Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work discipline, work loyalty, and work motivation on the performance of Regional Tax I employees at the Batam City Regional Revenue Agency Office. The study used a quantitative, census-based approach, with the entire population of 81 employees serving as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The test results showed that all statement items were valid (r > 0.218, p < 0.05) and reliable (Cronbach's Alpha > 0.60). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results of the study indicate that partial work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; work loyalty also has a positive and significant effect, and work motivation has a positive and significant effect, with the latter being the most dominant contributor. Simultaneously, work discipline, work loyalty, and work motivation have a significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination of 0.719 indicates that 71.9% of the variation in employee performance is explained by the three independent variables, with the remaining 28.1% attributed to other factors outside the study. This finding emphasizes the importance of integrated human resource management in improving the performance of public sector employees.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of socialization, taxpayer compliance, and tax collection on Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) revenue in Regional Tax Sector I of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Batam City. The study used a descriptive, quantitative approach with a population of 323,830 PBB-P2 taxpayers and a sample of 100 respondents selected via simple random sampling. The instrument, in the form of a questionnaire, has been tested for validity and reliability, with all items demonstrating both. The results of the t-test show that socialization has a significant effect on PBB-P2 revenue (t count = 5.034; sig. = 0.000), taxpayer compliance has a considerable impact (t count = 8.191; sig. = 0.000), and tax collection also has a considerable effect (t count = 7.944; sig. = 0.000). Multiple linear regression analysis yields the equation Y = 5.163 + 0.090X₁ + 0.379X₂ + 0.981X₃, with a determination coefficient (R²) of 0.530, indicating that these three variables explain 53% of the variation in PBB-P2 revenue. The simultaneous F test shows a significant influence of the three independent variables on PBB-P2 revenue (F count = 98.537 > F table = 2.93; sig. = 0.000). This study emphasizes the importance of integrating socialization, compliance, and collection in increasing PBB-P2 revenue in Batam City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work discipline, Competence, and employee empowerment on employee performance at the Directorate of Goods Traffic of the Batam Business Agency (BP). The study used a descriptive, quantitative approach with a census method, given the relatively small population of 35 employees; thus, the entire population served as respondents. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the validity test showed that all statement items had a calculated r value greater than the r value in the table and a significance level below 0.05. In contrast, the reliability test yielded a Cronbach's Alpha value above 0.60 for all research variables, indicating that the instrument was suitable for use. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression in IBM SPSS. Partial testing results indicate that work discipline, Competence, and employee empowerment each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneous testing also shows that the three independent variables together have a substantial effect on employee performance. The high coefficient of determination value indicates that most of the variation in employee performance can be explained by the variables of work discipline, Competence, and employee empowerment. Thus, improving employee performance can be achieved through strengthening work discipline, developing Competence, and sustainable employee empowerment.

Abstract

Despite Indonesia securing the top rank in the 2024 Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI), the national halal tourism sector continues to face substantial challenges, including low halal certification penetration, limited prayer infrastructure, and information asymmetry. This study aims to analyze the influence of halal awareness, halal certification, and halal knowledge on visit intention, with halal attitude as a mediating variable. Adopting a quantitative approach through hypothesis testing, data were collected from 290 respondents across 11 provinces in Indonesia, representing a heterogeneous religious background (37.2% Muslim and 62.8% Non-Muslim). Data analysis was conducted to map causal relationships among variables and identify factors contributing to the intention-behavior gap in the tourism context. The results indicate that halal certification and halal knowledge have a positive and significant impact on halal attitude. However, halal awareness was found to have no significant effect, a result likely attributed to the diverse religious backgrounds of the respondents, which influenced cognitive perceptions of halal attributes. A crucial finding of this study reveals that halal attitude fails to mediate the relationship between the independent variables and visit intention. This phenomenon confirms the existence of an "attitude-behavior gap," where a positive attitude toward halal concepts does not automatically translate into tangible visit intentions. Future researchers are encouraged to integrate variables such as trust, religiosity, destination image, service quality, and halal-friendly facilities as mediators or moderators to strengthen competitiveness and the accuracy of tourist behavior models within Indonesia's halal tourism ecosystem
