of student interest in learning assessment activities. However, the results should be interpreted with caution due to the use of a single-group design and a relatively small sample. Further studies involving control groups, larger samples, and longer intervention periods are recommended.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the level of ChatGPT usage, examine students’ perceptions of academic honesty in its use from an Islamic ethics perspective, and reconstruct the meaning of academic honesty in the era of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).Methods – This study used a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design. Quantitative data were gathered through questionnaires from 150 PBSI and PGSD students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA, followed by in-depth interviews with 10 students. The qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings – The results indicate that the level of ChatGPT usage among students was high (80.0%). Students’ perceptions of academic honesty in using ChatGPT were also categorized as high (74.8%), with the highest scores found in the dimensions of amanah (trustworthiness) (84.8%) and academic responsibility (84.2%). In contrast, lower scores were observed in AI-use transparency (57.8%), originality of work (64.8%), and ?idq (truthfulness) (66.2%). Qualitative findings revealed a reconstruction of the meaning of academic honesty, shifting from honesty as complete independence toward honesty as responsible and transparent use of technology.Research Implications – This study was limited to students from two programs at one university. Its findings underscore the need to strengthen AI literacy, academic ethics, and institutional AI policies grounded in Islamic values: ?idq, amanah, mas’uliyyah, ihsan, and adab.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the relationship between the implementation of Wordwall-assisted Game-Based Learning and the learning motivation of Grade XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara. Methods – This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all 63 Grade XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara. Using purposive sampling, 54 students who met the research criteria were selected as the sample. Data were collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire based on Keller’s ARCS motivation model. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. Findings – The findings indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between the implementation of Wordwall-assisted Game-Based Learning and students’ learning motivation. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.388) suggests that variations in learning motivation are associated with variations in students’ perceptions of the implementation of Wordwall-assisted Game-Based Learning within the regression model, while the remaining 61.2% may be related to other factors not examined in this study.Research Implications – The findings provide empirical support for the relevance of the ARCS motivation framework in digital learning environments, particularly regarding students’ attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. Practically, the study suggests that interactive web-based learning platforms such as Wordwall may be considered as alternative instructional media to support student engagement. However, the study is limited to one vocational school and relies on self-report questionnaire data, which may restrict the generalizability of the findings and does not allow causal conclusions to be drawn.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine students' perceptions of learning evaluation in the Introduction to Ushul Fiqih course at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, focusing on the forms of evaluation, its effectiveness and relevance, and the factors shaping students' perceptions. While previous studies have largely examined student perceptions of technology-based evaluation media, this study looks at a course that requires conceptual and interpretive reasoning in Islamic law. Methods – This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects were 10 students selected purposively from Classes A, C, and D. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, and data validity was checked through source and technique triangulation, member checking, and discussion with the research supervisor. Findings – The results show that students have a positive perception of the resume assignment as the main form of evaluation in the midterm exam, as it helps reinforce their conceptual understanding and produces notes they can use later. Even so, students feel this format is not enough to measure analytical and applicative skills, so they suggested other formats such as oral presentations, case studies, and formative quizzes. Students' perceptions are also shaped by internal factors, external factors, and the classroom environment.Research Implications – These findings suggest that evaluation in conceptually demanding courses like Ushul Fiqih needs to go beyond reproduction-based tasks and move toward authentic assessment principles and the CIPP model, particularly by strengthening the input and process dimensions through ongoing formative assessment.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to examine the effect of the RADEC learning model on fifth-grade elementary school students' conceptual understanding of the animal respiratory system. Methods – This study employed a quasi-experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 22 students assigned to the experimental group and 21 students to the control group through purposive sampling. The experimental group was taught using the RADEC learning model, whereas the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through observation sheets to assess the implementation of the learning process and essay tests administered as pretests and posttests to measure students' conceptual understanding. