Abstract

Reading is a window to see the world with all its progress and development. Reading is also able to change one's way of thinking and perspective on something. Panggungrejo sub-district is a coastal area in the city of Pasuruan with the majority of the population only having education up to junior high school. According to the people's view, if someone is able to catch fish in the sea, then he is ready to get married. So to get a higher education is no longer necessary. Through the activities of the real work lecture program, Merdeka Pasuruan University students try to provide a forum for the community for reading activities namely a reading garden. Students take advantage of the semi-permanent building where the children and their mothers wait for their fathers who are fishing. With this literacy improvement activity it is hoped that both children and housewives will be able to increase their interest in reading and broaden their knowledge in their spare time. With the opening of the horizons of thinking, the desire to get a higher education is expected to be the main choice of the community to improve the quality of life

Abstract

Sukalaba is a village located in a mountainous area in the Gunungsari District, Serang, Banten. There are micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that produce melinjo chips as the source of income of these entrepreneurs. One of the problems faced by these entrepreneurs is dividing the market share only at one distribution point, hence they only produce the chips on certain days, depending on the orders. Based on the problem mentioned, the authors conclude that the sales were stagnant and there were no significant changes, therefore the ways to increase sales are by increasing product variants and packaging, and utilizing technology in the form of an e-commerce marketplace, so that it has an even higher selling price. Through the utilization of an e-commerce marketplace as an initial step towards changes and developments, melinjo chip business can grow tremendously

Abstract

Gipang is a typical Banten food, one of which is made by residents of Banyuwangi Village, Pulo Ampel District, Serang and Gipang Regencies. Digital technology is currently developing Gipang Rice and Cassava production based on orders. MSMEs are the backbone of the national economy. This sector is able to drive the community's economy and absorb a large number of workers. Unfortunately, the packaging for Gipang Rice and cassava products in Banyuwangi Village still uses non-standard jars and plastic, therefore packaging modernization is the solution. Standard packaging modernization can make gipang products durable and not easily destroyed and can attract the attention of buyers so that they can increase the marketing of Gipang Rice and Cassava products. By improving MSME packaging it is proven to be able to increase marketing, the market segment is increasing, and marketing turnover is increasing so that MSME can be upgraded

Abstract

Currently, plastic waste pollution has become a prominent global issue, as well as in Indonesia, where the situation is increasingly concerning. This is likely due to the escalating production of plastic waste, originating from both households and industries, without proper waste management practices. In fact, some studies suggest that if plastic waste production remains unchecked, by 2050, there could be more plastic waste in the oceans than fish. To address this plastic waste problem, various innovations are being pursued by diverse groups, including academics, as an effort to safeguard the Earth for future generations. One such effort involves integrating knowledge with practical activities through the Student Work Lecture Program at Universitas Bina Bangsa, held in the Pekijing Village of Kalang Anyar Subdistrict, Serang City. The outcome of this initiative is that the community gains alternative skills in plastic waste processing to fuel through the student-led activities, with the hope that these skills will eventually be implemented widely in other areas. The technology employed in this process is pyrolysis, where plastic waste is heated at high temperatures and subsequently cooled to extract its oil content. Developments like this aim to enhance the value of waste by transforming it into usable liquid fuel that can benefit daily life, especially in rural communities. Although relatively new in Indonesia, several advanced countries like Japan have already applied similar approaches on an industrial scale. Thus, there is value in fostering early awareness and initiating change at the grassroots level, progressing from villages to a global scale

After that, a training program was designed that was adjusted to the level of understanding of the participants. The training focused on introducing the main features of Zahir Accounting Version 6, recording financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and simple analysis. In addition, this activity also includes a question-and-answer session and assistance in applying accounting practices to MSMEs. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of basic accounting concepts and their ability to use Zahir Accounting Version 6. MSME players are now able to record financial transactions in a more structured manner, produce more accurate financial reports, and are able to analyze the financial health of their businesses. Thus, UMKM Kadu Kempong Village can optimize the use of Zahir Accounting Version 6 software to support their business growth and development.
