Abstract

Di penghujung abad keduapuluh, berkembang sistem produktivitas yang dihasilkan dari kemampuan mendidik tenaga kerja dalam memperoleh kecakapan baru berdasarkan pengetahuan baru. Manajemen pengetahuan (knowledge management), modal intelektual (intellectual capital) dan pembelajaran organisasi (organizational learning) menjadi konsep baru yang penting dalam teori manajemen. Pakar teori organisasi Ikko Toumi dalam bukunya ‘Corporate Knowledge’ mengemukakan teori integrasi manajemen pengetahuan berdasarkan karya Ikujiro Nonaka. Toumi dan Nonaka berpandangan bahwa pengetahuan yang diciptakan oleh individu dapat dimunculkan dan diperluas oleh organisasi melalui interaksi social di mana pengetahuan yang tersirat (tacit knowledge) diubah menjadi pengetahuan yang tersurat (explicit knowledge). Proses penciptaan harus dipahami sebagai suatu proses yang secara organisasional memperkuat pengetahuan yang diciptakan oleh individu dan pembentukannya merupakan bagian dari jaringan pengetahuan organisasi. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran organisasi (organizational learning) memiliki dimensi individual dan social. Perguruan tinggi adalah institusi dengan modal intelektual dan mengelola pengetahuan sehingga organisasi pembelajaran (organizational learning) merupakan organisasi yang tepat guna diimplementasikan di perguruan tinggi. Katakunci: modal intelektual, pembelajaran organisasi, perguruan tinggi, manajemen pengetahuan

Abstract

Di Indonesia industri otomotif merupakan salah satu industri yang menyumbangkan pajak terbesar bagi pemerintah Indonesia. Saat ini industri otomotif Indonesia berkembang sangat cepat dan signifikan, dan dalam beberapa tahun ke depan diprediksikan akan menjadi yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara, menggeser posisi Thailand yang selama ini menjadi pemimpin pasar. Meskipun industri otomotif ini demikian pesat perkembangannya dan banyak menarik investor asing, sayangnya belum banyak penelitian yang mengkaji faktor-faktor apa saja yang menjadi kunci sukses industri ini di Indonesia. Mengingat bahwa industri ini merupakan industri yang bersifat technology-driven, dengan sistem produksi yang telah berkelas dunia dan infrastuktur manajemen lainnya yang saling mendukung, perlu dikaji selain faktor sistem produksi, faktor apa lagi yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja organisasi pada industri ini. Dengan mempertimbangkan bahwa kehebatan suatu sistem produksi tidak dapat dilepaskan dari sumber daya manusia yang menciptakan, mengatur, menjalankan dan mengontrol sistem tersebut, maka tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh aspek pengelolaan sumber daya manusia terhadap peningkatan kinerja organisasi di industri otomotif di Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan pada dua perusahaan otomotif milik Jepang di Indonesia, dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek pengelolaan sumber daya manusia terbukti berpengaruh positif secara langsung dan signifikan terhadap kinerja organisasi di industri otomotif di Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract.Technological learning has an important role in forming technological capability and innovation as a key point of competitiveness in this globalized era. On the one hand, developed countries have engaged themselves in the high-tech industry which can result in high added value. On the other hand, very few of developing countries which are able to develop such kind of industry. In Indonesia, low-tech industry seems to have greater development compared with high-tech or medium-high. One of the possible causes is unoptimum technological learning. Notwithstanding, there are many literature on the condition of technological learning. Nevertheless,the one with more intention in technology intensity is still rarely found. This paper attempts to discuss technological learning model in manufacturing industry by conducting case studies in several companies based on technology intensity classified by Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Based on four case studies, variation of technological learning model based on the involved actors and their domination in technological learning process is analyzed. Technological learning is proven to support innovation creation. Companies in the manufacturing sector with high technology intensity tend to choose in-house technological learning. Meanwhile, companies in medium-high sector tend to choose combination of internal-external technological learning. Strategic role of the technology for firm's core competence, proprietary aspect of technology, resource capacity, and demand characteristics becomes considered factors in making a choice on the type of technological learning.Keywords: technological learning, manufacturing company, technology intensity, technological capability, innovationAbstrak.Pembelajaran teknologi memiliki peran penting terhadap pembentukan kemampuan teknologi serta inovasi yang merupakan penentu daya saing di era global seperti saat ini. Sementara itu, negara maju telah mampu mengembangkan industri dengan intensitas teknologi tinggi yang dapat menghasilkan nilai tambah yang tinggi. Di lain pihak, baru sedikit negara berkembang yang mampu mengembangkan industri tersebut. Di Indonesia sendiri, industri dengan intensitas teknologi rendah terlihat lebih berkembang dibandingkan industri dengan intensitas teknologi tinggi maupun menengah-tinggi. Hal tersebut salah satunya disebabkan oleh kurang optimalnya pembelajaran teknologi. Telah banyak literatur mengenai kondisi pembelajaran teknologi di sektor manufaktur. Namun demikian, literatur yang menekankan pada intensitas teknologi masih jarang ditemukan. Tulisan ini akan membahas mengenai model pembelajaran teknologi pada industri manufaktur dengan melakukan studi kasus pada perusahaan dengan intensitas teknologi tinggi dan menengah-tinggi yang ada di Indonesia. Klasifikasi industri berdasarkan intensitas teknologi didasarkan pada pengklasifikasian Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Dari studi kasus pada empat perusahaan, dilakukan analisis terhadap variasi model pembelajaran teknologi dilihat dari aktor-aktor yang terlibat dan dominasi aktor-aktor tersebut dalam proses pembelajaran teknologi. Dari hasil studi kasus yang dilakukan, terlihat bahwa pembelajaran teknologi dapat mendukung penciptaan inovasi. Perusahaan pada sektor manufaktur dengan intensitas teknologi tinggi cenderung memilih pembelajaran teknologi internal. Sedangkan perusahaan pada sektor dengan intensitas menengah-tinggi lebih memilih pembelajaran teknologi kombinasi internal-eksternal. Peran strategis teknologi terhadap kompetensi inti perusahaan, aspek proprietary dari teknologi,kemampuan sumberdaya, serta karakteristik permintaan terlihat menjadi faktor yang dipertimbangkan oleh perusahaan dalam memilih tipe pembelajaran teknologi.Kata kunci: pembelajaran teknologi, perusahaan manufaktur, intensitas teknologi, kemampuan teknologi, inovasi

