Abstract

This paper discusses patriotism in the context of the millennial era through an analysis of the interpretation of Marāh Labīd by Syekh Nawāwī Al-Bantenī. This research explores Al-Bantenī’s views on the values of patriotism and how these views are relevant in the millennial era implied in his commentary. The textual analysis method is used to identify Al-Bantenī’s views on love for the motherland, obligations to the state, and participation in community development. The results of this study provide insight that according to Al-Bantenī, patriotism in the Qur’an is at least implied in QS. Al-Taubah [9]: 71, QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 126, QS. Al-Nisā’: [4]:59, and QS. Al-Maidah [5]:2. Sheikh Nawāwī Al-Bantenī's interpretation of the five characteristics of patriotism above is still relevant in the millennial era. Considering that the millennial generation is the generation of hope for the nation. They are expected to become leaders and provide better change for the nation in the future. In addition, by looking at the characters possessed by the millennial generation, the character is good at socializing to establish friendships which creates an attitude of responsibility and a confident character to express defenses. One of its applications is to establish communities that care about others and invite the millennial generation to participate in several discussion forums

Abstract

Kiai Sholeh Darat’s Tafsīr Faid} al-Rahmān influenced RA. Kartini’s view of Islam, especially on the meaning of the Qur'an, which was previously considered sacred so that no one could interpret it. With Kartini’s request, Tafsīr Faid} al-Rahmān was written using the tartīb mush}afī writing system (following the order of the Mushaf al-Qur’an), using the tahlili interpretation method and the Ishāri (Sufistic) style. The formulation of the problem of this research is how the correlation between the term out of darkness comes the light, then what is the background of writing Tafsīr Faid} al-Rahmān, and why the term out of darkness comes the light is considered a kartini term. The method used is the maud}ū’ī interpretation method or thematic interpretation that explains Q.S. Al-Baqarah (2): 257 with the theme of Kartini’s popularized adage. Analysis of QS. Al-Baqarah (2): 257 produces two interpretations, the first by Kiai Sholeh Darat with his ishārī interpretation that z{ulumāt (darkness) means disbelief and al-nūr (light) is interpreted as faith for believers. Meanwhile, R.A. Kartini interpreted z{ulumāt (darkness) as ignorance and al-nūr (light) as guidance. Then the relevance between the term “out of darkness comes light” (habis gelap terbitlah terang) by Kartini with QS. Al-Baqarah (2): 257 as a representation of the initial openness of science in Javanese interpretation and also the opening of interpretations that could be understood by Javanese society at that time.

Abstract

In navigating life cannot be separated from a problem, the problems of Muslims are also different, both problems regarding themselves or problems from social aspects. Wasilah is a term used by Muslims as an intermediary to pray to Allah so that their prayers will be answered and their needs can be resolved. The majority of Muslims in understanding wasilah tend to give meaning as a means of intermediary, namely making certain things to be intermediaries to Allah.Wasilah is not something that must be done nor is it a cause for prayer to be answered, but the most important and essential thing is to pray absolutely to Allah. The term wasilah is also explained in Q.S al-Maidah verse 35 and Q.S al-Isra’ verse 57. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with maqashidi interpretation approach. Checking the validity is done by looking directly at the text of the book or the original book which discusses the interpretation of Q.S al-Maidah verse 35 and al-Isra' verse 57. The results of the study found: aspects of maqasid hifzu din and hifzu nafs as well as human values and values of responsibility

Discussions about the history of Qur’an knowledge and tafsir development in Indonesia have not been prevalent recently. It is less lively than discussing Western ideas from Indonesian students studying in the West. Abstract

