Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of the process of implementing serial picture media with a chain story technique so that it can improve the speaking skills of class IV students of SDN 5 Palangka and to determine the improvement of students' speaking skills through the application of serial picture media with a chain story technique in class IV students of SDN 5 Palangka. This study was conducted using classroom action research carried out at SDN 5 Palangka. The subjects of this study were class IV students of SDN 5 Palangka in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The data collection technique used was Observation and Test Data analysis using classical value percentage calculations with a success indicator of 70% for student learning outcomes. The results of the study, namely the results of the initial speaking skills test, the average value was 63.42 with the criteria of being less achieved and classical completeness of 36.84%, this criterion is included in the very poor category, in cycle I the test results with classical values became 63.15% and an average score of 70.15. In cycle II, there was an increase in learning outcomes, namely an increase to 89,48% with an average of 81,47, namely 16 people were in the completed category and 3 students were in the incomplete category. The implementation of learning activities by applying a series of picture media with a chain story technique in each teacher activity and student activity was also carried out well. The results of student activities in cycle I were 2.43 with a sufficient category, in cycle II there was an increase to 3.06 with a good category. The results of teacher activities in cycle I were 2.61 with a sufficient category then in cycle II there was an increase to 3.18 and a good category. This shows that teachers can manage learning by applying a series of picture media with a chain story technique well.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Discovery Learning (DL) models based on the learning outcomes of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Palangka Raya. The research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental post-test only design. The samples used in this study were the students from classes X-2 and X-3. The data collection technique employed was a post-test to measure the students' learning outcomes. The results of the study show that (1) the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving the mathematics learning outcomes of students in class X-2 SMA Negeri 5 Palangka Raya, with 56% of students achieving scores above average. (2) Based on the t-test, the p-value for the DL model was found to be less than 0.05, indicating that the DL model provides a significantly better improvement in learning outcomes compared to the PBL model. The average post-test score for the class using the DL model (90.9) was higher than that of the class using the PBL model (80.28), showing a significant difference in learning outcomes

Abstract

Implementing WDEP Group Counseling to Reduce Intolerance and Foster Religious Moderation   Abstract Knowledge regarding religious attitudes that influence social life in schools is essential to be conveyed, not only through religious education subjects but also through activities that promote religious tolerance. This is conducted to realize religious moderation. Group counseling services using the WDEP technique are expected to be a solution to prevent intolerance and enhance students' ability to be tolerant amidst religious diversity. This study employed a research and development (R&D) approach using the Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology. The pretest results showed a high level of reduced intolerance in building religious moderation among students: 4 students (80%) in group 1, 1 student (20%) in group 2, and 2 students (40%) in group 3. Meanwhile, the posttest results indicated increased scores: 5 students (100%) in group 1, 3 students (60%) in group 2, and 3 students (60%) in group 3. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the WDEP technique group counseling prototype design has proven to be effective and feasible in reducing intolerance at SMAN 2. The implementation of the collaboratively designed WDEP technique counseling service resulted in the development of a WDEP Technique Group Counseling Service Guidebook.

Abstract

Learning media plays an important role in the teaching and learning process. The use of media is expected to create positive impacts, such as a more conducive learning environment, feedback, and optimal outcomes. The Sitaya Miniature Media represents a "Solar System" model. This media is a scaled-down replica of the actual arrangement of planets, designed for classroom use to address limitations of time, space, and sensory experiences. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Sitaya miniature media on the cognitive abilities of children in group B aged 5-6 years at TK Islam Darussalam Palangka Raya. This research employs a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a "One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design." The sample consists of 17 children from group B at TK Islam Darussalam Palangkaraya, aged 5-6 years. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded from the t-test calculation that the t value obtained is 4.587, while the t table value at a significance level of 5% with 16 degrees of freedom is 2.119. Since t calculated (4.587) > t table (2.119), it can be concluded that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This indicates that there is an effectiveness of the Sitaya miniature media on the cognitive abilities of children in group B aged 5-6 years at TK Islam Darussalam Palangkaraya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical communication ability in terms of students self- confidence in solving problems related to statistical material. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The subjects in this study were 25 students, taken 3 students with each student with high, medium, and low self-confidence. The data collection technique used 3 essay test questions on statistical material, a self-confidence questionnaire, and interviews. The data obtained were then analyzed based on indicators of mathematical communication ability, namely, presenting mathematical symbols, making mathematical models, and writing. The results of the study showed that students with high self-confidence had high mathematical communication skills and were able to meet all indicators of mathematical communication ability. Students with medium and low self-confidence had medium mathematical communication skills and met two indicators of mathematical communication ability. Students with medium and low self-confidence were only able to meet two indicators, namely presenting mathematical symbols and writing. Therefore, teachers are expected to be able to improve students' mathematical communication skills by increasing joint discussion activities, presentations, question and answer sessions between teachers and students and students with students, as well as providing students with lots of practice questions so that students' self-confidence also increases.
