Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to analyze 21st century students skill in lecture of Engineering and Laboratory Management in Biology Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training University of Riau. This research is a descriptive research with population of all students who take the subjects of Engineering and Management Laboraturium academic year 2014/2015. The sample of the study was determined by total sampling technique based on qualitative and quantitative data, the data source came from the primary data. Primary data obtained from questionnaire with the number of respondents 88 students. The parameters used are 5 elements of 21st century skills consisting of digital age literacy, inventive thinking, effective communication, high productivity and spiritual/pure values associated with the lectures of Engineering and Laboratory Management. The data collection instruments used in this research are closed questionnaire and open questionnaire. Data analysis technique used is descriptive technique. The results of the analysis of research data indicate that 21st century skills of students who take the Engineering and Management courses of Laboraturium include good category with an average of 3.91. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that students who take the course of Engineering and Management Laboraturium able to face the challenges of the 21st century. Key Words: 21st Century Skills, Engineering and Laboraturium Management Lectures, profiles

Abstract

Has conducted research to determine the professional skills of the 21st century science in the district Tualang, Siak Sri Indrapura district in August-September 2013. Determined in consideration of the study sample, the science teacher who taught in class VII Academic Year 2012-2013 as many as 35 teachers from 13 junior high. The research instrument was a questionnaire using a scale covered by the linker. The data analyzed in the frequency, tabulated and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that Min digital age literacy scores of 4.31 (very good). The highest value of 4.63 (very good) that science gathers knowledge from a variety of sources and the lowest value of 3.83 (good) to collect the necessary information science. Literacy effective communication 4.30 (very good), the highest score of 4.66 cooperating (very good) and the lowest value of each act as a leader and member with the value of 3.89 (good) and 3.80 (both) that emotion if not respected. Constraints of women educators in implementing science skills namely: 1) searching for information science skills, 2) skills to act as leaders and members, and 3) the skills to control emotions if not respected.Keyword: science skills, digital age literacy, effective communication, female science teacher educators.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research has been conducted on the implementation of cooperative learning model of type Time Token to enhance the activity and student learning outcomes Biology class 32 Pekanbaru VIII3 SMP 2011/2012 school year from July to September 2011. Student activity is an activity or behavior that occur during the learning process which is one indicator of the desire of students to learn. Learning outcomes is the embodiment of the values obtained students through the learning process. Research subjects were 32 students in grade VIII3 SMP Pekanbaru, amounting to 36 students, consisting of 21 male students and 15 female students. The parameters of this study is student activity and learning outcomes. Average student activity increasedat each cycle, the cycle I pretty category (76.6%) whereas in the second cycle category of both (83.84%). Average student activity also increased in each indicator is the indicator to readtextbooks, answer questions, provide feedback, and conduct discussions. The average increase student learning outcomes, this can be seen from the results of absorption and completeness of individual student learning. Absorptive capacity of students was increasing at eachcycle, the cycle I pretty category (75.41%) while in the second cycle of either category (80.27%). Award at the group I with predicate super cycle is obtained in group I, while in the secondcycle with the predicate obtained super group III. From the research results can be concluded that with the implementation of cooperative learning model of type Time Token can increase the activity and learning outcomes VIII3 grade Biology students SMPN 32 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Cooperative Learning Model Time Token Type, Learning Activities and Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Melinjo seeds (Gnetum gnemon L.) have many benefits, that it is necessary to know its morphological and anatomical characters. This study aimed to determine differences in morphological characters and anatomical development of melinjo seeds at four seed maturity stages. The morphological observation was carried out based on the quantitative and organoleptic characteristics of the melinjo seeds: outer envelope, size, and the color of the middle envelope. Seed development was anatomically observed in slides prepared with a non-embedding method using a sliding microtome then observed through a microscope. The outer seed envelope has a green to blackish-red color in the final stage, while the seed middle envelope has a light-brown to dark-brown in the final stage. The inner seed envelope is thin, non-rigid, and attached on the outside of the endosperm. The seeds' length ranges from ±1,5 cm until ±2,25 cm at the end-stage; seeds width are 1 cm – 1,18 cm; seeds diameter are 1 cm – 1,16 cm. The anatomical development showed tissue thickening and differentiation. The middle envelope is getting thicker: 318,84 μm to 397,29 μm. Endosperm tissue cells undergo cell compaction as the seeds ripen. At the same time, embryonic tissue differentiation forms hypocotyl, epicotyl, and cotyledon.