Abstract

PT 'X' Bandung is a state-owned companies and one of its products is vehicle. One of the important subassemblies of the vehicle is the airbrake. This paper is aimed finding and selecting feasible midterm production plan alternatives for the Machining Department for the production of air brake for the upcoming scheduled three consecutive periods, namely period 1 (12 days), period 2 (12 days), and period 3 (27 days) using decision-making methodology base on Hayes et al., consisting of evaluating the existing capacity to meet orders, defining alternatives for meeting those likely orders, performing financial analysis of each alternative, assessing key criteria or key issues for each alternative, and selecting and defending the alternative to be pursued. We calculated that the existing capacity was insufficient to meet the orders, and therefore,we developed four alternatives. The first alternative was trying to meet the demand using the available resources by accepting the lateness in which penalty costs would have to be calculated based on the contract agreement. The second alternative was adding capacity through overtime and in this regard the overtime costs would be calculated. The Thrid alternative was adding capacity by purchasing new machines in which capital required would be calculated. And the last alternative was a mix of overtime and the addition of new machines and the related costs would be calculated as well. The alternative with the least cost would be selected. Based on our analysis using two criteria, namely compliance to schedule and costs, we conclude that the last alternative is the best production plan for the company in meeting the demand of airbrake for the upcoming three periods.Keywords: midterm production planning, decision making methodology, airbrake

Abstract

Abstrak. Meningkatnya penggunaan mobile advergames untuk menyampaikan pesan pemasaran belum diikuti dengan bukti empiris efektivitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh mobile advergames intrusiveness terhadap consumer irritation, sikap pada iklan, sikap pada produk yang diiklankan, dan niat beli konsumen. Pengujian efektivitas mobile advergames ini didasarkan pada fenomena meningkatnya penggunaan media mobile untuk menyampaikan pesan pemasaran pada konsumen dari kelompok demografis yang berbeda. Kerangka konseptual penelitian dibangun berdasarkan Advertising Avoidance Theory. Untuk pengumpulan data, self-administered survey dilakukan dengan menerapkan purposive sampling dan melibatkan 213 responden yang berdomisili di Surabaya dan pernah memainkan mobile games. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin konsumen merasa bahwa iklan yang muncul pada mobile advergames mengganggu kenyamanan mereka (intrusive), semakin kuat perasaan marah (irritation) yang terbentuk pada diri konsumen. Perasaan marah konsumen berpengaruh negatif dalam pembentukan sikap pada mobile advergames dan sikap pada produk yang diiklankan. Semakin baik sikap pada mobile advergames berpengaruh pada semakin positif sikap konsumen pada produk yang diiklankan. Begitu pula semakin positif sikap konsumen pada produk yang diiklankan, semakin positif pula niat konsumen untuk membeli. Menariknya, sikap pada mobile advergames tidak berpengaruh terhadap niat beli. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi bagi praktisi pemasaran yang menggunakan mobile advergames sebagai media placement dalam strategi periklanan mereka.Kata kunci: intrusiveness, irritation, mobile advergames, sikap, iklanAbstract. Increasing adoption of mobile advergames to deliver marketing messages has not been followed by empirical findings to support its effevtiveness. This research attempts to examine the effect of mobile advergames intrusiveness on consumer irritation, attitudes, and purchase intention. This investigation on mobile advergame effectiveness was based on the increasing use of mobile media to deliver marketing messages to consumers from different demographic background. Conceptual framework was developed based on Advertising Avoidance Theory. For data collection, self-administered survey was conducted by adopting purposive sampling involving 213 respondents residing in Surabaya who have had experience in playing mobile game as respondents. Results indicate that intrusiveness positively affects consumer irritation. Consumer irritation negatively affects attitude towards the mobile advergames and attitude towards the advertised product. The better the consumer attitude towards the mobile advergames, the more positive the attitude towards the advertised product. Moreover, the more positive the attitude towards the advertised product, the greater the consumer intention to purchase. Interestingly, consumer attitude toward the mobile advergames has insignificant influence on purchase intention. Findings of the study offer significant contribution to marketing practices using mobile advergames as media placement in their advertising strategy.Keywords: intrusiveness, irritation, mobile advergames, attitude, advertising

