Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the leadership style of the principal affects the efficiency of Islamic education management at Jati Agung 2nd State Junior High School. This study employs a quantitative methodology with a correlational design, gathering data via a Likert scale questionnaire bolstered by documentation and interviews. Using a saturation sample strategy, 40 teachers and other education professionals made up the study population. The validity and reliability of the study tool were evaluated, yielding Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.82 for management effectiveness and 0.79 for leadership style. With a regression coefficient value of 0.694 and a determination coefficient (R2) of 0.482, the findings of a straightforward linear regression study demonstrate that the leadership style of the principal significantly and favorably affects the efficacy of Islamic Education management. This indicates that the leadership style of the principal accounts for 48.2% of management effectiveness. These results suggest that a leader's style particularly transformational leadership has a significant impact on how well Islamic education initiatives are planned, carried out, coordinated, and overseen in educational institutions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how well e-learning-based learning models affect the learning outcomes of high school mathematics students. Using a nonequivalent control group design, a quantitative, quasi-experimental methodology is employed. Two XI classes, each with 30 students, during the 2024-2025 school year at State Senior High School 10 Bandar Lampung made up the sample. While the control group employed traditional learning methods, the experimental group employed e-learning-based learning. A multiple-choice learning outcome test that has undergone reliability testing and validation served as the tool. With a significance value of 0.001 (p <0.05), the data analysis results demonstrated that the experimental group's average mathematics learning outcomes (78.60) were substantially greater than the control group's (71.40). The results of the precondition test demonstrated that the data had homogeneous variance and were normally distributed. These results suggest that interactive media, enhanced learning motivation, and flexibility of access are ways that e-learning can enhance student learning outcomes. As a result, e-learning-based math instruction may be a wise choice for raising educational standards in the digital age.

Abstract

This study examines how English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in public senior high schools in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur (East OKU), South Sumatera, Indonesia, perceive and use artificial intelligence (AI) tools in their classrooms. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis with six EFL teachers. The findings reveal that the teachers generally have positive attitudes toward AI, particularly because of its ability to provide immediate feedback, encourage learner autonomy, and increase student motivation. However, practical implementation is challenged by limited infrastructure, including unstable internet connectivity and inadequate school facilities, as well as gaps in pedagogical competence and concerns over ethical misuse by students. A strong need for localized, curriculum-linked professional development programs tailored to AI tools was also expressed by teachers. The study found that integrating AI effectively in Indonesian EFL contexts requires more than just easy access to technology. It also needs well-designed training, investment from schools and universities, and guidelines to ensure ethical use of AI. The research proffers pragmatic insights for teachers, policymakers, and curriculum designers seeking to ameliorate the discrepancy between AI's potential and its actuality in language education.

Abstract

This study examines the gap between numeracy scores presented in the national Education Report and the actual assessment results of students at SDN 184 Pekanbaru. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the extent to which macro-level national data aligns with the actual numeracy achievements of students in the classroom. The research subjects consisted of 20 fifth-grade students selected using purposive sampling techniques based on the diversity of their academic achievements. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection methods including the analysis of the 2025 Education Report document and field-based numeracy assessments developed to measure students’ numeracy competencies. The numeracy domains analyzed include number, algebra, geometry, as well as data and uncertainty. The findings revealed that the numeracy score in the Education Report was 53.33%, generally indicating the attainment of minimum competency. However, the students' actual assessment results showed an average score of only 46.70%, indicating a performance gap. Students tended to perform better in the number and geometry domains but faced significant challenges in algebraic reasoning and data interpretation. These findings underscore the importance of cross-verifying national report data with classroom assessments to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of learning outcomes. The study recommends that schools conduct regular and contextual evaluations of numeracy learning and implement teaching strategies better aligned with students’ cognitive readiness and real-life experiences. The results offer practical implications for instructional planning, learning design, and the implementation of targeted numeracy interventions in primary school environments.