In the Qur’an, several stories tell of the turmoil of the Prophets and pious people. Humanity in general and Muslims in particular have certainly felt troubled in their lives, both because of worldly and spiritual matters. Confusion in the Qur’an occurs to a servant related to religion and belief. Meanwhile, nowadays, many things are found that lead to confusion in world affairs. This can be seen from the many confused posts about feelings of love. This research aims to analyze the stories of the Prophets and pious people who contain turmoil in the Qur’an and to provide information regarding solutions to overcome anxiety, according to M. Quraish Shihab. This research was carried out using qualitative methods; the type of research was library research, a historical approach using a bibliographic approach. The data sources used in this research consist of primary and secondary data. The primary source is the Al-Mishbah commentary book. Meanwhile, secondary sources are supporting data that make studying more accessible, such as journal articles, books, etc. Next, the interpretation is presented using Abd's thematic interpretation approach. Al-Hayy Al-Farmawī, namely, an interpretation that seeks direct answers from the Qur’an about a problem. The results of this research are that M. Quraish Shihab interprets the troubled stories of the Prophets and pious people in his tafsir with the words anxious and restless. The story of Maryam, the holy woman of tells the anxious situation. QS. Maryam [19]: 19-28, due to the influence of the accusation sentence, is the story of the Prophet Moses and the magicians. QS. T}āh{ā [20]: 57-70, which caused events carried out by witches, and the story of the Prophet Ibrahim seeking God QS. Al-An’ām [6]: 75-83 caused by human nature to want to prove the presence of God. The story that tells of a state of anxiety is the story of the Prophet Muhammad, who missed the revelation. QS. Al-Duha [93]: 1-5, which is due to allegations that Allah abandoned the Prophet and the story of Aisyah losing the necklace. QS. Al-Nūr [24]: 11-18, caused by accusations without evidence. The interpretation of troubled stories in the Al-Mishbah interpretation has causes and solutions to the troubled stories in the Qur’an. Each story has different conditions, and each trouble has its solution. Allah provides solutions to the Prophet and pious people in the Qur’an in various forms of expression. However, it is focused on one point: drawing closer to Allah and keeping away things that can damage the heart from envy and other bad qualities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze maqamat studies on two well-known commentary websites in Indonesia, namely Tafsiralquran.id and Tanwir.id. The research was carried out using the method of comparative analysis, involving the collection of data from the two websites. In the early stages, the researcher explored and selected materials related to maqamat studies. Then, the collected data is analyzed qualitatively, taking into account the use of maqamat, related explanations and interpretations, as well as differences or similarities between the two. The research model that the author uses uses a Library research methodology. Namely research that is descriptive in nature and compiles data in the form of verbal narratives, not with numbers and tends to be narrative. In conclusion, this study shows the difference in approach between Tafsiralquran.id and Tanwir.id in presenting maqamat studies. Tafsiralquran.id prioritizes a traditional approach by referring to classical interpretations, while Tanwir.id takes a more contemporary approach by paying attention to the context and current issues. These findings provide valuable insights for web interpreters in selecting sources that suit their needs and preferences.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the widespread occurrence of phubbing activities in the surrounding environment. Phubbing, or phone snubbing, is a detrimental activity where individuals ignore their conversation partners and focus more on their handheld smartphones. This study aims to explore a profound understanding of phubbing behavior in the context of the Qur’an and to determine the Qur’an’s perspective on phubbing behavior. This research adopts a qualitative approach employing literature review methods (library research), with data derived from two sources: primary and secondary. Primary sources include interpretations by Indonesian scholars such as Quraish Shihab and Buya Hamka, while secondary sources consist of literature related to the discussion. The thematic method is also used to gather verses addressing phubbing behavior. The results of this research include: 1) Patterns of phubbing individuals spending time on games and addictive behaviors on gadgets. 2) Explanations about communication ethics in the Qur’an, where phubbing behavior can damage the quality of communication for individuals and their conversation partners. 3) Phubbing behavior can diminish the quality of time. Abstract

This research focuses on the issue of patriotism, which is then linked to the foundations of the Qur’an and Hadith, its contextualization with Indonesia (NKRI), and its relationship with the caliphate, imamate, and similar Islamic political systems. The indicators of patriotism and its contextualization with NKRI are important to discuss, given that many circles question the democratic system in Indonesia and consider it a rejected system, taghut, and a form of disbelief, such as groups like Hizb al-Tahrīr (HT), the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Khilafatul Muslimin (KM) who promote the concept of the caliphate, Shia who promote the concept of the imamate, and the like. The research is motivated by the recent phenomenon of many young Indonesians being affected by the aforementioned ideologies and becoming overly zealous in their religion. This concern is supported by survey results from several institutions. A survey by the Lembaga Kajian Islam dan Perdamaian (LaKIP) on radicalism among students and Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in Jabodetabek from October 2010 to January 2011 showed that nearly 50% agreed with radical actions; 25% of students and 21% of teachers stated that Pancasila was irrelevant; 84.8% of students and 76.2% of teachers agreed with the implementation of Islamic law; and 52.3% of students and 14.2% justified bomb attacks. The Pew Research Center’s 2015 study revealed that about 10 million Indonesians supported ISIS, most of whom were young people. This research attempts to objectively view the above phenomenon based on the Qur’an and Hadith literature and its relation to the concept of dar al-mitsaq, so that the people of this country, especially its youth, do not become overly zealous in their religion. Ultimately, this research concludes that: 1) There are ten indicators of religious moderation practices, including patriotism, which is defined as the feeling that arises from the heart of a citizen to serve, maintain, defend, and protect their homeland from all threats and disturbances, willing to sacrifice for the interests of their nation and country, and love the customs and culture of their nation, thus not easily accepting offers from other nations that could harm their own nation; 2) Like the Medina Charter, Pancasila is a national consensus agreed upon by the founding fathers of Indonesia. All nations within it, without exception, are protected by the state as long as they do not violate the agreement and do not break the law in terms of norms, ethics, and legality.
