Abstract

This research endeavors to present tangible evidence on the impact of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors as well as the COVID-19 pandemic on corporate performance, while also considering the moderating influence of the firm life cycle. The conceptual framework applied is the Legitimacy theory, which is utilized to examine the connection between ESG performance, COVID-19, and firm performance. The evaluation of firm performance involves Tobin's Q for assessing firm value and Return on Assets (ROA) for financial performance. Four hypotheses are formulated and subjected to testing. The study utilizes purposive sampling, encompassing all companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) between 2017 and 2022, resulting in 235 data observations. The analysis of hypotheses is conducted through the SPSS Statistics 26 application. The findings demonstrate a noteworthy correlation between ESG performance and COVID-19 with financial performance, and the firm life cycle moderates this relationship. However, ESG performance and COVID-19 do not significantly affect market performance or firm value. Additionally, the firm life cycle does not moderate the relationship between ESG and firm value. The implications of the study suggest that ESG factors play a legitimizing role, contributing to an overall improvement in firm performance.

Abstract

The Indonesian civilization exhibits a profound historical association with and a high level of familiarity with wood as a material, which shaped Indonesia's sociocultural values. However, with the advancement of civilization and the pervasive impact of Western culture, wood has undergone a transformation, becoming a commodity that is predominantly esteemed for its practical usefulness. The significance of wood as a symbol of diplomatic or social rank has diminished throughout time, particularly in the context of palatial environments. Hence, the primary objective of this research is to investigate the influence of sociocultural factors on the inclination of the Indonesian market to adopt the Japandi (Japanese-Scandinavian) style in household goods such as furniture and home accessory design, which is distinguished by its emphasis on minimalistic aesthetics and practicality. In order to reveal these insights, the researchers used the buying intentions theory combined with quantitative explanatory analysis to clarify the observed phenomena and derive conclusions. Data will be gathered via questionnaires employing random sampling, with a focus on the Indonesian market as the target population. The results of the study indicate that social and cultural elements play a significant role in shaping the intention to buy Japandi (Japanese-Scandinavian) home furnishings in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research examines the Flight Information Region (FIR) boundary adjustment between Indonesia and Singapore that affects Indonesia's air navigation sovereignty. Various efforts have been made by Indonesia to take over control of the FIR from Singapore, until finally reaching an agreement in adjusting the FIR boundary in 2022. However, in taking over the FIR, Indonesia faced problems, namely the difficulty of Indonesia taking over the management of the FIR which was previously managed by Singapore, as well as challenges in meeting international standards in FIR management. Although the agreement in adjusting the FIR boundary has been agreed, until now the effort has not achieved the expected results in realizing air navigation sovereignty in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how FIR boundary adjustment can improve Indonesia's air traffic management, national security and economic growth. Obstacles include sovereignty issues, international air traffic management standards, and diplomacy between countries. This research uses the policy analysis method by collecting primary and secondary data to analyze the agreement reached in 2022. The results of this study show that the 2022 Indonesia-Singapore FIR adjustment agreement has not fully guaranteed Indonesia's air navigation sovereignty, but this agreement provides significant progress in Indonesian territory. The implications of the results of this study include improving air traffic efficiency and strengthening Indonesia's sovereignty over its airspace, which can also provide insights for future foreign policy and international cooperation.

Abstract

In 2010, Instagram was introduced as a free photo-sharing app for iOS and Android users, providing a unique platform for sharing life experiences through visual content. This study, spanning five months (July-December 2023), explores the rise of fast fashion consumption and influencer trends in Indonesia. It employs the diffusion model proposed by Beaudoin, Moore, and Goldsmith. Analysis of interview data using NVivo highlights a strong link between the fashion industry and influencers. NVivo enables remote collaboration, allowing individuals from different locations to work on shared data files in real-time. The study emphasizes data collection through structured interviews based on an in-depth examination of influencers. Findings reveal that the high-value nature of fast fashion significantly influences Indonesian influencers, driven by the growing popularity of consumer trends and ongoing style improvements in the fashion industry. However, it emphasizes the importance of recognizing that unquestionably following trends can profoundly shape an individual's lifestyle, echoing previous research on the pivotal role of trends in fashion choices. Overall, the research underscores the substantial impact of trends and influencers on Indonesia's fast fashion landscape.
