Abstract

This research evaluates the expressive speech acts employed by Engene in their comments on Enhypen’s Weverse platform posts, focusing on the role of these speech acts in fan-idol interactions. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a pragmatic perspective, the study examines selected textual comments from Engene, classifying and identifying the speech acts embedded in their words and expressions. The analysis centers on how these speech acts function within social interactions, particularly in fostering emotional connections between fans and idols. The study identifies five main types of expressive speech acts present in Engene’s comments: admiration, encouragement, gratitude, celebration, and expressions of sadness or regret. Among these, admiration is the most prevalent, reflecting the deep emotional bond fans establish with Enhypen. Encouragement serves as a means for fans to motivate and support their idols, while gratitude expresses appreciation for Enhypen’s efforts and impact. Celebration often appears in response to achievements or significant moments, reinforcing the shared joy between fans and idols. Conversely, expressions of sadness or regret emerge when fans resonate with emotional or difficult experiences shared by Enhypen. By analyzing these speech acts, the study highlights how fan discourse on Weverse extends beyond simple interactions, shaping the dynamics of parasocial relationships and reinforcing the idol-fan connection. This research underscores the significance of language in digital fan communities, demonstrating how expressive speech acts create a sense of closeness, emotional investment, and mutual engagement between Engene and Enhypen within the Weverse platform.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) identify students' needs for classical guidance services based on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in improving intrapersonal learning, (2) design the development of classical guidance services based on SEL, (3) test the effectiveness of these services in improving students' intrapersonal learning aspects at MAN 1 Tegal City. This study uses a research and development method with the ADDIE model from Dick and Carey. Data collection techniques include questionnaires, observations, validation sheets, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The study population consisted of 482 class XI students of MAN 1 Tegal City, which were divided into control classes and experimental classes. Data analysis was carried out through normality tests, validity, reliability, t-tests, and media feasibility and effectiveness tests. The results of the study indicate that the classical guidance service module based on SEL has a significant effect on improving students' intrapersonal skills. Analysis of teacher and student needs includes media selection, format, compilation of questions and answers, and design of media applications. Validation from three experts showed that the material aspect scored 90.62%, while the media aspect reached 93.75%. The effectiveness of the module was proven by the increase in student learning outcomes, where the pre-test score of the experimental class increased from 13.89% to 83.34% in the post-test. These results confirm that the SEL-based classical guidance service module has a positive impact on students' intrapersonal skills in learning.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of intelligence on learning achievement in Mathematics, Science, and English based on students’ learning styles. Using a quantitative approach, the research ensures statistical significance and minimizes researcher subjectivity while analyzing a large sample. The findings reveal that intelligence significantly influences academic performance across subjects, with varying contributions depending on learning styles. Visual learners show the highest intelligence-based contribution to Mathematics achievement (9.10%), followed by Science (8.20%) and English (5.10%). Auditory learners demonstrate a high contribution to Mathematics (7.40%), English (4.30%), and Science (4.10%). In contrast, kinesthetic learners exhibit the lowest contribution, with 0.70% for Mathematics, 0.50% for Science, and 0.30% for English. These results indicate that learning styles moderate the relationship between intelligence and academic success, with visual learners benefiting the most, particularly in Mathematics and Science, which require abstract understanding. The lower intelligence contribution for kinesthetic learners suggests that interactive, practice-based teaching methods are necessary to enhance their learning outcomes. The study underscores the importance of aligning instructional strategies with students’ learning styles to optimize academic achievement. A visual-based approach proves more effective in subjects requiring conceptual understanding, while kinesthetic learners may need more hands-on, experiential learning methods to improve their performance.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in language learning has the potential to enhance student engagement and improve educational outcomes. However, research on its effectiveness in elementary English education remains limited. This study examines the impact of AI-assisted Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students’ English proficiency, engagement, and motivation at SD IT Imam Syafii Cendikia Pekanbaru. A quasi-experimental design was employed, with an experimental group receiving AI-powered PBL instruction and a control group following traditional methods. Pre-test and post-test assessments, engagement observations, and motivation surveys were used for data collection. The findings reveal that the experimental group showed a 31.1% improvement in English proficiency, significantly higher than the control group’s 15.9%. Additionally, AI-assisted PBL fostered greater student engagement and motivation. These results suggest that AI-enhanced PBL is an effective instructional approach for improving elementary students’ English learning outcomes.

Technological developments with the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0 have brought many changes to the world of education. Global demands require the world of education to always and always adapt technological developments to efforts to improve the quality of education, especially adapting its use to the world of education, especially in the learning process. Digital technology is useful for changing behavior in searching, collecting, documenting, processing and retransferring teaching materials according to needs. One of the teaching materials as a learning tool for students is a teaching module, which contains all systematic learning implementation plans starting from objectives, activities and assessments. Technology-based teaching modules or E-Modules aim to combine the use of information technology so that the modules can be more interesting and interactive. The Merdeka Curriculum does not only focus on the use of technology but also the implementation of local wisdom in the learning process. So that it can elevate regional diversity into a local advantage. The research will be conducted in May-October 2024 in the Community Education Study Program in learning media courses. This research is RD (Research and Development) research with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) development model. The development of this E-Module uses a REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applaying, Cooperating, Transferring) based approach strategy, with the local wisdom of Riau Malay culture. The data collection instruments used were questionnaires and observation sheets. The data analysis technique that will be used is adjusted to the type of data collected, then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively.
