FOCUS AND SCOPE Enggang adalah jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Enggang dipilih sebagai nama jurnal ini karena kehidupan masyarakat Kalimantan Tengah tidak jauh dari alam, termasuk kedekatannya pada burung yang bernama enggang. Burung enggang merupakan simbol kebesaran dan kemuliaan suku Dayak di Kalimantan Tengah. Burung enggang juga melambangkan perdamaian dan persatuan, sayapnya yang tebal melambangkan pemimpin yang selalu melindungi rakyatnya. Ekor panjangnya dianggap sebagai tanda kemakmuran rakyat suku Dayak. Kaitannya dengan jurnal ini, tidak lain adalah mengambil makna filosofis kebesaran burung enggang agar jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya ini, nantinya menjadi besar yang akan dikenal secara lokal, nasional, dan internasional. Jurnal Enggang sebagai jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya merupakan salah satu wadah untuk mengumpulkan dan melestarikan kekayaan kita yang tidak ternilai harganya. Tentunya kekayaan yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Jurnal ini hadir untuk siapa saja yang mencintai dan ingin berkarya di bidang pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Selain itu, kami sebagai pengurus jurnal ini bersedia memberikan bimbingan dan pelatihan untuk siapa saja yang ingin maju dan berkompeten dalam hal menulis karya fiksi maupun nonfiksi. Melalui bimbingan dan pelatihan pasti gairah menulis para calon pendidik, para pendidik, dan para pecinta pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya bangkit dengan semangat membara. Abstract

This research aims to analyse the image of women in the short story entitled “Rabiah” by Hasan Al Banna. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research is short story entitled “Rabiah” by Hasan Al Banna. The data of this research are words, phrases, or sentences that contain information about the image of women in the short story entitled “Rabiah” by Hasan Al Banna. The data were collected by reading and note-taking techniques. The data obtained from this study were analysed using content analysis. Based on the analysis result, it was found that a woman in the short story entitled “Rabiah” by Hasan Al Banna described as a brave, intelligent, and kind woman. A brave woman was described through the figure of Rabiah who has bravery to work in the overseas without her family. An intelligent woman was described through the figure of Rabiah who showed her ability to think perfectly. A kind woman was described through the figure of Rabiah who respected her parents by listening their advice.

Abstract

Educational facilities and infrastructure at schools or at madrasas are one of several important resources in the progress of an institution. Facilities and infrastructure are very important in education so that learning can run well and appropriately. In order for education in schools or madrasas to run effectively, complete and well-organized educational facilities can be utilized to the fullest extent possible to support a quality teaching and learning process. With well-maintained and well-maintained educational facilities and infrastructure, they will be able to function and be used as they should. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, documentation. This study aims to examine, identify and explain school facilities and infrastructure through several functions, namely planning facilities and infrastructure, procuring school facilities and infrastructure, maintaining school facilities and infrastructure, maintaining school facilities and infrastructure. The results of this study indicate that the facilities and infrastructure in schools have met the standards, the use of infrastructure facilities in the learning process must still be improved, as a continuous improvement in service quality to meet the realities and expectations of customers

Abstract

Language is the medium used for writing literary works, while literature is a social institution that illustrates language in social life. Based on its type, literary works are divided into 3, namely poetry, prose and drama. Film is included in the type of drama literary works that are conveyed visually. In the film there are building elements that make the film meaningful and contain a moral message. The moral message in film is very important, because moral values ​​can be used as an understanding in society. A very important moral value is honesty. In this research, the researcher discusses the literary work of a film entitled Copying Light. The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the forms of moral honesty values ​​contained in the film Copying Light. The approach used in this research is qualitative research. The data collection technique in this study was to download the Netflix application, create a Netflix account, search for Light Copy films, watch films and make transcripts of the data results. The data obtained were then analyzed using data presentation and data verification techniques. To test the validity of the data, the researcher used theoretical triangulation, namely comparing the theory carried out with a number of theories so that it could deceive some data. The results of the study show that honest moral values ​​are moral attitudes that are forthright, able to be oneself, and honest according to the facts.

Abstract

The application of approaches in foreign language learning has become related to the learning process in recent years. Genre-based approach is an approach in language learning that focuses on the understanding and production of texts based on genres and is commonly used for learning writing skills. This study aims to describe the results of thematic literature review on the effect of Genre-based approach on the development of learners' writing performance, the challenges faced by teachers and learners in the implementation of Genre-based approach, and learners' perspectives on genre-based approach for foreign language writing skills. This research uses a thematic literature review method by reviewing scientific research articles related to the topic discussed. The articles were selected through Google Scholar and Researchgate channels in the last 5 years since this research was conducted with 30 articles that met the set criteria. The results of this study found that the Genre Based approach to foreign language writing skills has a positive influence in improving writing performance and motivating writing for learners. However, in its implementation, there are challenges in that it takes a lot of time, teachers are less adaptable so that in some cases the results achieved don’t show significant changes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the various kinds of deixis contained in conversations on the Official Inews Youtube channel with the title "Nadiem Makarim Special Prize for Nono the Mathematical Genius". The conversation contains a discussion about Nono who won an international math competition. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The object of the research is the conversation between Prabu, Nono, Minister of Education Nadiem Makarim, Mama Nur, and Ibu Aguslina. The research techniques used are observation techniques, listening techniques, and note-taking or writing techniques. Based on the analysis results, five deixis were found. First, there are 114 personal deixis in the form of the words I, we, we, you, he, his, and they. Second, there are 13 place deixis in the form of the words there, here, that, and this. Third, there are 12 time deixis in the form of the words yesterday, earlier, then, and later. Fourth, the social deixis of 90 older siblings, mas, sir, mama, madam, madam, madam, prof, uncle, and ministers. Fifth, there are 110 discourse deixis in the form of the word this, that, like this, that way, and like that.

