Abstract

This study investigates the role of social media in empowering female students enrolled in an online university in Afghanistan. Despite ongoing socio-cultural restrictions that limit Afghan women’s access to education, employment, and public engagement, digital platforms present new avenues for empowerment. Using a quantitative survey design, data were collected from 110 female students aged 20–25 across three academic programs: Computer Science, Economics, and Medical Sciences. A structured questionnaire measured four empowerment dimensions—educational, economic, social, and digital—using a 5-point Likert scale. The results reveal strong educational empowerment, with respondents indicating that social media enhances access to academic resources, collaboration, and motivation for further studies. Social participation also showed significant improvement, as students reported increased confidence in communication and engagement with online communities. Digital literacy and self-efficacy were notably high, reflecting the positive impact of regular digital platform use. However, economic empowerment scored moderately, suggesting that although social media provides exposure to entrepreneurial opportunities, broader structural barriers still limit financial independence. Overall, the findings demonstrate that social media is a transformative tool for promoting women’s empowerment in Afghanistan. The study recommends enhancing digital literacy programs and expanding online economic opportunities to maximize empowerment outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of budget target clarity and accounting controls on government agency performance accountability, with the reporting system as a mediating variable, particularly in the Serang City Government. The purpose of this study is to identify the direct and indirect influences of these variables on government agency performance accountability, with the reporting system serving as a mediating variable. The method used is Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with a quantitative approach, involving 76 respondents from various OPDs in the Serang City Government. The results of the study indicate that budget target clarity has a positive and significant influence on the reporting system (β = 0.646; t = 6.811; p = 0.000), and affects government agency performance accountability (β = 0.236; t = 2.476; p = 0.014). Accounting control has a significant positive effect on the reporting system (β=0.323; t=3.309; p=0.001), and affects the accountability of government agency performance (β=0.135; t=2.189; p=0.029). The reporting system itself has a positive and significant effect on government agency performance accountability (β = 0.634; t = 5.817; p = 0.000). In addition, clarity of budget targets and accounting controls has a significant effect on government agency performance accountability through the reporting system, with coefficient values β = 0.410 (t = 4.042; p = 0.008) and β = 0.205 (t = 3.340; p = 0.001). This study provides important insights for improving accountability for government agency performance in the Serang City Government by emphasizing the importance of clarity in budget targets and adequate accounting controls. Thus, efforts to improve these two aspects, supported by a reliable reporting system, can significantly improve the quality of accountability and transparency of government agency performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze financial management efforts in traditional businesses in Serang City, Banten, which are influenced by local cultural values. The study employed a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo 12. This study aims to identify themes, patterns, and interrelationships between financial literacy, financial management practices, and the influence of local culture on financial decision-making. The results show that business owners' financial literacy varies, but all implement simple cash recording as an adaptive mechanism. Informal financial management practices, such as simple budget planning and monthly evaluations, are consistent and effective. Local cultural values, including cooperation, deliberation, and mutual trust, facilitate capital collaboration, shared decision-making, and social accountability. Simple financial control strategies, combined with local cultural values , enhance transparency, prevent conflict, and support business sustainability. This study confirms that traditional business financial management need not be complex; a combination of financial literacy, simple practices, and local cultural wisdom is sufficient to maintain business efficiency and financial stability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Service Quality, Product Variety, Price, Consumer Trust, and Convenience on consumer purchasing decisions. This study uses a quantitative approach and a purposively selected sample of 94 respondents. The analysis techniques used are simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, classical assumption tests, coefficient of determination tests, t-tests, and F-tests, using SPSS version 26. The results of the classical assumption tests indicate that the research data are typically distributed, free of multicollinearity, and free of heteroscedasticity. Simple regression analysis shows that Service Quality and Product Variety have a positive, significant effect on purchasing decisions. The results of multiple linear regression indicate that simultaneously all five independent variables have a positive impact on purchasing decisions with an Adjusted R² of 0.442. The t-test shows that Service Quality, Product Variety, and Price have significant effects individually, while Consumer Trust and Convenience have positive but insignificant impacts. The simultaneous F-test confirms the considerable influence of all independent variables on purchasing decisions. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of managing service quality, product variety, Price, and consumer trust as a strategy to encourage consumer purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze human resource (HR) management strategies and teacher performance in improving learning effectiveness at MAN 2 Pandeglang. The study used a qualitative case study approach, involving the principal, the vice principal of curriculum, teachers, and education staff as informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using NVivo with open, axial, and selective coding techniques. The results showed that HR management strategies in the madrasah have been implemented in a structured manner, including teaching load planning, teacher professional development, academic supervision, and appreciation. However, these strategies have not been based on an in-depth analysis of learning needs, so their contribution to learning quality remains partial. Teacher performance meets administrative standards, but learning implementation remains limited to lecture-based methods, and evaluations are more focused on cognitive aspects. Learning effectiveness is in the sufficient category, with a conducive classroom climate, but student engagement and method variety need improvement. This study confirms that integrating HR management strategies and teacher performance development is key to creating more effective, adaptive, and innovative learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of State Asset Management (BMN) at the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of South Sulawesi Province through the utilization of two key digital systems: the Institutional Level Financial Application System (SAKTI) and the State Asset Management Information System (SIMAN). Both systems serve as integrated tools that support accurate, efficient, and accountable recording, administration, monitoring, and reporting of government-owned assets. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with asset management personnel at BPS South Sulawesi and with supervisory institutions, namely DJKN and KPKNL. Data analysis was carried out through categorization, data reduction, and visualization using the R libraries wordclouds and ggplot. The findings reveal that implementing SAKTI and SIMAN has significantly improved transparency, data accuracy, and process efficiency in BMN management. However, several challenges persist, including limitations in human resource competencies, data inconsistencies across systems, delays in updating asset information, and technical constraints on system access and connectivity. Strengthening system integration, enhancing staff capacity, improving inter-unit coordination, and upgrading technological infrastructure are essential further to improve the effectiveness and accountability of state asset management.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of Job Competence, Workload, and Reward System on Employee Performance in the Economic Division of the Regional Secretariat in Batam City. The context of this study stems from the phenomenon of suboptimal employee performance, characterised by delays in completing macroeconomic reports and work results that do not meet organisational goals. The main factors suspected of influencing this condition are employee competencies that do not fully match job demands, disproportionate distribution of workloads, and an ineffective and unfair reward system. This study uses a quantitative, associative research design. The study population consisted of 35 employees, all sampled using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analysed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 25. The results of the study indicate that Job Competence, Workload, and Reward System have a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, both partially and simultaneously. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.742 indicates that these three variables explain 74.2% of the variation in Employee Performance, while factors outside the research model explain the remaining 25.8%. This finding underscores the importance of enhancing competency, managing a balanced workload, and implementing a fair and transparent reward system to boost employee performance.
