Abstract

The attitude of students' concern for the surrounding environment is still relatively low, this is due to the lack of use of assessment instruments in assessing student attitudes. The purpose of this study is to analyses the design and tests the feasibility of the instrument of caring attitude and science knowledge competence. This research belongs to the type of development research, using the ADDIE development model. The subjects involved in this study were 2 lecturers and 3 fourth grade elementary school teachers. Data was collected using field study, observation, questionnaire, and test methods. The data obtained in the study were then analyzed by testing the validity and reliability of the instrument. The results of data analysis showed that the validation obtained an average percentage for the content aspect of 76.67% (adequate), the aspect of the social science technology model 80% (adequate), the format aspect 82% (very feasible), the language aspect 93% (very feasible) and 82% presentation aspect (very decent). Furthermore, the reliability test showed the results of the reliability coefficient values for the test instrument and the questionnaire instrument were 0.893 and 0.939, respectively. This value is in the range of 0.80 < r 1.00, this shows that the reliability of the two instruments used in this study is very high. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the assessment instrument for caring attitudes and science knowledge competencies are valid and reliable category so that it is very feasible to be developed and used in the learning process.

Abstract

This research was carried out due to the lack of use of varied teaching materials, causing a lack of scientific literacy and problem-solving skills of students in learning. This study aims to analyze the design, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of project-based learning-based modules to improve scientific literacy and problem solving in plant development materials. This research is development research using the 4D model (Four D Model). The subjects of this study were material experts, media experts, educators, and third grade elementary school students. Data collection methods used are interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The type of instrument used is a closed questionnaire. Data collection techniques used are qualitative analysis techniques and quantitative analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate the results of the calculation of the effectiveness test on the overall scientific literacy ability using N-gain with a g value of = 0.74 with a high level of effectiveness. The results of the effectiveness test on overall problem-solving ability using N-gain obtained a g value of = 0.71 with a high level of effectiveness. Thus, the project-based learning module developed with the 4D model is valid, practical, and effective to be used as teaching materials. The implication of this research is that the project-based learning module developed is valid, feasible, and effective for use in learning.

Abstract

The assessment process carried out by teachers at this time is still not by the demands of 21st-century education. Some teachers use assessment instruments available on the internet without using the HOTS instrument. This study aimed to create a higher-order thinking skill (HOTS) assessment instrument for grade VI elementary school students. In this study, the development of the assessment instrument was guided by the Borg & Gall development model. In this study, the method used to collect data is the test method. The results of the content validity test tested by four expert lecturers of the HOTS assessment instrument were declared relevant, the item validity test conducted in 4 schools was declared valid, and the results of the reliability test of the HOTS assessment instrument were 0.82, which was in the very high category, the average test results The difference power of the questions is 0.43 which is in the excellent category, the average test results for the level of difficulty of the questions are 0.502 which are in the medium category. Based on this analysis, it can be said that the higher-order thinking skill (HOTS) assessment instrument in learning Theme 8 (Bumiku) in grade VI elementary school is feasible to use.
