Abstract

Ulos has high cultural and economic value, but its market accessibility in the digital era is still limited due to the dominance of conventional sales. The Yusnita Tenun Uwis Nipes SME in Binjai City faces obstacles in online marketing and a lack of specialized platforms that provide accurate product information. This study aims to design the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of a mobile-based ulos e-commerce application to expand market reach and increase sales conversion. Using a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach, this study ensures that the application is designed according to user needs and preferences to be more intuitive and user-friendly. The results of this design are expected to increase product visibility, facilitate digital transactions, and support the preservation of Ulos culture through adaptive technology.

Abstract

Flooding is a hydrometeorological disaster that frequently occurs in Indonesia and causes significant impacts on residential areas. The limitations of early warning systems at the household scale often result in communities being late in taking preventive actions. This study aims to design and develop a prototype of a flood detection system based on Arduino Uno that is capable of providing early warnings through a buzzer and displaying water level information on an LCD. The system uses an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to measure water surface levels in real time and classify them into three conditions, namely safe, alert, and danger. The research method employed is a design-and-build method with an experimental approach. Testing was conducted in a simulated environment with variations in water level up to 10 cm. The test results show that the system is able to detect changes in water level consistently with relatively small measurement deviations and provide warning responses according to the specified thresholds. This prototype is expected to serve as a simple, economical, and easily implementable solution for a flood early warning system in residential environments.

Abstract

Toko Paris is an UMKM engaged in the sale of Arabic calligraphy products and still runs a conventional sales system through physical stores. Therefore, a digital solution is needed that can improve service convenience and sales effectiveness. This study aims to design the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design on the Toko Paris mobile application by applying the Design Thinking method. This method is carried out through several main stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. The application display design was carried out using Figma software as a visualization medium for mobile design. Furthermore, the resulting prototype was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. The results of testing on 10 respondents by answering 10 questions and obtained a SUS score of 65 which is included in the adjective category Good and the acceptability level Marginal High. This application design is expected to be a digital solution that can support the increase in competitiveness of Toko Paris UMKM in facing the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

At Pembangunan Panca Budi University, to find the location of a building, only signs and campus maps are used as navigation tools. This method makes it a little difficult for students, especially new students and visitors, to find the building they want to go to. The purpose of this study is to create an augmented reality application as a GPS-based building guide. This study uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which includes six phases: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The MDLC approach was chosen because this method is suitable for developing interactive multimedia applications. The resulting application has navigation features to the destination building such as a minimap, distance estimation, and directions. The results of system testing using Blackbox testing indicate that all features can function properly. Therefore, this GPS-based augmented reality application is expected to help students, lecturers, and visitors in finding the building they are going to.

Abstract

Home security is an important aspect of modern life, especially in the digital era that demands efficiency and ease of monitoring. The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has opened up great opportunities in the development of smart home security systems. Based on these conditions, this study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based home door security system by utilizing a Reed Switch sensor (magnetic door) and a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller. The Reed Switch sensor functions to detect the door status, both in open and closed states, while the NodeMCU ESP8266 is used as a control center that processes sensor data and sends notifications in real-time via Telegram Bot. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) which includes the stages of system analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The test results show that the system is able to detect changes in door conditions well and send notifications quickly and accurately to users. In addition, the system can operate stably for a fairly long period of time without significant problems. Therefore, the IoT-based door security system developed can be used as an additional security solution that is effective, easy to implement, and economical to improve home security.

