Abstract

Purpose – This study investigates the role of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model on the intention to use mediated by the Government Information System. In the context of this study, the implementation of government information systems through the application of local government information systems (SIPD) in Regional Governments in Indonesia. Methodology/approach –The population in this study includes: Primary High Leadership Officials, Administrator Officers, Supervisory Officers, and SIPD Management ASNs in the Ministry of Home Affairs and local governments with a total sample of 358 respondents. This study uses a form of sampling in the form of purposive sampling and probability sampling, with the sampling technique used in the form of simple random. When viewed from the relationship between variables, this study is included in associative research. The data processing and analysis techniques used in this study were carried out through Descriptive Statistical Tests and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Findings – Based on the results of the study, it is known that Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Condition, either directly or indirectly through the Government Information System as the variable that mediates it, have had an influence on the Intention To use SIPD application. Novelty/value – The novelty of this study fills the research gap by involving the role of the government information system (SIPD) as a mediating factor between performance expectations, effort expectations, social influences, and conditions that facilitate intention to use which is limited only to age and experience as control variables. Thus, a more comprehensive picture of the results of how the influence of factors in UTAUT is mediated by the role of SIPD, and see the extent to which the implications of implementing SIPD in local government can affect the intention to use by civil servants in Indonesia and as recommendations for related parties in developing government information systems.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether investors experience  a break-even  effect. The research  method used in this study was the Leal et al. (2017) method to find the break-even  effect. The results show a break-even  effect  in several  years,  2012  and  2015.  This means  that  only in those  two  years  did individual  investors  experience   a  break-even   effect  as  indicated  by  the  Proportion   of  Winners Additionally Purchased (PWAP), which was more significant than the Proportion of Losers Additionally Purchased (PLAP). The limitation of the research  is that there  are still several other methods that can be developed to find the break-even  effect. Bullish and bearish market  conditions are also expected to influence investors' decisions. The research implication for securities companies and capital market authorities is that  it is necessary  to support  individual customers through  education to avoid these two effects. Investors need to be aware of the break-even  effect. Research on individual investors is still minimal. In addition, it uses a sample of secondary  data from individual investor transactions to find the relatively new break-even  effect on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Abstract

The problems contained in this study are cases of fraud or fraud that still occur in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Corporate governance is considered as a solution to improve internal control so that it can reduce the number of fraud in the company. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of corporate governance, the motivation that arises through the fraud triangle theory, income smoothing, and company characteristics against fraud in companies engaged in the manufacturing sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research methodology used in this study is purposive sampling which produces 33 samples of companies for 5 years of research in the 2017-2021 period. The research model uses a panel of regression data that is processed using E-Views. The findings and contributions of this study are that corporate governance has a significant negative effect on fraud, income smoothing has a significant positive effect on fraud and company age has a significant negative effect on fraud. Meanwhile, the motivation to commit fraud described by the fraud triangle theory and firm size has no significant effect on fraud. The implications of this study are useful for management to determine areas that affect strengthening corporate governance in companies, reduce management aggressiveness in income smoothing actions and find out whether the level of debt ratios and changes in external auditors can increase motivation to commit fraud.