Abstract

Supply chain collaboration has emerged as an important cooperative strategy leading to new focus on interorganisational boundaries as the determinants of performance. Although collaboration increasingly receives great attention both from practitioners and academics, relatively little attention has been given to systematically reviewing the research literature that has appeared about supply chain collaboration. The purpose of this paper is to examine previous studies on supply chain collaboration based on a taxonomy. The proposed taxonomy is composed of four different research streams of describing specific subjects of interorganisational settings, namely information sharing, business processes, incentive schemes, and performance systems. The analysis includes the assessment of research ideas and key findings. Results show the great variability of key concepts across the four components of the taxonomy and an increased awareness of complementarity amongst research streams. Abstract

Abstrak. Organisasi telah lama tertarik pada bagaimana pegawai memikirkan dan merasakan pekerjaan mereka dan apa yang menyebabkan pegawai bersedia untuk mendedikasikan diri untuk organisasi. Para peneliti berpendapat bahwa gaya kepemimpinan dan engagement merupakan variabel motivasi yang mengarah perilaku extra-role dan tingkat prestasi kerja yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh integrative leadership dan employee engagement terhadap extra-role, dengan mengambil studi kasus pada guru di 27 Sekolah Menengah Atas swasta di Madiun, dengan responden sebanyak 319 guru tetap. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah quota sampling. Pengumpulan data primer dengan metode cross sectional dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis ini digunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa :1)integrative leadership berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku extra-role; 2)employee engagement berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku extra-role. Organizations have long been interested in how employees think and feel about their jobs and what employees are willing to dedicate to the organization. Leadership style and employee engagement has been found to be positively related to extra-role b behavior and individual job performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of integrative leadership and employee engagement on extra-role b behavior, a case study of teacher in 27 particular high schools in Madiun, as many as 319 permanent teachers. The sampling method is quota sampling. The collection of primary data by cross sectional using questionnaires. The analysis is used multiple regression analysis. Results of multiple regression analysis showed that: 1) integrative leadership had significant and positive direct effect on extra-role behavior; 2) employee engagement had significant and positive effect on extra-role behavior.Keywords: integrative leadership, employee engagement, motivation, extra-role Behavior, job performance.

Abstract

Problems of municipal solid waste planning and management (MSWPM) in developing countries are multiple and interrelated. The nature of these problems has three major implications. First, the conventional approach with its focus on collection, transportation, and disposal activities and its primary goal of technical efficiency in service provision in no longer appreciate. Second, involvement and participation from various actors other than the local waste authorities is called for. Partnership of stakeholdes in MSWPM are necessary. Third, the increasingly complex issues associated with MSWPM and the inability of the conventional approach to deal with them lead to the necessity of an integrated approach to MSWPM in developing countries. This paper is the first of two parts. In this part, a conceptual of an integrated solid waste planning and management (IMSWPM) for developing countries is formulated. Any integrated approach to resources and environmental planning and management embodies two basic dimensions: substantive and procedural. The former can be characterized by four main attributes: holistic, inter-connective, goal oriented, and strategic. Thus, the proposed framework suggests that integrated municipal solid waste planning and management is holistic when it takes into account various perspectives, such as public and environmental health, physical, technical, social/cultural, economical/financial, institutional and managerial, political, and legal; inter-connective as it is based on interactions among four main components: activities, actor (stakeholders), option, and aspects (perspectives); goal oriented through the identification of common goals among stakeholders; and strategic when it identifies key issues associated with taste generation, source separation,service provision, composting, sorting and recycling, and safe disposal. Keywords: municipal solid waste management, development, conceptual framework

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the vertical integration of markets between producers market grain rice with a retail market in Indonesia. Results of analysis useful for government to review whether the price received by farmers is quite feasible when viewed from the price of rice sold to consumers. The data used are secondary data from monthly data for average price of rice retail and average prices of grain producers in Indonesia. Monthly data from January 2000 to December 2008 is the time series data and analyzed with a model of Vector Autoregression (VAR). The results showed that the price movements of grain producers and rice consumers in Indonesia have a similar direction, but the price of grain producers more volatile than rice consumers. Grain producers market has not fully integrated with the rice retail market in Indonesia. In the short term grain producers market influenced by rice consumers market but it does not vice versa. Government intervention is needed in the grain producers market. If the grain producers market is fully integrated with rice retail market, it will mean changes in the retail price of rice is also followed by changes in the price of grain producers with the same direction.How to cite:Aryani, D.