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, Paired Samples t-test, Independent Samples t-test, and N-Gain analysis. Findings – The implementation of the RADEC learning model achieved a very good level of implementation 92%. Although the posttest scores of the experimental and control groups did not differ significantly sig. 0.138, the experimental group obtained a significantly higher N-Gain than the control group sig. 0.025, indicating greater improvement in conceptual understanding.Research Implications – The findings suggest that the RADEC learning model has the potential to improve elementary students' conceptual understanding. However, further studies with larger samples are needed to confirm its superiority over conventional instruction.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the SQ3R learning model assisted by Flipbook media in improving beginning reading skills among first-grade elementary school students. Methods – This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental One-Group Pretest–Posttest design involving one experimental class. Beginning reading skills were measured using a structured reading fluency test covering letter recognition, syllable reading, word reading, reading speed, intonation, expression, and reading comprehension. Data were analyzed using a paired-samples t-test. Findings – Descriptively, the mean posttest score was higher than the mean pretest score, indicating an improvement in students' beginning reading skills after the implementation of the SQ3R learning model assisted by Flipbook media. However, the paired-samples t-test showed that the difference was not statistically significant (t (48) = -0.612, p = .543). Therefore, the study did not provide sufficient statistical evidence to conclude that the intervention significantly improved beginning reading skills.Research Implications – Although students' reading performance improved descriptively, the statistical findings indicate that the effectiveness of the intervention could not be confirmed. The absence of a control group and the use of a single experimental class limit the generalizability of the findings. Future studies are recommended to involve larger samples and a control group to obtain stronger empirical evidence.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine the effect of using hanging bottles as a training aid on Pencak Silat front kick skills among seventh-grade students. This research was prompted by students’ low proficiency in performing front kick techniques, as evidenced by incorrect kick direction, poor balance, and suboptimal motor coordination. Methods – This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 26 seventh-grade students. The instrument used was a practical test assessing front kick skills based on movement technique indicators. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, and N-Gain analysis. Findings – The results revealed a significant improvement between pretest and posttest scores, with an asymptotic significance value of p < 0.001. The mean pretest score increased from 43.65 to 86.15 on the posttest. Furthermore, the average N-Gain value of 0.76 (76.47%) fell into the "high" and "effective" categories. These findings indicate that hanging bottle media can help students achieve specific learning goals, improve concentration, and refine movement techniques.Research Implications – Therefore, hanging bottle media serves as an innovative and effective instructional alternative for improving front kick skills in Pencak Silat within the Physical Education (PJOK) curriculum. However, this study is limited to a specific student sample at a single grade level and focuses solely on one technique, the front kick. Consequently, its effectiveness across other age groups or kick types cannot yet be generalized.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to develop a Google Sites-based document management model tailored to the specific context of the Educational Management undergraduate program at the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, to strengthen its documentation readiness for accreditation under the Indonesian teacher-education accreditation instrument (IAPSK 3.0). This study is limited to documentation readiness specifically the extent to which accreditation evidence is structured, current, and traceable rather than overall accreditation readiness. Methods – A Research and Development approach following the ADDIE model was applied, limited to its first three stages: Analysis, Design, and Development. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five key informants, four weeks of observation, and document study, then analyzed qualitatively with technique and source triangulation. To provide initial (formative) validation of the prototype rather than an Implementation or Evaluation stage a limited socialization was conducted with fourteen lecturers and education staff using a nineteen-item Likert questionnaire across four dimensions. Findings – The analysis showed that the real problem was not the absence of digital storage but the absence of structure, naming standards, and governance. The resulting model, named SIAP-GS, maps its information architecture directly onto the nine criteria and sixty-five elements of IAPSK 3.0, applies a single-source-multiple-views principle, and deliberately keeps technical complexity low. The prototype obtained an overall mean of 4.59 out of 5 (very good), with the highest score on the benefit-and-usefulness dimension.Research Implications – The study covers only the first three ADDIE stages and a single study program; the implementation and evaluation stages, wider testing, and long-term impact on actual accreditation outcomes remain agendas for further research.
