Abstract

The Ruwahan tradition in Sendangduwur Village, Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, is a form of local cultural preservation imbued with Islamic values introduced through the cultural da’wah of Sunan Sendangduwur. Islamic communication in this tradition plays a crucial role in shaping the social representation of the community through rituals of sedekah (almsgiving) and selametan (communal feast), which include prayers for deceased relatives, while also reinforcing religious and social power structures within the community. Sunan Sendangduwur’s da’wah approach internalizes Islamic values peacefully and tolerantly alongside Javanese culture, making the Ruwahan tradition an effective communication medium for maintaining social identity and religious authority in the coastal Lamongan area. The regularly held Ruwahan Festival not only strengthens social solidarity but also asserts the existence of power structures rooted in culturally adapted Islamic values. Thus, Islamic communication through the Ruwahan tradition in Sendangduwur functions as a strategic means to build and represent harmonious and sustainable social relations and power structures in the local society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how online media in Indonesia construct environmental issues through different perspectives of values ​​and ideologies. The two media outlets studied are NU Online, a representative of Islamic da'wah-based media, and Kumparan.com, a representative of general media based on digital journalism. This study uses Agenda Setting theory (McCombs & Shaw, 1972) to explore two levels of analysis: issue salience (the determination of the issue agenda) and attribute salience (the formation of meaning and values). The method used is qualitative content analysis with a descriptive-comparative approach to ten environmental articles published between September and October 2025. The results show that NU Online frames environmental issues within an Islamic ecotheological framework, emphasizing the values ​​of amanah (trust), khalifah (vicegerent), mizan (property), and ihsan (goodness) as the moral basis for preserving nature. Meanwhile, Kumparan.com emphasizes a technocratic and collaborative approach, addressing ESG issues, SDGs, and green innovation as a sustainable development strategy. Both media play a role in shaping public ecological awareness, but with different value orientations: spirituality in Islamic media and rationality in mainstream media. This research contributes to strengthening the media's role in building ethical, reflective, and sustainable public ecological awareness in Indonesia.

Abstract

Era Digitalisasi, yang ditandai dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan dan dakwah Islam. Pengaruh Digitalisasi ini menghadirkan tantangan sekaligus peluang bagi eksistensi pendidikan dakwah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pendidikan dakwah dapat mempertahankan relevansinya dan secara efektif membentuk karakter muslim yang tangguh di tengah arus informasi global yang masif. Melalui tinjauan literatur, studi ini mengidentifikasi strategi adaptasi, peran teknologi digital, dan pentingnya kolaborasi antarbudaya dalam pendidikan dakwah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan dakwah memiliki kontribusi penting dalam memperkuat karakter generasi muda melalui strategi integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam kurikulum, keteladanan guru, penciptaan lingkungan pendidikan yang religius, serta pemanfaatan teknologi sebagai medium dakwah. Pendidikan Islam juga mendorong kesalehan sosial, literasi digital, dan identitas kultural yang kuat. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan Islam perlu melakukan transformasi adaptif yang komprehensif agar mampu menghasilkan generasi yang tangguh secara spiritual, intelektual, dan sosial tanpa kehilangan jati diri keislamannya di era global.

Abstract

The background problem of this research is that there are many problems and obstacles faced in realizing organizational activities in the Ansor youth movement, namely: lack of organizational discipline, lack of guidance to Ansor members, differences of opinion and indications of inter-personal conflicts that cause slow implementation of these activities. This research is a qualitative research with the type of library research with the method of analysis (Content Analysis) after the data is collected the data is analyzed and then the data is analyzed and studied carefully and described which then provides a description and explanation and described the organizational communication patterns in the development of Ansor youth movement Banjar Anyar Village Branch Tanjung Anom District Nganjuk Regency. The results showed that the communication pattern applied in this organization is a combination of wheel and star pattern. The direction of communication includes vertical communication up and down, horizontal communication, and informal communication which is dominantly familial in nature. Communication barriers faced include member absence, information delays and differences in perception. The coaching strategy is carried out through personal and informal approaches that prioritize family values and togetherness. Communication not only functions as a conveyor of information, but also becomes the main media in the process of coaching.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of digital communication psychology in shaping the self-control of Gen Z students and the mechanism of fear of missing out (FOMO) on social media. The study uses a phenomenological qualitative approach with subjects aged 18–23 years who actively use social media. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of digital habits, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results of the study show that FOMO is formed through a cycle of stimulus–meaning–response: digital notifications and posts trigger interpretations based on affiliation needs, giving rise to anxious emotions, which then encourage compulsive behavior that is reinforced by platform algorithms. FOMO affects three dimensions of self-control, namely attention and priority disruption at the cognitive level, social anxiety at the emotional level, and impulsivity and task procrastination at the behavioral level. Students develop multidimensional coping strategies including technical restrictions on device use, cognitive reframing of content meaning, strengthening face-to-face relationships, and spiritual practices. These findings confirm that self-control in the digital age is not solely a personal capacity, but rather the result of a negotiation between individual agency and the structure of communication technology. The research implies the importance of digital communication psychology literacy in higher education to strengthen students' emotional regulation and attention management. This study contributes to enriching communication psychology studies by offering a conceptual model of FOMO based on the process of meaning-making and contextual self-control practices among Indonesian students.

Abstract

This research explores the communication strategy of affiliate marketing implemented by PT Nutrifood Indonesia through TikTok using the AIDA model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) approach. TikTok is chosen for its potential to reach a young audience through short and engaging content. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method by observing Nutrifood’s affiliate content on TikTok, documenting key activities, and reviewing relevant literature. The results indicate that Nutrifood successfully captures attention through the use of trending topics, popular audio, and eye-catching visuals. Interest is generated by creatively delivering product information through affiliate creators. Desire is built through relatable storytelling and testimonials, while action is encouraged through purchase invitations and affiliate link usage. This strategy effectively increases product exposure organically and strengthens brand presence among TikTok users. The findings are expected to provide insights for digital marketing communication practitioners in optimizing social media platforms, especially affiliate programs based on content creation.

Abstract

Film as a medium of preaching is effective in conveying messages of togetherness, respect for differences, and harmonious life according to Islamic teachings. Bu Tejo Sowan Jakarta is one of the films that depicts diversity and intercultural conflict that occurs in society, especially in the Javanese and Chinese engagement or proposal process. This study aims to examine intercultural communication between Javanese and Chinese cultures and the obstacles that arise in the proposal process in the film. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and the theoretical framework of the Development Model of Intercultural Sensitivity, this study collected data through film observation, in-depth interviews with directors, and cultural observers. Analysis was carried out on scenes in the film that depict intercultural conflict occurring. The results of the study indicate that intercultural communication in this film leads to tolerance through several stages, although obstacles still arise, especially in the context of the proposal. This study confirms that although cultural differences can trigger conflict, through proper communication, harmonious relationships can be created, as seen in this film.