Abstract

  The research done to know bacteria type capable to fasten heavy metal lead (Pb) at sediment in territorial water of Siak River  Research procedure consist o f three phase that is; (1) Intake o f sediment sampel by purposive sampling random; (2) Isolation by grow sediment sampel at medium of Zobell 2216 E added with  PbNO3 and  of  Pb(CH3COOH)2 ;  (3)  Total  count  of  bacteria  and  identification  pursuant  to morphology form and biochemical test which cover; colony form, colony colour, colony size measure, cell form, coloration of gram, test katalase, test oksidase and  methyl red  Result of research indicate that total count of bacteria fastener o f heavy metal of lead (Pb) at sediment in territorial water o f Siak River range from 3,0 X  107 until  1,5 X  10s cell/ml and identified 6 bacterium type fastener of heavy metal of lead  (Pb)  that  is:  Micrococcuc,  Corynebacterium,  Phenylobacterium,  Enhydrobacter,  Morrcoccuss, Flavobacterium.   Key words : Bacteria fastener of heavy metal of lead ( Pb), identification, sediment

Abstract

ABSTRACT At this time in the learning that is applied in sekolahan most aspects of critical thinking skills of students less become the center of attention by the teacher as well as with aspects of cognitive style of students. This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills of cognitive-style students on biology learning through learning model of Circuit Learning with Visual media. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII-B MTS SYI'AR ISLAM Maibit Rengel consisting of 15 students of cognitive impulsive style, 11 students of accurate cognitive style, 4 students of reflective style, 2 cognitive-style students slowly inaccurate. This study is a descriptive study with the subject of the respiratory system. Critical thinking skills data were obtained from the critical thinking test sheet from Ennis's critical thinking skills indicator and cognitive style data obtained from cognitive style tests referring to the Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) cognitive style instrument developed by Warli (2010). From the results of data analysis, students with cognitive style accurately have a higher critical thinking ability compared with other cognitive-style students. Thus it can beconcluded that there are differences about students' critical thinking skills in accordance with the cognitive style possessed by students through the application ofCircuitLearning model on biology learning. Keywords: Critical Thinking, Cognitive Style, Learning Circuit Learning Model, and Visual Media.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the Litter Production of The Rumbio Traditional Forest Bans Kampar District in September and November 2014. This research was carried out by measurement of litter production. Litter production research conducted by using stratified random sampling survey, where there are 3 topography that valley, sloping and hilly. Each topography consists of 3 Litter trap with a size of 1x1 meters and is taken from the litter Litter trap container every 2 weeks for 2 months of the study. The parameters observed dropping litter composition of leaves, twigs, flowers and fruits. Abstract

The research has been carried out that aimed to analyze the student’s scientific in attitude of Biology Education in Education and Teaching Faculty Of Riau University in lecturing of Plant Ecology academic year 2012/2013. This research is a descriptive study conducted on March 25, 2013 until May 11, 2013. The samples in this study were students of Biology Education in Education and Teoching of Riau University that attended in Plant Ecology, amounting to 54 people. The parameter in this study is a scientific attitude with indicator curiosity, discipline, responsibility, and cooperativity on. The results showed that the average scores of students in the scientific attitude delivery of content lecturus was 79.44% (both categories), in discussion groups 85.67% (excellent category) and the practical implementation of 86.05% (excellent category). For in dicators curiosity 82.9%, 87.73% discipline, responsibility 84.73%, 87.67% conscientious, cooperative87.05% all indicators were categorized very well. From these results it can be concluded that the scientific attitude of students in lectures Plant Ecology excellent academic year 2012/2013.Keywords: Plant Ecology Lectures, scientific attitude of students

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Do research on the effectiveness of the addition of chitosan mengetaui shells on the quality of salted mackerel (Rastrelliger sp) to draft a student worksheet that was conducted in April and May 2016. The study was carried out by two phases: the field research and resistant design student worksheet (LKS ). Research experiments were conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial, consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replicates in order to obtain 15 units of the experimental design. The observed parameters including moisture content, protein content, fat content and organoleptic value which include appearance, aroma, taste and texture. The results showed that the addition of shrimp shell chitosan significant effect on water content, protein content and fat content in the salted mackerel (Rastrelliger sp). Where to lower the moisture content of up to 9.545%, fat content up to 1,543% and can also increase the protein content of up to 48.905%. While hendonik organoleptic test appearance and taste of the most favored panelist on the addition of 3% chitosan concentration, aroma on chitosan 2% and while the texture preferred chitosan panelist at 4%. Results from the study are used as a design student worksheet (LKS) on the subjects of biology in high school. Key words: Chitosan, Salted Mackerel Fish, Student Worksheet.

Abstract

There have been studies to determine the application of the learning model ofProblem Based Learning (PBL) to the scientific attitude of students in learningbiology class XI IPA SMAN 4 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2013/2014. This study wasconducted in May 2014 with a sample of students of class XI IPA 1 (grade control) bythe number of students 33 and XI IPA 4 (experimental class) by the number ofstudents 32. The parameters used in the study of critical attitude, honest, open,conscientious and earnest. Collecting data using a scientific attitude observation sheet.Average scientific attitude in the experimental class was 84.39% in both categories,while the control class with 40.69% less category. Based on the research results, it canbe concluded that there are differences between the scientific attitude of studentsusing the experimental class learning model PBL in the learning process incomparison with the control class learning using lecture and discussion.Keywords: Scientific Attitudes, High School Senior, Problem Based Learning (PBL)
