Abstract

Due to the global health crisis, many people lost their jobs or had to accept lower compensation. To mitigate the economic constraints caused by the pandemic, people pursued entrepreneurship to help meet their basic needs. However, to become successful in the field of entrepreneurship, one must possess a high level of entrepreneurial attitude and intention. Although a considerable study had been conducted to assess the level of entrepreneurial attitude and intention, its Senior High School (SHS) level implementation had only received far less attention. Likewise, a dearth of literature assesses the level of entrepreneurial attitude and intention among Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) SHS learners. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the level of entrepreneurial attitude and intentions of the Grade 12 ABM SHS learners. The study utilized a descriptive correlational research design. A total of 58 ABM SHS learners from NDMU-IBED, Philippines, were purposively chosen as the respondents of the study. Results revealed that the learners have a high entrepreneurial attitude and intention. Further, Spearman's correlation revealed that there was a statistically significant moderate positive correlation (p<0.05) between the two variables. These indicate that learners have a high attitude toward becoming an entrepreneur and desire to put up or start their businesses. More so, ABM SHS learners' entrepreneurial attitude can be used as a predictor of their entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract

This study discusses the understanding and dissemination of legal awareness in society, especially criminal law in social life. The author believes that early prevention efforts to minimize unlawful acts are indispensable in every context of legal socialization events. By socializing the law, all citizens aim to create a just and prosperous, safe and prosperous society free from crime, security disturbances, and anarchy. The better the socialization of criminal law, the easier it will be for the community to be invited to achieve independence in order to increase legal awareness. This socialization is the responsibility of all parties, especially the academic community and state apparatus, to guide citizens, especially indigenous peoples in remote parts of the country, to produce peaceful, capable, disciplined, responsible, and courageous citizens who are honest in life. This study also hopes that narrative narratives and academic thoughts on criminal law in indigenous peoples become ceremonial events. Law must be a life-giving culture, especially for indigenous peoples, to be a good example for other communities. Condor has been studied in several legal publications and other sources we have reviewed to answer the most valid research questions. This is also to ensure the data review process runs smoothly and responsibly.

The study utilized mixed methods research design, specifically a sequential-explanatory. Documentary records were utilized in the conduct of the study. A questionnaire was administered to 931 students from Grades 7- 10 students of a state university in Bacolor, Pampanga, Philippines. After which, a focused group discussion through virtual meeting was conducted to the 22 student-leaders. It was found out that despite of the various lockdowns and continuous threat of the COVID-19, online education modality had allowed education be served to the learners. With various practices on how to adapt with the “new normal”, learners were able to be deal with the online set-up. Challenges are still present and remain to be unavoidable but continuous interventions are being done to assure that quality, equitable, and accessible high school education is served. However, it is suggested to further improve the conduct of the online classes; concepts that were of challenge to the students should be address in the reopening of schools; intervention for the students’ social aspects should be taken into consideration; and continuous support must be given to the learners as well as to the teachers.

Abstract

Many people consider teaching a noble profession. Teachers enter the education profession and are attracted to teaching as a career because of what they view as the role of the teacher. Also, teachers find their professions very rewarding. However, educators, specifically those who are new in the profession, encounter challenges too. This study seeks to understand the lived experiences of young college teachers handling English as a Second Language (ESL) courses in an open admission academe. In this study, a qualitative-phenomenological inquiry is employed. Seven young faculty members aged 20-25 years old with less than five years of teaching experience share their rewarding experiences, challenges, and hopes with ESL education in open admission academe. Triangulation is used in this study through three data-gathering and verification modes: in-depth interview, focus group discussion, and checklist. The experiences of the participants show that they have love for the profession, that they see teaching as a rewarding profession, and that disconnect still exists between teaching and their prior training. The participants also shared their stories on student learning and their experiences with the preparation programs and some practical elements in teaching. Participants also expressed that they too experience burdensome workload, stress, and burnout. It has been concluded that these faculty participants view their teaching career as fulfilling, challenging, and life-changing.

Abstract

This study assessed the level of organizational commitment in terms of affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment as well as the job satisfaction of employees of Sorsogon State College Bulan Campus (SSC-BC) to test if there is significant relationship among these variables. Descriptive correlational method of research was used. For this purpose, survey questionnaires were used to facilitate the survey. Out of the total 49 workforce, only 40 employees of SSC-BC were considered as the respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Weighted mean was used for the purpose of summarizing, interpreting and identifying the trends and patterns of the data gathered from the survey. Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation was employed to establish the relationship between the organizational commitment of the respondents and their job satisfaction while linear regression was utilized to determine the magnitude of the relationship of the organizational commitment dimensions and the job satisfaction of the employees. Results of the survey revealed that employees of Sorsogon State College Bulan Campus were highly committed to their institution which emanates from the level of their affective and normative commitment and less from their continuance commitment. It was concluded that that faculty members and non-teaching personnel of the College have high level of job satisfaction which appeared to derive from the kind of relationship they have with their co-workers and supervisors, from College and from the work itself. Finally, the extent of employees’ affective, continuance and normative commitment have a significant and positive relationship to the level of their job satisfaction and that the level of normative commitment was found to be a predictor of level of job satisfaction of SSC-BC employees.