Abstract

The Korowai tribe is a group of indigenous people who live in remote areas in the province of Papua, Indonesia. The Korowai tribe is known for their wooden houses built in trees to protect themselves from floods and wild animals. The traditions and culture of the Korowai tribe are very unique and unique, such as traditional dances, woodcarving and belief in ancestral spirits. However, modernization and epidemics that are increasingly affecting the region significantly change the life of the Korowai tribe. External influences have changed the lifestyle, diet, and use of technology for the Korowai people. However, they try to maintain their original identity and culture. This study discusses the social and cultural changes of the Korowai tribe in the context of modernization and globalization. The results of the study show that the effects of modernization and globalization affect the daily life of the Korowai tribe with complex changes. Factors influencing these changes are access to the outside world, changes in mindset, foreign cultural influences and infrastructure development. Although these changes had positive impacts such as improving the quality of life, they also had negative impacts in maintaining the original culture and traditions of the Korowai tribe. Therefore efforts to restore the original Korowai culture and traditions are very important through programs that support and develop local culture as well as education about the importance of cultural care. This study recommends further research to understand the impact of changes in social culture on the Korowai tribe and how they respond to these changes.

Abstract

This research method is a type of classroom action research conducted in two cycles. This research place will be carried out at SD Negeri 11 Pudung carried out in class VI totaling 28 students, namely 13 male students and 15 female students.Cycle I consists of 2 meetings and cycle 2 consist of 1 meeting with the results obtained showing an increase in learning motivation and learning outcomes of grade VI students of SD 11 Pudung Researchers concluded that learning activities delivered using Powerpoint Media can increase motivation and learning outcomes. In the initial condition, the average student learning motivation of 52 is included in the low category. In cycle I, the average learning motivation became 74 in the medium category, then there was an increase in cycle II to 89 in the high category. This indicates an increase in student motivation after being given action using PowerPoint media. The average learning outcome in the initial condition was 65.32 and increased in cycle I to 78.45 and cycle II to 84.18. The percentage of learning completeness in the initial condition was 53.58% and increased in cycle I to 78.58% and cycle II to 92.58%.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the educational values in the novel entitled "Tembang Lara" by Pipiet Senja. Researchers hope that this research can be a source of teaching materials in learning moral values, namely love of God and all His creation, independence and responsibility, honesty / trust, respect and courtesy, benefactor, please help, and mutual assistance / cooperation, confident and hardworking, leadership and justice, humility, and tolerance, peace, and unity So that students can apply it to everyday life. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The main source of data from this research is the content of the novel entitled "Tembang Lara" by Pipiet Senja. Data processing techniques use analytical descriptives, namely analyzing the data under study and then presenting the data that has been obtained by steps to collect data sources, read the novel "Tembang Lara" carefully, analyze the moral values in the novel, describe the moral values in the novel, and make conclusions about the moral values in the novel. In the novel "Tembang Lara" by Pipiet Senja found seven moral values, namely: 1) Love of God and all His creation, 2) Independence and Responsibility, 3) Honesty / trust, 4) Respect and Courtesy, 5) Help, and Mutual Cooperation / Cooperation, 6) Confident and Hardworking, 7) Leadership and Justice.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the connotative meaning of the lyrics of the song “Sampai Jadi Debu” by Ananda Badudu. The research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this study is the meaning contained in a song. Data collection techniques were carried out by reading, observing, and taking notes. The instrument used is documentation. The results of the study show that the lyrics of the song “Sampai Jadi Debu” by Ananda Badudu contain connotative meanings related to eternal and eternal love. Through the use of strong and symbolic words and phrases, the verses of the song depict a very strong promise of loyalty and trust in a relationship.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the semiotics of Ferdinand De Saussure in the novel Garis Waktu by Fiersa Besari. The writer needs to study the semiotics in the novel Garis Waktu from the perspective of Ferdinand De Saussure to enrich the literary appreciation of this novel, especially since no other researcher has analyzed this part. Even though this novel is very well known among the public. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research, which aims to collect information about the current state of a phenomenon. The data in this study were sourced from the novel Garis Waktu by Fiersa Besari. The writer analyzes the semiotics of Ferdinand De Saussure in the novel Garis Waktu by Fiersa Besari. Data in the research context can be in the form of words, sentences or real situations and conditions related to the research being conducted. The data used in this study are phrases, sentences containing signifiers and signifieds in this novel. The results of this study indicate that there are sentences containing signifiers and signifieds in the novel Garis Waktu by Fiersa Besari.