Abstract

The separation between religious knowledge and science in the modern education system has created a dichotomy that weakens the essence of holistic Islamic education. This phenomenon has resulted in the birth of a generation that experiences epistemological confusion, loss of spiritual direction, and is less able to see the relationship between faith and science. Although many integration discourses have been developed, previous studies are still limited to the curriculum level or are merely conceptual, without reaching the implementation aspect in the classroom. This study aims to explore and formulate a model for integrating science and religious values in Islamic Religious Education learning, with an approach based on tauhidic epistemology. The study was conducted using a qualitative research method through a library research approach to several relevant primary literatures, including scientific journals, academic books, dissertations, and Islamic education curriculum documents. The results of the study show that an integrative approach allows Islamic Religious Education learning to be more contextual, scientific, and spiritual at the same time. Teachers who apply this integration not only convey religious doctrine, but also foster students' scientific awareness by linking Islamic teachings and natural phenomena reflectively and argumentatively. The concept of tauhid is the main framework in bridging faith and reason, and building harmony between revelation and empiricism. This study concludes that the model of integration of science and religious values in Islamic Religious Education not only enriches the learning approach, but also strengthens the character of students as faithful and knowledgeable people. Practical implications include the development of cross-subject curriculum, integrative teacher training, and project-based learning with spiritual values. The main contribution of this study is the preparation of an integrative approach that is applicative, not just normative. These findings are relevant to Islamic education journals and can be a reference for the development of modern, contextual, and transformative Islamic pedagogy.

Abstract

This research article discussed the acquisition of English as a second language in 8-year-old children through YouTube media. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were an 8-year-old child named Afnan, and his mother, Rantika. Data collection techniques included observation, non-formal interview, and library research. The results showed that; 1) Afnan's second language acquisition process is almost the same as his first language acquisition process. 2) YouTube is proven to promote language development, cross-cultural learning, and motivation in an authentic second language learning environment. Through the medium of YouTube, Afnan is able to communicate in English after being exposed to English channels since the age of 2 years old. His mother deliberately introduced English to Afnan because she believes that it is important to master English from an early age. Therefore, this study also highlights the importance of second language acquisition during the golden age of children, where human absorption and memory are more optimal.

Abstract

Language plays a fundamental role in all aspects of human life, from the moment one wakes up to the time one closes their eyes at night. By nature, humans are social beings who interact through communication, and language in communication tends to vary, as seen in the speech community of Tanjung Village. Linguistic variation within a speech community reflects the social background, cultural context, and the dynamics of interaction between speakers and their interlocutors. This study, through a sociolinguistic lens, aims to describe the sociolect variations present in the utterances of the Tanjung Village community, highlighting the interconnection between language and the structure of social dynamics. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, and data were collected through observation. The data consist of utterances by various members of the community, including adults, teenagers, the elderly, and housewives. The primary source of data is the speech of local residents, gathered using the participatory observation, technique (Simak Bebas Libat Cakap), with the basic technique of tapping (sadap) supported with note-taking as an advanced technique. Data analysis is presented using an informal method. The results reveal the presence of diverse social language variations, including 3 acrolects, 5 basilects, 5 vulgar forms, 20 slang terms, 15 colloquialisms, 16 jargon terms, 11 argots, and 3 kens. These findings underscore the link between language and the dynamic social structure of the community, while also emphasizing the importance of preserving local linguistic forms.

Abstract

The phenomenon of quarter-life crisis (QLC) among final-year students has become an increasingly important issue in developmental psychology studies, considering that the transition to the workforce and adulthood is often accompanied by complex psychosocial pressures. This research aims to systematically examine the role of social support, career decision-making, and resilience towards QLC through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on 16 scientific articles published between 2018 and 2024 and indexed in reputable databases such as Scopus and ScienceDirect. The analysis was conducted with the help of VOSviewer software to map the relationships between keywords and main themes. The study results indicate that social support and maturity in career decisions contribute to reducing QLC pressure, while resilience proves to be an important mediator in helping students adapt psychologically. Bibliometric visualisation identifies two dominant approaches in the literature, namely psychosocial (focusing on mental health and study-to-work transitions) and reflective-spiritual (value-based and meaning of life). These findings emphasise the value of developing holistic campus interventions based on positive psychology to strengthen the resilience of final-year students in facing life transitions
