Abstract

Magic is a science that is related to black magic and is also related to the evil within a person, the occult has emerged for a long time even for a very long time and will remain until the end of time. in writing stories of magic in the Qur'an the author divides into three events that occur in the Qur’an, among others; First, the story of Harut and Marut has many different versions, but in this incident the two characters are closely related to witchcraft, the second is the story of Moses fighting a shaman from Pharaoh, where Moses was able to defeat the magic snake belonging to the shaman from Pharaoh with a miracle from God, the third is the story of al-Mu’auwwidzatain (al-falaq and an-Nas), namely when Ifrit from the jinn group, once tried to harm the Prophet Muhammad with his tricks. Many commentators argue that the two letters were revealed because the Prophet Muhammad was tested in the form of magic by the Jews, namely Labid bin al-A’sham.

Abstract

This research uses mixed methods, namely a combination of quantitative and qualitative research techniques, with the aim of producing a more comprehensive picture of the Level of Religious Moderation of IAIN Sorong Students. The methodology used was simple random sampling, 170 students were taken from all faculties to be used as samples for this research. The research results show that IAIN Sorong students have a good level of religious moderation, namely not too extreme to the left (liberal) and not too extreme to the right (fanatic, radical and anarchist). The indicators of national commitment, accommodating to local culture, anti-radicalism and violence range between 60% and are in the high category. Meanwhile, the percentage tolerance indicator is 45%, and is still relatively low. From the research results, it can be concluded that it is important to maintain and further improve the understanding and application of the concept of religious moderation. Students in the future will act as catalysts for moderate diversity in a pluralistic society, so it is the collective task of the entire campus academic community to continue to socialize the concept of religious moderation again, in order to create a harmonious life amidst the diversity of Papuan society.

Abstract

The dowry or maskawin is the property given by the groom to the bride at the time of the wedding. The forms of dowry used are also varied, such as cash, shares, prayer equipment, even memorizing the Koran. The phenomenon of giving a wedding dowry in the form of memorizing the Koran is often heard in society. Sometimes, such a dowry is a request from the bride to her future husband. It is feared that many people will misunderstand Sahl bin Sa'ad's hadith about the man whom Rasulullah SAW married with a dowry from memorizing the Koran. A review of Islamic law and the theory of maqasid al-syariyah is very appropriate to use in determining the legal certainty of this phenomenon. This research is a qualitative literature review (library research) with data collected using documentary methods and analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. The results of this research are that the law of giving a wedding dowry in the form of memorizing the Koran is permissible, because it is considered not to conflict with Islamic law. The dowry for memorizing the Koran is also a manifestation of a man's efforts to implement the principles and objectives of Islamic law, namely maintaining honor. The wisdom aspect of the background of giving a dowry in the form of memorizing the Koran is very harmonious with the aim of prescribing a dowry for someone who wants to marry a woman.

Abstract

Abstract Confrontation about the use of hermeneutics in the interpretation of the Qur'an is still hot among Qur'an scholars today. The confrontation also colors the social media platform which is now an instrument to convey one's views or ideas. The pro-contra response to the hermeneutics of the Qur'an appears on the Instagram accounts @elmaslak and @tanwirid which are different in viewing the interpretation of the Qur'an with hermeneutical nuances. This research was also conducted to determine the response of the two accounts, through the question of how the two accounts respond to hermeneutics in the interpretation of the Qur'an. In answering this question, this research was compiled using a qualitative approach and using Teun A. Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis theory. This research also shows that the varied responses to hermeneutics are due to differences in the scientific genealogy of the two account owners. The @elmaslak account, which is affiliated with al-Azhar Cairo alumni, gives a response that tends to reject hermeneutics. While @tanwirid, which is affiliated with students of al-Qur'an and tafsir in Indonesia, tends to be open in viewing hermeneutics in the interpretation of the Qur'an. The difference in response certainly provides its own color in the scholarship of al-Qur'an and tafsir. With this research, it indicates that the geneology of tafsir studies has experienced a dialectic of study products, not only limited to written texts but massively produced on social media whose readers are no longer exclusive. Abstract

This paper examines the views of Muslim and Western philosophers on Islamic philosophy and science, with the aim of understanding the contributions and interactions between the two traditions of thought. Muslim philosophers such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Al-Ghazali attempted to integrate religious teachings with rational thought, creating a dialogue between revelation and reason. They emphasized the importance of empirical experience, ethics, and spirituality in the development of science. Western philosophers, on the other hand, provided a different perspective, often emphasizing rationalism, empiricism, and the scientific method. Despite differences in epistemological and methodological approaches, the dialogue between Muslim and Western philosophers shows that the search for truth is a universal endeavor that transcends cultural and religious boundaries. This paper hopes to provide deeper insight into the relationship between philosophy and science in the Islamic context and the significant contributions made by thinkers from both traditions to the development of global science. The findings suggest that despite methodological differences, both Muslim and Western thinkers recognize the organic unity of philosophy and science in the Islamic tradition, as well as its relevance in addressing contemporary epistemological challenges.
