Abstract

Introduction; Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health issue both in Indonesia and globally, caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Knowledge and the role of the family are crucial factors influencing an individual's adherence to medication. Understanding these factors is essential for designing effective interventions to improve treatment compliance among TB patients. Objectives; The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the role of the family with medication adherence in TB patients within the working area of the Ciruas Health Center, Serang Regency, in 2024. Methods; This study employed a quantitative correlational design using a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 210 TB patients undergoing treatment at the Ciruas Community Health Center in 2023. Purposive sampling was used to select participants. Data collection utilized validated questionnaires on knowledge, family roles, and medication adherence. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of <0.05. Results; The Chi-Square test revealed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and medication adherence among TB patients (p=0.000). Additionally, a significant relationship was found between the role of the family and medication adherence (p=0.000). The analysis categorized the patients' level of knowledge as moderate, family roles as poor, and medication adherence as moderate. Conclusions; The study highlights that both knowledge and family support play a vital role in influencing medication adherence among TB patients. These findings emphasize the need for educational interventions and family-centered strategies to enhance compliance with TB treatment regimens. Implementing these measures could contribute to better treatment outcomes and a reduction in TB incidence

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge about hypertension and adherence to taking medication in the elderly at Puskesmas Nanggeleng, Sukabumi City. This analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design involved 74 elderly people diagnosed with hypertension. Data were collected using a questionnaire that included demographic information, knowledge about hypertension, and medication adherence based on MMAS-8. Analysis was conducted using chi-square test with significant results (p-value 0.002 <0.05), indicating a positive relationship between hypertension knowledge and medication adherence. The majority of respondents (93.2%) had a good level of knowledge, while 86.5% showed high compliance in taking medication. Educational factors, especially the high school level of the majority of respondents (40.5%), play a significant role in improving knowledge and compliance. Family support is also an important factor in ensuring medication adherence. The results of this study emphasize the importance of health education to increase elderly knowledge about hypertension, so as to encourage adherence to treatment. The role of nurses as health educators is crucial in this process. This study makes an important contribution in identifying factors that influence the successful management of hypertension in the elderly, and suggests improving educational programs that involve families to encourage treatment adherence.

Abstract

Classes for pregnant women are an effort to detect high-risk pregnantwomen that began to be socialized since 2010 in Indonesia, Puskesmas Ciruas has a class for high-risk pregnant women called Tantri (Temukan Analisa Tatalaksana Ibu Hamil dan Nifas Resiko tinggi). This study aims to determine the factors of women's empowerment in the participation of Tantri classes for high-risk pregnant women in the Ciruas Health Center Working Area in 2024. The method used in this research is Mixed Methods. The number of samples in this study were 79 respondents using total sampling. Data analysis using Chi Square test and concurrent triangulation. The results showed 43 respondents (54.4%) had poor participation in Tantri class, there was a relationship between knowledge (Pv=0.013; OR 7.4), occupation (Pv=0.000; OR 11.4), and social support (Pv=0.002; OR 5.8), with Tantri class participation. The data was supported by qualitative research through in-depth interviews with 5 informants. There is no relationship between well-being of pregnant women with Tantri class participation (α> 0.05) the results of the interview revealed that well-being makes it easier for pregnant women to understand reality by emphasizing self-confidence so that mothers always participate in Tantri class. It is recommended for the practice site to make a policy for high-risk pregnant women so that husbands participate in Tantri class at least once during the Tantri class and create an online forum for high-risk pregnant women who work.

Abstract

The use of electronic devices among children is increasing. Gadgets are considered safe and easy to supervise by many parents. They often do not consider the negative effects on the development of children's social and emotional interactions. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social interaction and emotional development with the amount of gadget use in preschool children (aged 4-6 years). This type of research is quantitative correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The number of respondents was 68 people with a proportional stratified random sampling method. The research instruments included the SDQ questionnaire, the gadget use intensity questionnaire, and the social interaction questionnaire. The results of this study showed that 43 children (63.2%) used electronic devices in the high category. Hypothesis testing using Spearman Rank produced a p value of 0.000 (less than 0.05) which indicated a relationship between gadget use in preschool children with social emotional development with a correlation between gadget use and social contact of 0.639, emotional development with difficulty of 0.455, and emotional development with strength of 0.418. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the use of gadgets in preschool children and social emotional development and parents need to be more selective in choosing the toys given to children and monitor and limit the provision of excessive toys.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020, has spread globally, and adherence to health protocols is considered a crucial step in reducing virus transmission and associated anxiety. This study aims to analyze the relationship between pregnant women's understanding of Covid-19 preventive measures and their anxiety levels during the pandemic at Paron Health Center, Ngawi Regency. This research employed a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 94 pregnant women at Paron Health Center, with a sample of 76 respondents selected through Simple Random Sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and statistical analysis was performed using Somer's D test (? = 0.05). The results indicate that the majority of pregnant women have a good understanding of Covid-19 preventive measures (90.8%), and most experience mild anxiety (52.6%). Statistical analysis revealed a ?-value of 0.560, which is greater than ? = 0.05, indicating no significant relationship between the understanding of preventive measures and anxiety levels among pregnant women during the pandemic. In conclusion, while the understanding of Covid-19 prevention is good, pregnant women's anxiety is more influenced by concerns related to pregnancy, such as fetal health and pregnancy complications, rather than by knowledge of Covid-19 health protocols.
