Abstract

This research was motivated by the SMA Negeri 1 Kasongan school which never identified student errors in solving trigonometry problems. This type of research is descriptive with quantitative and qualitative approaches. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. Subjects are students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Kasongan for the academic year 2021/2022. Data collection techniques used are tests and interviews conducted face-to-face at school. The research instrument used was a test sheet consisting of 3 items of description. The test questions in this study were reviewed by three raters. The types of errors made by students in solving trigonometry problems are: Fact Error (A1) most students miswrite the term (name) or symbol/notation used in trigonometry material, Concept Error (A2) students do not understand abstract ideas in trigonometry material so that students cannot solve trigonometry problems, and Operational Errors (A3) students work on problems not according to the correct problem solving procedure, Principle Errors (A4) students do not understand the relationship between several facts and concepts and theorems associated with relations or operations so that errors occur in the completion process and result. The factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving trigonometry problems in the sub-material of trigonometry comparisons in right triangles, namely: Knowledge, in the form of lack of facts, truths or information obtained by students regarding the material that has been studied from simple to difficult material. Understanding, in the form of a lack of students' ability to understand the content of the material. Application, in the form of a student's lack of ability to apply the material that has been learned in new situations and involves the use of rules or principles.

Abstract

With the impacts of rapid technological advances, it is undeniable that many various technology-based learning media are created. Learning media has many benefits, one of which is as a tool to convey learning objectives. Moreover, for history learning, it is no stranger that many students are not interested in learning history. Because history learning contains various kinds of events that require students to remember all these things. Therefore, the use of media is needed in history learning. The purpose of the research was to description the use of Wordwall app in history learning in XI class of SMAN 5 Pontianak. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. The research location at SMAN 5 Pontianak. The data collection technique uses interviews, observations, and documentation. The source of research informants is history teachers and class XI students of SMAN 5 Pontianak. The research results are that the use of Wordwall app can help teachers convey historical materials that are difficult for students to understand. Meanwhile, for students, learning history using Wordwall app is a new and fun experience, so students more interested and active during the history learning process.

Abstract

Universities are required to be able to adapt the existing education system to the current state of the Indonesian industry. Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is a policy of the Minister of Education and Culture that encourages students to master various sciences as a subject before entering the world of business and industry. The purpose of the study was to find out the perspectives of the ITS Information Systems Department students regarding the implementation of the MBKM policy. This research uses a case study method with a qualitative approach. The results showed that 42.1% of students contributed to discussions/meetings/workshops related to the preparation for the implementation of MBKM, 44.7% of students stated that there was a fairly good increase in capacity, and 50% of students stated that there was an improvement in the quality of the learning process well. The main obstacle that affect the implementation of MBKM is curriculum adjustments.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the important role of education in shaping a child's personality to have the ability to answer the demands of the times. The purpose of this research is to serve as a source of literacy that encourages efforts to develop 21st century skills by prioritizing the Jigsaw learning model. This study uses a library research research method. Library study is a form of study that is used to collect information and data with the help of various materials in the library. The data collection technique in this study was through documentation, namely finding data regarding matters in the form of notes, books, papers or articles, and journals. -Based on research results, cooperative learning with the jigsaw method is closely related to 21st century skills. Jigsaw learning can train activeness, collaboration, and communication.

Abstract

The discussion in this study is about how the Agenda Setting policy for general English courses in the transition period from the Covid 19 Pandemic to the Covid 19 Endemic At the Merdeka Learning Program - Merdeka Campus at the University of Tangerang Raya where English is an international language source which incidentally is related to a lot of information related to insight, science through written, print, electronic media as a source of information in communicating universally.The purpose of this research is how the Agenda Setting of the Independent Learning Policy - Merdeka Campus in the general English course lectures at the University of Tangerang Raya with a critical review of the Agenda Setting Deddi Fasmadhy.In addition, analyzing policies related to various obstacles encountered during lectures in the Merdeka Learning program – Merdeka campus.The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach.The results obtained from this research are that the distance learning method policy (PJJ) can produce good output. Students can take part in lectures properly supported and well prepared by the University of Tangerang Raya. For this research, we provide recommendations for problems that arise during lectures, so that the output of distance learning policies through online zoom or Google meet is the quality of learning is maintained, the quality is even increased in quality for all human resources involved in this online distance learning. . The weakness of students' comprehension is due to the limitations of online Zoom media, students are given individual assignments. It is hoped that the managerial lectures can improve the quality of superior English lectures,

Abstract

Mathematical literacy or usually known as numeracy is an interesting educational topic because it is one of the competency standard criteria for graduates. The purpose of this research is to describe students' mathematical literacy in working on contextual mathematic problems. This research method is descriptive qualitative research which the instruments are tests of mathematical literacy skills and interviews. This research was conducted on 3rd semester mathematics education students. Result of this research is description of the subjects that has the best mathematical literacy among the others. Students who have good mathematical literacy when working on contextual problems will identify and create the variables needed for the initial step of solving the problem. Then he can use concepts, facts, procedures, and mathematical reasoning by using the variables he has created and connecting them with the his knowledge. Finally he also interprets, applies, and evaluates the results mathematically by providing conclusions from the solutions he has worked on.

