Abstract

This study examines the complex terrain of property rights in Indonesia, revealing gaps, historical trends, legislative impact, and theoretical insights. The method used is qualitative. Legal writings (constitutions, statutes, commentaries), court decisions, policy papers, and historical records relating to property and land rights law in Indonesia were considered as the primary research sources. Data were analysed using triangulation and N-Vivo. The results show that modern property law is the result of historical developments characterised by post-independence changes and colonial legacies. A careful balance is required to address the challenges posed by the encroachment of economic interests on legislative provisions intended to protect people's rights. The results show that modern property law is the result of historical developments characterized by post-independence changes and colonial legacies. A careful balance is required to address the challenges posed by the encroachment of economic interests on legislative provisions intended to protect people's rights. The weaknesses and contradictions found in the legislative framework highlight the need for flexible solutions to meet the changing demands of society. The intersection between Islamic law, state law and customary law is best understood through the lens of legal pluralism theory. The consequences for marginalized groups highlight the urgency to prioritize their rights, which requires community engagement and participatory legal reform. The theoretical implications of legal pluralism support it as an analytical instrument, and the comparative analysis places Indonesia in a global context and offers suggestions for useful policy responses. The study concludes by recommending a flexible legal framework, international cooperation, and further investigation to support a more inclusive and egalitarian understanding of land rights in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia's title as the most generous country in the world is supported by the strengthening spirit of social piety movements among the Muslim middle class. Social piety movements are of course also supported by the power of the social movement's collective identity in forming the basis that provides the "structure," foundation for engagement, and guidance for individual participation in its expansion. Unfortunately, the strong link between the development of collective identity in social movement groups has not been explained by previous studies. The aim of this research is to describe how the boundary work mechanism contributes to the development of collective identity in the Muslim middle class social piety movement in the Tangan di Atas (TDA) community. Using qualitative descriptive research, the research was conducted over a period of one year (December 2022-December 2023) and describes the actors and boundary work mechanisms in forming collective identity. The researcher conducted in-depth interviews with several subjects who were administrators as well as members of the TDA community to explore variations in their experiences related to the social piety movement they engage in. Meanwhile, with a phenomenological approach, researchers explore the role of individual knowledge, thoughts and feelings or internal aspects or individual subjectivity. The results of this research show that there are several aspects that can be used to view boundary works as a mechanism for forming the collective identity of social piety movements in the TDA community; shared values and principles, joint activities, mutual recognition and appreciation, and establishing relationships with external parties.

Abstract

This study involves an in-depth analysis of Cultural Communication and Public Opinion Transformation through a case study of the hashtag #FreePalestine on social media. The Israeli-Palestinian controversy sparked a significant shift in public opinion, and these hashtags became an important instrument in weaving complex online narratives. This research aims to understand the impact of Cultural Communication through the hashtag #FreePalestine in transforming public opinion. Her focus includes online mobilization, influence on policy, changing international perceptions, and the formation of activist movements. This research method uses a mixed approach, namely combining qualitative and quantitative analysis. Data collection was carried out on 6 – 25 December 2023. Social media analysis was carried out to track trends, sentiment and relationship networks, while interviews and surveys were used to gain a deeper understanding of the influence of opinion transformation in the real world. This research shows that the hashtag #FreePalestine not only creates changes in online opinion but also mobilizes real action and shapes global narratives that influence policy and business. Cultural communication on social media is key to understanding further impact, with image visualization and visual solidarity being key elements in changing public opinion. The real-world implication of these findings is the importance of understanding the role of social media in shaping public perceptions and opinions regarding global conflict. In the future, this can serve as a guide for policy makers, activists and researchers to design more effective communication strategies in addressing sensitive issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Abstract

General elections in Indonesia have undergone a significant transformation through the adoption of information technology and digitalization. This transformation not only accelerates the voting process, but also has a major impact on the legal regulations governing elections. In this context, the Political Law of Digitalization Policy plays an important role in shaping an effective regulatory framework, especially in dispute prevention. The application of technology in elections should not leave behind some people who are not familiar with digital devices. Therefore, regulations should detail measures to ensure that every citizen has a fair and equal opportunity to participate in the electoral process. Regulations should provide a clear framework for handling complaints, checking discrepancies, and ensuring that election results are acceptable to all parties. Through the adoption of information technology and digitization, it reinforces the political urgency of the policy law. This study aims to determine the contribution of the Election Digitalization Policy in reducing risks and handling potential disputes in general elections. The method used in this research is normative juridical. The results show that the Political Law of Digitalization Policy has a central role in shaping regulations that support modern, inclusive, and dispute-free elections in the digital era. Through this approach, it is expected that Indonesia can move towards more efficient and trustworthy elections. The implementation of election digitization has an impact on increasing transparency and public trust, efficiency and accuracy, accurate data recording, simplifying the electoral process, preventing fraud, and reducing the burden on the Constitutional Court.

Abstract

Mangrove forests, as coastal ecosystems, play a crucial role in maintaining the sustainability of fishery resources and protecting shores from erosion and storms. However, mangrove degradation continues to escalate, primarily due to human activities such as shrimp pond expansion and uncontrolled logging. Public Relations programs can serve as effective tools to raise awareness and engage communities in mangrove conservation. Impact analysis and the development of a collaborative communication model are key to understanding the effectiveness of such programs. This research aims to analyze the impact of the Public Relations program on mangrove conservation and develop a more effective collaborative communication model. The focus is on understanding behavioral changes, community responses, and the program's contribution to the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem. The research methodology employed is qualitative-descriptive with an impact analysis approach. Interviews with representatives from local communities, local governments, non-governmental organizations, and Public Relations practitioners were conducted to gather data. Content analysis was also performed on the program's communication materials. The research findings indicate that the Public Relations program has positively impacted the increase in community awareness and behavioral changes related to mangrove conservation. However, challenges persist concerning environmental uncertainties and the lack of participation from certain segments of the community. A collaborative communication model integrated with mangrove conservation theories, impact analysis, and community engagement proves essential for further improvement. The implications of this research reflect the importance of impact analysis and developing collaborative communication models in Public Relations programs for mangrove conservation. These findings underline that active collaboration with various stakeholders is key to ensuring the sustainability of mangrove ecosystems.

Abstract

In Indonesia, up to 60% of people suffer from lactose intolerance therefore creating lactose-free milk by Milk Life is a vital option. However, despite its benefits, sales are not reaching the brand’s expectations, suggesting the Indonesian market is yet to be fully tapped. This research examines Milk Life's Instagram marketing strategies aimed at enhancing awareness and sales of its lactose-free milk product. Utilizing qualitative research methodology, particularly in-depth interviews for data collection and analysis, it investigates the efficacy of these marketing endeavors in educating consumers and influencing their purchasing behaviors. Upon data collection, the analysis is conducted manually, involving careful examination of interview results, linking them to research questions, and interpreting them in an interpretive manner. Results reveal a significant lack of awareness about lactose intolerance and Milk Life's products, attributed to the current digital marketing approach, which led to low purchase intentions. The study highlights an urgent need for better digital marketing strategies and communication to inform the Indonesian public about the advantages of lactose-free milk. Enhancing online visibility and education could improve market growth and meet the needs of lactose-intolerant individuals. This research emphasizes the role of targeted digital marketing to increase the reach and acceptance of lactose-free milk in Indonesia.
