Abstract

Nowadays socio-economic has new challenges. By recent global pandemic, poverty, and the migrant issues, United Nation (UN) established 17 set of indicators of the country’s well-being called Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These components need to be reached by 2030 set by the UN. Indonesia, through their government institution has set 18 village SDGs to accommodate this. West Klampis as a maritime village has environmental potential based on their demographic. However, considering their background, the villagers need to be assisted since many of fishery resources has limited contributions of their own well-being. Furthermore, their Village-Owned Enterprise called Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDES) Permata Bahari has lack of proper accounting recording and reporting. These conditions will obstruct the achievement of village SDGs. To adreess this, the community service team of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya by using the cultural and environmental approach, lead the mapping process of West Klampis fishery potential and assisted the preparation of BUMDES Permata Bahari financial report. The mapping itself describes all fishery commodities along with the components such as packaging and labelling. What makes it interesting is the head of the team deliver it by using Maduranese local language. By this cultural approach, the participants listened carefully and followed up comprehensively. While the financial report assisted to the secretary of the entity and being upgraded using Microsoft (MS) Excel. This template effectifely used for the upcoming period and finally fulfill the pilars of financial statement quality.

Abstract

Batur UNESCO Global Geopark in Bali represents a significant natural and cultural heritage area with high educational value. However, the existing information delivery system primarily relies on static information boards, which are less effective in engaging visitors, particularly younger generations accustomed to digital technology. This community service project aims to revitalize educational information media in Batur Geopark through the integration of QR-code technology and Web-based Augmented Reality (WebAR). The implementation method includes needs analysis with geopark stakeholders, design of QR-code-based educational media, development of 3D models representing key geosite elements (Mount Batur, Kintamani dog, and Trunyan village), and integration into a WebAR platform accessible via smartphones. The system was evaluated through user testing involving students, tourists, and local communities to assess usability, accessibility, and learning effectiveness. The results demonstrate that the proposed system enhances user engagement and improves understanding of geological, ecological, and cultural information. The combination of QR-code and interactive 3D visualization provides a more immersive and flexible learning experience compared to conventional methods. Additionally, the approach supports environmentally friendly information dissemination and promotes sustainable geotourism education. This study highlights the potential of digital technology integration in strengthening educational functions within geopark areas and serves as a model for similar implementations in other geotourism destinations.

Abstract

The community service partner is the elderly and families in Tambak Baru Ilir Village. There are still many elderly people who suffer cognitive impairment and decreased quality of life. Most elderly people ignore this because they don't think it's physically threatening, leading to the elderly becoming dependent on others around them. Elderly and families need to be socialized about non farmacology treatment to solve this problem, such as chair based exercise. Chair Based Exercise (CBE) is a structured physical exercise intervention carried out in a sitting position, specifically designed for elderly people with physical limitations, weaknesses, or those at high risk of falling. CBE to address issues caused by cognitive impairment and decreased quality life through skrinning cognitive function and quality of life in the elderly, demonstrated for 60-minute exercise session for 25 elderly individuals. The result of the CBE demonstration was that the elderly and their families feel enthusiastic about this activity. In kognitif function, majority elderly are in intact cognitive function category and all are in the moderate quality of life category. CBE can have a positive impact on elderly individuals who face issues due to cognitive impairment and decreased quality of life, helping them to maintain their lives and continually respond to their surrounding environment.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in geotourism within the Aspiring Pangandaran Geopark through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital marketing using a participatory training model. MSMEs in the region face challenges such as limited digital innovation, inadequate technological access, and low capability in social media-based promotion. To address these issues, the program applied a participatory approach and speculative design thinking involving MSME owners, academics, and tourism destination managers in collaborative learning. The training consisted of three main modules: (1) digital literacy and cybersecurity for entrepreneurs, (2) the use of AI in digital marketing strategies (AI-driven storytelling, content generation, and consumer analytics), and (3) creative promotional artifact development based on local geodiversity and biodiversity. The results indicate significant improvements in participants’ ability to create digital content, understand online market opportunities, and utilize basic AI tools (chatbots, image generators, and social media analytics) to expand promotional reach. The participatory training model demonstrated positive social impacts, including strengthened MSME community networks, increased visibility of geopark-based products, and contributions to sustainable local economic development. The findings confirm that integrating AI and digital literacy represents an innovative strategy for community-based MSME empowerment in geopark areas.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to increase productivity, business efficiency, and economic added value at the Elok Mekar Sari Surabaya MSME through the application of Appropriate Technology (TTG) and innovation in catfish-based products. The main problems faced by partners include limitations in water quality management, high fish mortality rates, and low product diversification and business management. The method used in this activity is a participatory approach through the stages of preparation, implementation, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The implementation of technology includes the use of a 1200-liter water tank, water pumps, filtration systems, aerators, and the application of a biofloc system to maintain water quality. In addition, innovations in processing catfish products into shredded fish and nuggets were carried out to increase added value. The results of the activity showed an increase in more stable water quality, a decrease in fish mortality rates, and an increase in cultivation productivity. Furthermore, there was an increase in the partners' business management capacity through more structured financial records, business planning, and cost analysis. Product diversification also provides opportunities for increasing income and expanding the market. Overall, this PKM activity has a positive impact on economic and social aspects, and encourages the sustainability of businesses based on local potential.

