Abstract

In general, this research aims to analyze the effect of CAMEL’s factors, namely BOPO, CAR, NPL, and LDR on the bank's financial performance. As well as the external factors of Digitalization and Bank Size on the bank's financial performance. In this case, the bank's financial performance is proxied by ROA. The population in this study are conventional banks registered with the Financial Services Authority totaling 107 banks. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 10 banks that met the criteria. The approach used is panel data regression with a random effect model as the best model. Data analysis software uses E-Views 12. The results of this study found that BOPO and CAR have a negative effect on financial performance. LDR, Digitization, and Bank Size each have a positive effect on financial performance. But, NPL does not affect bank performance. From these results, banks are expected to be able to improve financial performance and bank management performance so that creditors have a good perception of bank performance in the future. And must be able to maintain the soundness of the bank by considering all possible risks that will arise. In research, bank digitization has shown quite good results. However, banks must continue to innovate on digital banking while continuing to be accompanied by an increase in the number of customers and pay attention to the infrastructure costs of digitalization.

Abstract

Employment in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) sector is associated with men’s occupation. STEM is perceived to be more suitable for men mirroring the long-held gender stereotyping of occupations. With the growth in automation and digitalization, women have more opportunities to find jobs in the STEM sector. However, to avail of these opportunities, women need support to adapt to the changes in the job market by developing soft skills that can complement their technical competencies. The present research aims to investigate how soft skills training can help female STEM graduates in the transition from school to work. The study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive phenomenological method. Data was collected through interviews and a literature review. The findings of this research demonstrate that soft skills training improved self-confidence and helped female graduates to prepare better for jobs in the STEM sector. The study argues additional program and support such as structured soft skills training needed to better prepare female students compete in STEM’s employment. By doing so, the number of women who wish to study and pursue a career in the STEM sector can be increased. Soft skills training can improve work readiness and create a more level playing field for women in the STEM sector.

Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are an important sector in the Indonesian economy, because they can create jobs and improve income distribution. However, many MSMEs experience difficulties in gaining access to markets and developing their businesses due to a lack of skills and knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of entrepreneurship training for MSMEs in increasing income. This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews and literature studies. The results of the study show that entrepreneurship training for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is effective in increasing income. In the study, MSMEs who attended entrepreneurship training showed a significant increase in their income compared to MSMEs who did not attend training. This is because entrepreneurship training equips business actors with the skills and knowledge needed to increase the efficiency and productivity of their businesses, as well as opens opportunities to expand networks and markets. In addition, entrepreneurship training also helps increase the confidence and motivation of business actors, so that they are better prepared and able to face challenges in developing their businesses. Therefore, entrepreneurship training can be one of the key factors in increasing MSME income and supporting economic growth at the local and national levels.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by malnutrition over a long period of time, resulting in children becoming short. Stunting is not only a problem of impaired physical growth, but also causes children to become easily sick, impaired brain development and intelligence, so stunting is a major threat to the quality of human resources in Indonesia. Indonesia's stunting prevalence is 24.4% in 2021, based on the results of the Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) by the Ministry of Health. This figure is quite high and still above the standard tolerated by WHO, which is below 20%. For this reason, efforts are needed to reduce stunting rates with aromatherapy footing. The study aims to analyze the effect of aromatherapy massage on appetite, IGF-1 levels, body weight, and height in stunted toddlers. The research design used was pretest-postest with control group design. The number of samples in this study was 32 subjects, which were divided into two groups, 16 subjects in the intervention group were given aromatherapy massage 3 times a week with a duration of 15 minutes for 8 weeks and the control group was given standard care for stunting toddlers given PMT biscuits. The probability sampling technique is simple random sampling. The data studied were appetite, IGF-1 levels, body weight, and height of stunted toddlers. Data analysis using Wilcoxon Test, Man Wihtney Test, Paired T-test, and Independent T-test. The results show there were differences between before and after aromatherapy massage in the intervention group on appetite (P = 0.001), IGF-1 levels (P = 0.000), body weight (P = 0.000), and height (P = 0.000). Aromatherapy massage 3 times a week for a duration of 15 minutes for 8 weeks is effective in increasing appetite, IGF-1 levels, weight, and height of stunted toddlers.

Abstract

Mobile governance (m-Governance) has emerged as a new paradigm for governance in many countries, including India. This study investigates the benefits and barriers of m-governance in the context of Jammu and Kashmir. The study used an analytical and documentary method to reach at conclusion. The findings suggest that m-governance has the potential to enhance citizen engagement and participation, increase transparency and accountability, and improve service delivery. The study also highlights several barriers that hinder the effective implementation of m-governance, including the lack of technological infrastructure and expertise, low literacy rates, and limited access to mobile devices and network connectivity, particularly in rural areas. Furthermore, the study identified concerns related to data privacy and security as a significant challenge to the adoption of m-governance. The study recommends that policymakers should take a holistic approach to m-governance by addressing the barriers and challenges while leveraging the benefits of mobile technology. The study recommends that the government should prioritize the establishment of technological infrastructure, providing digital literacy programs, and strengthening data protection laws to address citizens' privacy concerns. The study concludes that m-governance has the potential to transform the governance landscape in Jammu and Kashmir by improving transparency, accountability, and service delivery, but it requires a collaborative effort from policymakers, government officials, citizens, and private stakeholders to overcome the barriers and harness its full potential.

Abstract

The issue faced by rice farmers in Cirebon is the brown planthopper pest. Brown planthopper infestations can lead to crop damage of up to 40%, and many farmers experience crop failures. This research aims to determine the effect of the concentration of the active insecticide ingredients Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine in controlling the brown planthopper pest and the yield of rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) of Inpari 32 cultivar. The experimental site was at an altitude of approximately 3 meters above sea level. The experimental design used a randomized group design (RGD). There were 5 levels of insecticide concentration treatments and a control (no treatment), each repeated 5 times, resulting in 25 experimental plots. The treatment levels included A (Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine = 1 g/l), B (Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine = 0.75 g/l), C (Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine = 0.5 g/l), D (Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine = 0.25 g/l), and E (control). The experimental results show that the application of the active ingredient Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine effectively reduces the intensity of brown planthopper and other pest attacks on Inpari 32 rice plants, but it does not affect natural enemies. The Nitenpyram + Pymetrozine active ingredient does not cause harm to the rice plants themselves. Based on the data, the results for all concentration levels are relatively the same. However, there is the most efficient concentration, namely the treatment of the active ingredient Nitenpyram + Pimetrozin 0.25 g/l which is capable of producing dry grain of 12.43 kg/plot or the equivalent of 4.972 tonnes/hectare.
