Abstract

PT Permata Hijau Palm Oleo (PHPO) is one of the producers in the manufacturing industry that produces plastic jerrycan as cooking oil packaging. At this time, based on the data that researchers obtained during November 2022, the company has jerrycan product quality problems. There were rejects amounting to 21,134 Pcs (3%) of the total production of 637,128 pcs. The types of rejects that occur are reject topload test, droptest, brimfull test, parting line and visual defects. Based on pareto chart analysis, it is obtained that reject topload test with a weight of 42% and reject droptest products with a weight of 32%, therefore an analysis will be carried out to improve the two types of reject products using the fault tree analysis (FTA) method, it is obtained that the root causes of reject topload test and droptest products are influenced by human factors, machines and raw materials. Things that can be done to improve the reject process topload test and droptest using the RPN (Risk Priority Number) value based on FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) analysis, namely by cleaning the diehied from the remaining material and performing regular maintenance on the Ellement Heater section to avoid damage so that it will affect the extruder temperature. Keywords: FMEA, FTA, Jerrycan, Pareto Chart, Quality

Abstract

Proper layout arrangements can have an impact on minimizing the distance and time of the production process. The research was conducted at UKM X which produces fish-based snacks in Jambi Province where there is a back and forth flow in work activities due to the placement of work stations that are not in the order of the process flow and the placement of each process in a different room resulting in an increase in both working time and distance required in the production process. The purpose of this research is to re-design the layout of production process facilities in minimizing the distance between production processes by applying the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method. The results of this study indicate that the percentage of reduced material movement distance in the initial layout with the proposed alternative layout I is 21.56% (the selected proposed layout) and in the proposed II alternative layout is 15.94%. And the results of this study can be used as a guideline for UKM X managers which are used as case studies in research..

Abstract

P Ltd., is a company engaged in the manufacturing industry which produces various technical plastic supporting components with plastic ore as the main raw material. This company produces aircon boxes, bis caps, lamp holders, front grilles, port rings, and bolt-hole masking cups. Some of these items become essential or supplementary components of consumer orders. It employs the Make to Order (MTO) system by making products according to customized products. Of various products produced by P Ltd., a bis cap product was chosen to be the research object for the analysis of its track balance because the bis cap becomes a product that is often ordered by customers and the number of orders is also very large. The high demand of consumers has caused the bis cap production process to get stuck in the quality checking process due to the buildup of finished goods from the production machine. After processing data through the LCR (Largest Candidate Rules) and RPW (Rangked Positional Weight) methods, the optimal results occurred in the LCR method, in which 1 workstation had a line efficiency value of 100.03% and a balance delay value of 0.03%.

Abstract

The spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has forced many schools to implement health protocols such as wearing masks, social distancing, and limiting the number of students in classrooms when face-to-face learning resumes as it did before the pandemic. This is due to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stating that Covid-19 can spread through the air (airborne). In addition to implementing health protocols, another important thing is to maintain classroom ventilation. By increasing the ventilation of outside air into the classroom, the risk of virus transmission can be reduced, and the indoor air quality can be improved. Introducing as much outside air as possible into the room is one important way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 because it can reduce the concentration of the virus in the room. ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers) recommends a minimum of 6 ACH (Air Change per Hour) for classrooms. Research conducted on one middle school classroom in Tangerang Selatan, equipped with 2 AC units and 1 window, showed that the ASHRAE standard can be met by opening the window at least 50% during learning activities and turning on 1 AC unit with the fan setting at full speed to achieve an ACH greater than 6. If besides wanting to prevent the transmission of Covid-19, you also want to create comfort during the learning process, you can turn on both AC units with the fan setting at low to full speed. Abstract

PT. X works in the automotive manufacturing industry. There are various departments in the corporate structure, one of which is K3 (Occupational Health and Safety). This department is an important part of a company. Bearing in mind that all machines and equipment used have potential hazards. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine the risk of work accidents that endanger the safety and health of employees. To control the potential for work accidents, the HAZOP method was chosen. The HAZOP approach was used to conduct this research. Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) was founded by ICI, a British chemical company. As a result, HAZOPs are increasingly being used in the chemical sector where they will be used in dealing with accidents that occur due to negligence of workers. The results obtained when conducting research using the hazop method obtained 3 levels of hazard risk and showing the percentage of each level of risk, including 50% low risk, 25% high risk, and 25% extreme risk. Low risk is the process of using manual equipment and forklifts, high level of risk in the machining process, and extreme level of risk in the casting process. Abstract

FGH is a manufacturing company engaged in television assembly. In the process, there is a product defect. In order to avoid repeated defects, this research tries to analyze the factors that cause the current defects. After classification using the Pareto diagram, four types of defects are obtained that need to be repaired immediately. These defects are scratch screens, gaps, light leakage and foreign materials. Further analysis was carried out on each type of defect. With the FMEA method, the results of the analysis show that PT. FGH must check the materials used before the process is carried out, ensure that the work methods are well realized and provide instructions for using tools and machines so that the output is as expected. Abstract

Entrepreneur Management Customs Services (PPJK) serves to assist importers or exporters in shipping goods. The indicators of PPJK services are customer satisfaction, timeliness, suitability of quantity and condition of delivery goods. Based on this, distribution is a very important component. Decision making for determining the type of vehicle that will be used to distribute goods requires a comparison between costs and the selection of an appropriate method for making these decisions. The purpose of this study was to analyze the operational costs of PPJK vehicles using Vehicle Operating Cost Analysis (BOK). The conclusion is that the company is advised to use its own delivery vehicle if it has a budget for the purchase of the vehicle. This is because the funds spent on rental costs are greater than operating costs. Based on the calculation of PPJK's Vehicle Operational Costs, the fixed cost of the vehicle is Rp. 325,429,472/year, variable vehicle costs of Rp. 115,579,320/year and other costs of Rp. 43,560,000/year. PPJK was declared eligible to invest in vehicles because the difference between the calculation of the operating costs of the vehicle itself and the rental amounted to Rp. 1,088,910,152, which means the rental cost is higher. In addition, the use of company vehicles can minimize risk factors for work accidents, costs, time and customer satisfaction as long as they have competent human resources. Abstract

PT. Z is a company that produces all packaging needs. The problems that exist in the production process are frequent occurrence of breakdowns on machines which result in decreased productivity. This study aims to calculate the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value, analyze the six big losses factors, and analyze the root causes of problems from the Imprabox Matt Floor production process. From the results of the calculations that have been done, it is found that the OEE value of the Marking Process is 85.2%, Material Cutting is 68.2%, Material Printing is 75.8%, Printing is 47.9%, Welding Process is 36.6%, Assembly is 74.9% , Process Screw 81.3%. Only the marking process meets World Class OEE with an OEE value of 85.2%, and the smallest OEE value of all production processes is found in the welding process with an OEE value of 36.6%. The results of the Six Big Losses analysis and the root causes of the problem found that the lack of understanding of employees in operating machines is one of the main causes of the low OEE score. From these problems, proposed improvements in an effort to increase OEE are by conducting operator training, scheduling preventive maintenance, making machine checksheets, standardizing the welding process, and checking the machine periodically.