Abstract

An instruction should encourages, enables and guides students to prepare, ready and being able to an appropriate learning environment in reaching their successfulness, therefore a successful student builds such kinds of efforts, desires to determine or arrange positive motivation to come to good result of a learning process of him. The good result of the learning process is built by a good motivation which is related to a students’ capability to cope effectively with disturbances, a crucial part of self-regulated learning. Being a self regulated learning on online learning during pandemic era must be followed and supported by students’ own motivation. It would be intrinsic or extrinsic motivation. Realizing this condition, the writers structuring students to elaborate their own motivation for being independent students as self regulated learner in instructional event. When students are capable to pay attention, they themselves must have their own positive environment on motivation itself that allows them to reach the meaning of content material has learnt. Self-regulated students is provided to promote elements of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in an instructional environment which enable students to meet their learning goals successfully to compete with others goals in order for getting attention and other cognitive resources. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group counseling using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) technique in increasing the self-confidence of students in class VIII-7 at SMP Negeri 2 Palangka Raya. The 'One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design' is the pre-experimental research design used in this study. Six children from class VIII–7 at SMPN 2 Palangka Raya were chosen as samples for this study, and samples were collected using the Purposive Sampling Technique to ensure that they met the sample selection criteria. A questionnaire is the primary to collect data. Then, using parametric statistics from the Paired Sample T-test (SPSS Program Version 25), the data were examined. The results revealed that the calculated t value compared to the t table value is 39.385 > 2.571 and the calculated t value compared to the paired sample t test was sig. 0.000 0.05. This is also supported by the calculation of R square to determine the percentage of research effectiveness, using this Summary Model, which came out to be 0.422 or 42%. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, indicating that group counseling services contextual teaching and learning (CTL) methodologies are effective to increase students' self-confidence at SMP Negeri 2 Palangka Raya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the suitability of the distribution of cognitive level questions in the “Matematika Kelas VII SMP” textbook published by the Kemendikbud written by Susanto, et al (2022) and the “Matematika Kelas VII SMP” textbook written by Mairing (2020). This research is an evaluative study, using the discrepancy evaluation model. The data sources in this study were questions in the “Matematika Kelas VII SMP” textbook (Susanto, et al, 2022) (called textbook A) and the “Matematika Kelas VII SMP”  textbook (Mairing, 2020) (called textbook B). Samples were taken using a proportional stratification random sampling technique to determine the number of samples taken in each chapter and the questions that became the research sample. The analysis of textbook questions was based on the cognitive level of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy, and was evaluated by comparing the distribution of textbook cognitive levels to the cognitive dimensions of the TIMSS 2015 Assessment Framework. Of the 135 questions analyzed in textbook A, the distribution of cognitive levels was 14.8% remembering, 46.7% understanding, 20.7% applying, 9.6% analyzing, 4.5% evaluating, 3.7% creating. Meanwhile, of the 188 questions analyzed in textbook B, the distribution of cognitive levels was 0.5% remembering, 40% understanding, 40.4% applying, 11.2% analyzing, 7.4% evaluating, and 0.5% creating. The results showed that the questions in textbooks A and B were quite good because there were each cognitive level according to the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy in both textbooks. However, the distribution of cognitive levels in textbooks A and B still does not match the proportions of the TIMSS 2015 cognitive dimensions. The distribution of cognitive levels according to the TIMSS 2015 Assessment Framework is 35% knowing (remembering and understanding), 45% applying (applying), and 25% reasoning (analyze, evaluate, and create). Realization of the findings in textbook A is 61.5% knowing, 20.7% applying, and 17.8% reasoning. While the distribution in textbook B is 40.5% knowing, 40.4% applying, and 19.1% reasoning. Both textbooks are still lacking in questions of the reasoning type (analyze, evaluate, create). Thus, both textbooks are of fairly good quality, but improvements need to be made by adding questions at the cognitive level of analyzing, evaluating, and creating.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical communication abilities in writing and orally and to find out the factors causing the low mathematical communication skills of students in one of the Palangka Raya High Schools. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The subjects of this study were students of class X-MIPA 4 at the school. To find out the factors causing the low ability of students' mathematical communication, 2 students were selected from each category of students' ability to be interviewed. Data collection techniques using written and oral tests and interviews. The results showed that students' mathematical communication abilities in the exponential function material in this class were moderate. Internal factors that cause low students' mathematical communication skills are: 1) Knowledge: Students cannot explain exponential functions, 2) Understanding: Lack of students' ability to understand the intent of the questions and content of the material so that students cannot solve the questions given, 3) Application: lack of students' ability to apply formulas related to exponential functions.