Abstract

The growth of digital transactions and the creative economy in Indonesia brings tremendous opportunities as well as significant legal risks. In reality, many people do not yet understand their rights as consumers and do not know what to do when they suffer losses. This situation serves as the background for the organization of the Seminar by the Faculty of Law of Universitas Pembinaan Masyarakat Indonesia (UPMI) Medan as part of its community service program. The seminar, themed Consumer Protection in Digital Transactions and the Creative Economy, was designed to provide practical understanding to the community, particularly students, regarding consumer protection regulations, legally guaranteed rights, challenges in the creative economy sector, and complaint channels available when their rights are violated. The methods employed included interactive lectures, panel discussions, and direct question-and-answer sessions with speakers competent in consumer law and the digital economy. Pre- and post-activity evaluations showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law), the complaint mechanism through BPSK, and preventive measures in digital transactions. This activity is expected to be part of ongoing efforts to promote legal literacy in the digital era.

Abstract

Local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Purwakarta, particularly ceramic craftsmen in Plered District, have strong potential to contribute to regional economic growth and enter broader export markets. However, they still face several major problems, including inconsistent product quality, limited design innovation, weak packaging standards, insufficient branding, limited digital marketing capacity, and low readiness to meet export market requirements. The gap identified in this activity is the limited integration between traditional ceramic production practices and modern market-oriented strategies, especially in quality control, product differentiation, digital promotion, and export preparation. Current developments show that MSME competitiveness is increasingly influenced by product innovation, digital marketing, branding, packaging quality, and export readiness. Therefore, this community service activity applied a participatory mentoring approach through field observation, discussion, consultation, and practical recommendations for ceramic craftsmen in Plered. The proposed solution focused on strengthening product quality, improving design and packaging, developing brand identity, optimizing digital marketing, and preparing MSMEs for export-oriented market access. The results indicate that the mentoring activity increased the awareness of ceramic craftsmen regarding product competitiveness, market standards, and the importance of continuous innovation. In conclusion, ceramic MSMEs in Plered have strong potential to improve their competitiveness in the export market when supported by consistent mentoring, quality standardization, strategic branding, digital promotion, and collaboration between higher education institutions, local industry, and community stakeholders.

Abstract

This study examines how AI-powered market insight contributes to the transformation of local entrepreneurship, focusing on SMEs in Purwakarta, Indonesia. Despite increasing digital adoption, many SMEs remain unable to utilize data for strategic decision-making. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic analysis supported by systematic coding procedures. The findings reveal that while SMEs are digitally active, their use of technology remains largely operational rather than strategic. Entrepreneurs rely heavily on experience-based decision-making, with limited capability to interpret and utilize market data. As a result, business strategies tend to be reactive, leading to inconsistent market visibility and limited competitiveness. The study demonstrates that the impact of AI on entrepreneurial transformation is indirect, mediated through market insight capability and decision-making processes. This study contributes to the literature by highlighting that the transformation of local entrepreneurship requires not only digital adoption but also the development of data-driven capabilities. The findings provide implications for policymakers and practitioners in designing targeted interventions to support SMEs in leveraging AI for sustainable growth..
