Abstract

The numerous benefits and uses of chilies have led to a constant increase in demand as the population of Indonesia grows. Anthracnose is a disease that often affects chili peppers and is caused by the fungus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Farmers typically use fungicides to control anthracnose. Common active ingredients applied for anthracnose control include Mancozeb, Chlorothalonil, Propineb, and copper hydroxide. The research was conducted in the village of Ambit, Waled District, Cirebon Regency, West Java Province. The study took place over three months, from July to September 2023. The research method used a Randomized Group Design (RGD) consisting of five treatments with different active fungicide ingredients and a control (without treatment), repeated five times, resulting in 25 experimental plots. The treatments were A (Copper hydroxide active ingredient), B (Mancozeb active ingredient), C (Chlorothalonil active ingredient), D (Propineb active ingredient), E (Control /no fungicide). The fungicide concentration used was 2 ml/liter. The experimental results showed that the various active fungicide treatments had a significant effect on the intensity of anthracnose disease (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) and other diseases like gemini virus. The Chlorothalonil active ingredient showed the lowest intensity of disease anthracnose when compared to the other treatments, even with other active ingredients that were tested. Fungicide treatments had a significant impact on chili yields per plot compared to the control treatment without fungicide. The Chlorothalonil active ingredient treatment yielded higher chili harvest results compared to other treatments, reaching 15.97 kg/plot or 15.97 tons/ha.

Abstract

Customs and values within Indigenous communities form the basis of customary behavior in understanding human conduct, particularly in the context of Balinese indigenous women's behavior as guardians of tradition in an empirical approach to legal anthropology. This means that the legal norms used to observe the behaviors of Balinese indigenous women as custodians of indigenous traditions within the frame of cultural relativism represent legal realities apparent in legal situations or any legal events that genuinely occur within the indigenous community, as manifestations of the indigenous women's behaviors in preserving sacred traditions. This is based on an empirical approach to Legal Anthropology. Whether acknowledged or not by the indigenous community, the empirical approach to cultural relativism fundamentally holds a social and cultural value system that can serve as the social capital of the nation. The community's attitudes and behaviors rooted in tradition are guided by values believed to be true, exemplifying the traditional values and cultures passed down through generations and perceived as instruments for social control and religious values that guide human life, manifesting the preservation of local cultural relativism among the local indigenous community. Indigenous communities in these regions become the focal research site with the hope of safeguarding traditional values as a reinforcement of customary practices, the culture, and the traditions of the local indigenous community, which embody the manifestation of protected local wisdom governed by regional customary laws. The methodological approach utilized involves the Empirical Approach of Legal Anthropology linked with the theory of cultural relativism, leading to the conclusion that the approach involves field observations, interviews with research informants, and analyzing primary, secondary, and tertiary data sources through the lens of cultural relativism concerning the behaviors of indigenous women based on an empirical approach within the context of indigenous customary law.

Abstract

Amidst the changing times reflected in the rapid growth of the information technology industry in Indonesia driven by technology startups, there are still challenges regarding gender equality and disability inclusion. Data shows an increase in women's participation in technology, but their representation in leadership positions remains low. Additionally, people with disabilities still face barriers to entering this sector. Major companies like GoTo and Grab are paying attention to the importance of these issues and are starting to implement them in their operations, as depicted in the Sustainability Report of GoTo and the ESG Report of Grab for the year 2022. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze these reports, focusing on gender equality and disability inclusion. The results are expected to provide insights into how major technology companies in Indonesia perceive and address issues of equality and inclusion.

The purpose of this study was to determine the political communication strategy and the inhibiting factors and opportunities for political communication of the Al Haris and Abdullah Sani winning team. In an effort to obtain victory in the contestation of the Governor's Election in Jambi Province in 2020, which is pursued through careful political communication planning, the dissemination of issues regarding the candidate pair competing for the number one seat in the government is important to achieve victory. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Researchers use Political Marketing theory with three approaches, namely: push marketing, pull marketing, pass marketing. In this study the author took four informants as samples. Data collection in this study was collected from observations, interviews, and documentation. From the results of the study, there were several roles performed by the Al Haris and Abdullah Sani winning team during the campaign period, the campaign strategy was carried out in three ways: face-to-face campaigns, campaigns using social media, and open campaigns. The obstacles experienced by the winning team of Al Haris and Abdullah Sani in the field are semantic factors, namely the lack of solid coordination and communication between the winning team and perceptual distortion, namely errors caused by the narrow thinking of novice voters so that it is quite difficult to convey the programs and vision and mission of the candidate pair.

Abstract

To achieve the goals of national education, efforts are needed, such as maximizing the learning experiences of students because learning experiences greatly influence learning outcomes, especially in vocational education. Students' learning experiences can be accommodated through three activities: curricular, extracurricular, and co-curricular. While curricular and extracurricular activities are frequently heard of and discussed, it seems that co-curricular activities have not been fully utilized for strengthening learning. Co-curricular activities are carried out to reinforce, deepen, or enrich curricular activities. They are conducted outside regular class hours (including during breaks) and can take place in school or off-campus to support curricular implementation. Co-curricular activities must directly support the curricular activities and the students' learning interests with an emphasis on a more realistic context. Therefore, it is not solely focused on the curricular content, as it emphasizes real-world problem contexts, co-curricular activities have numerous benefits for students. Some of the benefits of co-curricular activities include character development, the cultivation of good values, the development of social skills and leadership abilities, the promotion of awareness and appreciation of diversity, increased enthusiasm in addressing evolving global issues, and the development of literacy and numeracy competencies. This can also be observed at Malahayati School of Maritime Polytechnic where co-curricular learning is one of the mandatory activities applied to cadets to help reinforce the learning materials they acquire in the classroom.

Abstract

Diarrhea remains a significant health concern worldwide, particularly in developing countries, contributing to 10% of deaths in children under 5 years. Bacterial infections, notably Shigella and Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC), are prevalent causes. This study explores the association between vitamin D3 levels and acute diarrhea in children through a systematic literature review and meta-analysis. Ten studies, including case-control, cross-sectional, and cohort designs, were analyzed. The meta-analysis revealed a significant relationship between vitamin D3 deficiency and acute diarrhea, indicating a higher risk in children with lower vitamin D3 levels. While conflicting findings exist, this study provides valuable insights into the potential role of vitamin D3 in mitigating the risk of acute diarrhea in children.