Abstract

Student score data at SMK Swasta Rahmat Islamiyah Medan must be protected to prevent unauthorized access, modification, or data loss. To ensure confidentiality and data integrity, this research implements the Vernam Cipher encryption algorithm, which uses a one-time pad key and XOR operations to secure data. The algorithm provides strong protection when the key is used only once and kept confidential. By applying Vernam Cipher to the student score data process, all stored or transmitted information becomes unreadable without the correct key. This method helps reduce the risk of data leakage and manipulation. The results show that Vernam Cipher is effective in enhancing the security of student score data, ensuring a fair and reliable assessment process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan sistem absensi berbasis GPS yang terintegrasi dengan penggajian berbasis web pada CV. Rizkatu untuk meningkatkan akurasi kehadiran, transparansi, dan efisiensi administrasi SDM. Permasalahan yang dihadapi meliputi pencatatan absensi manual yang rentan manipulasi dan salah input, keterlambatan rekapitulasi, serta perhitungan gaji, lembur, dan potongan yang belum otomatis. Pengembangan dilakukan menggunakan metode Extreme Programming (XP) melalui siklus planning, desain sederhana, coding, dan testing secara iteratif dengan umpan balik pengguna. Fitur utama mencakup check-in/check-out berbasis koordinat dan waktu, validasi radius lokasi kerja (geofencing), unggah bukti foto, pengajuan izin/cuti, serta dashboard admin untuk verifikasi dan monitoring. Modul penggajian menghitung gaji periodik berdasarkan data kehadiran, jam lembur, keterlambatan, dan ketidakhadiran, lalu menghasilkan slip gaji dan laporan rekap. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan black-box testing dan uji penerimaan pengguna untuk memastikan fungsi berjalan sesuai kebutuhan. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan rekap absensi dan perhitungan gaji lebih cepat, konsisten, mudah diaudit, serta meminimalkan kesalahan administrasi. Sistem ini diharapkan menjadi dasar transformasi digital pengelolaan kehadiran dan penggajian di CV. Rizkatu. Implementasi memanfaatkan arsitektur client–server dengan basis data terpusat sehingga histori absensi tersimpan rapi dan dapat ditelusuri per periode. Mekanisme role-based access membedakan hak akses admin, HR, dan karyawan. Laporan dapat diekspor untuk kebutuhan audit dan akuntansi secara otomatis.

The evolution of blockchain technology establishes a novel paradigm for digital data management, underscoring transparency, security, and immutability. Centralized user data systems in ride-hailing platforms like Gojek are susceptible to breaches and manipulation. This study investigates the deployment of smart contracts to safeguard data immutability and augment user privacy via decentralization. Adopting a systematic literature review of recent blockchain applications in digital transportation, the results reveal that smart contract integration obviates central server dependency, automates transaction validation, and grants users complete sovereignty over personal data

Abstract

A computer network is a collection of devices connected to communicate and exchange data. The internet is a global network that connects users worldwide. To access the internet, Mikrotik network devices and LAN cables are commonly used. However, LAN cables are less efficient for multiple users, especially smartphone users, as Android devices do not support LAN connections. Mikrotik offers a hotspot feature that allows users to connect wirelessly. To ensure security and prevent unauthorized access, login authentication is required. This can be achieved by integrating the RADIUS feature on Mikrotik with FreeRADIUS and MySQL on an Ubuntu server. User accounts for authentication can be managed through the daloRADIUS web application. The integration of FreeRADIUS, MySQL, and daloRADIUS with Mikrotik simplifies user account management and prevents unauthorized users from accessing the network. This system enhances security and ensures only registered users are able to access the internet via the hotspot.

Abstract

The development of information technology has driven a transformation in healthcare service management, including in the management system of medical warehouse inventory in hospitals. Bhayangkara Hospital TK II Medan, as a referral hospital, has complex and ongoing medical logistics needs, requiring an effective and accurate inventory management system. However, inventory systems that are still manual or semi-computerized pose various problems, such as discrepancies between stock data and physical conditions, delays in information on item availability, difficulties in monitoring expiration dates, as well as the risk of stock shortages or overstocking. This study aims to design a web-based medical warehouse inventory system capable of managing data centrally and in real-time. The research methods used include system requirements analysis, system design, and web-based system implementation. The results of this study are expected to produce an inventory system that facilitates recording of incoming and outgoing goods, monitoring of stock and expiration dates, and the presentation of accurate reports. With this system, it is anticipated that the management of the medical warehouse inventory at Bhayangkara Hospital TK II Medan will become more effective and efficient and support improvements in healthcare service quality.
