Abstract

Industrial disputes are inevitable in any workforce, and mediators play a critical role in resolving conflicts between workers and employers, ensuring fairness and peaceful resolution. However, despite their significant function, the effectiveness of industrial dispute mediators often faces challenges related to competence, independence, and institutional support. This study aims to explore how the role of mediators can be optimized to improve professionalism and efficiency in resolving industrial disputes. Utilizing a qualitative approach, including literature studies and analysis of relevant laws and regulations, the study identifies key factors affecting the mediator’s performance. It finds that strengthening mediators' capacities, enhancing their integrity, and modernizing the mediation system are essential to improving the effectiveness of dispute resolution. The implications of these findings suggest that improving mediator training, ensuring greater independence, and updating legal frameworks will create a more effective and reliable mediation process, fostering better industrial relations. This approach will not only enhance the mediator's role but also contribute to more harmonious relationships between workers and employers, benefiting both parties and society at large.

Abstract

The state offers its inhabitants social health security as a type of legal protection to guarantee their welfare and access to quality medical care. Law Number 40 of 2004 about the National Social Security System (SJSN) and Law Number 24 of 2011 concerning the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) are two of the legislation that govern Indonesia's social health security system. This rule highlights that all citizens are entitled to equitable and fair social protection in the health sector. However, in its implementation, various challenges arise, such as the BPJS Kesehatan budget deficit, limited access to health services in remote areas, and participant compliance in paying contributions. Therefore, a study of the legal concept in the regulation of national social health security is critical to understand the basic principles underlying this system and the effectiveness of its regulation in practice. This study uses a normative juridical method, which focuses on the laws and regulations governing national social health security in Indonesia. The approaches used include a statute approach to analyze applicable legal norms, a conceptual approach to explore the legal concepts underlying the social health security system, and a historical approach to see the development of related regulations. With this method, the study examines the legal basis, legal principles underlying national social health security, and challenges in implementing existing regulations. This study is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the legal aspects of regulating social health security in Indonesia and recommend strengthening future policies.

Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) in the digital era has brought significant changes in financial services, providing easy access and efficiency for consumers. However, behind the benefits offered, there are various legal challenges related to consumer protection, including the risk of misuse of personal data, online fraud, and unclear dispute resolution mechanisms. Regulations governing the fintech sector are still evolving to adapt to the dynamics of rapidly changing technology. Therefore, it is vital to analyze how legal protection for consumers in the fintech sector in Indonesia is implemented and how existing regulations can provide legal certainty for the community. This research employs a normative juridical methodology that combines a conceptual and statutory approach. The Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE), Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, and other regulations of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia pertaining to the fintech ecosystem in Indonesia were among the pertinent regulations that were analyzed. This study also looks at regulatory developments in the digital age and legal theories pertaining to consumer protection in electronic transactions. This study uses a normative legal approach to better understand the legal protections for consumers in fintech transactions and to pinpoint implementation issues. It is anticipated that the study would help create policies that are more adaptive to technological developments and provide recommendations for more effective legal policies in protecting consumers in the fintech era.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze community participation, supporting and inhibiting factors, and activities within the context of community-based development in Malinau Regency. Additionally, the study aims to identify and propose a more effective model of community participation in community-based development in Malinau Regency, North Kalimantan Province. The research is grounded in the participation theory proposed by Cohen and Uphoff (1977). A qualitative research method with a descriptive approach was employed. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that community participation in community-based development activities in Malinau Regency is generally robust. Regarding inhibiting factors, the social aspect highlights the need to enhance residents’ capacity and awareness. In terms of culture, the study underscores the importance of maintaining values of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) and customary inclusiveness. Economically, issues such as poverty and the need for improved funding mechanisms persist. Politically, there is a call for consistent government commitment and the strengthening of two-way aspiration flow between stakeholders. Geographically, the conditions of the 3T (terdepan, terluar, tertinggal—frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped regions) continue to exert significant influence. The model of community participation in community-based development in Malinau Regency has proven effective due to its comprehensive and contextual approach. The three principal components—driving factors, participatory processes, and integrated outcomes/impacts—collectively establish a dynamic and people-centered development mechanism.

Abstract

Amidst the rapid development of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the acceleration of digitalization, Vocational High Schools in Indonesia face important challenges in preparing graduates who are skilled, flexible, and ready to enter the ever-changing world of work. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) at SMK Negeri 2 Tenggarong through the Total Quality Management (TQM) approach and the integration of the link-and-match concept with the industrial sector. Using a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data was collected from 67 teachers through questionnaires, while qualitative data was gathered through semi-structured interviews with 8 key informants. The results indicate that teachers' understanding of the CBC concept is classified as very good, but its implementation still faces challenges in training, infrastructure, and industrial partnerships. The transformational leadership of the school principal and the application of the PDCA cycle have been shown to play a vital role in driving continuous improvement. Furthermore, the limitations of facilities and the lack of optimal industrial involvement in curriculum planning are the main obstacles.

Abstract

Cirebon City, with its diverse culinary and cultural richness, stands as a potential culinary tourism destination due to the uniqueness of its specialties, such as empal gentong, nasi jamblang, and tahu gejrot, which attract both local and foreign tourists. This study explores the influence of food vlogger @makanbarengading’s Instagram Reels content in cultivating culinary tourism interest in Cirebon City. As digital media increasingly shapes consumer behavior—especially among millennials and Gen Z—visual content such as short-form videos has become a powerful tool for destination promotion. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research analyzes the thematic elements, visual strategies, and engagement metrics of selected Reels posted by @makanbarengading. The findings indicate that well-curated food content showcasing local Cirebon delicacies, combined with narrative authenticity and visual aesthetics, significantly attracts viewers and encourages culinary exploration. Furthermore, the strategic use of Instagram features such as location tagging, trending audio, and call-to-action captions enhances audience interest and interaction. This study underscores the role of digital influencers as key agents in tourism promotion and provides insights for stakeholders in Cirebon’s tourism and food sectors to optimize their social media strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the legal strength of separating joint marital assets (harta bersama) for the establishment of a yayasan (foundation) under Indonesian law. The primary focus is on the legality and validity of asset separation in situations where one spouse allocates a portion of the jointly acquired property (harta bersama) to form a yayasan without obtaining prior consent from the other spouse. Employing a normative juridical approach, supported by statutory, case, and doctrinal analysis, this research analyzes the relevant legal framework, including Undang-Undang Perkawinan No. 1 Tahun 1974 (Marriage Law), Undang-Undang Yayasan No. 16 Tahun 2001 (as amended), and pertinent judicial decisions. The findings indicate that unilateral separation of joint assets (harta bersama) can be subject to legal challenge, particularly when such actions infringe upon the principle of equal rights (kesetaraan hak) of both spouses over shared property. The establishment of a yayasan using harta bersama requires mutual agreement (persetujuan bersama) to prevent potential legal disputes and to ensure the legitimacy of the foundation’s legal standing. This study underscores the necessity for legal certainty and spousal consent (persetujuan suami-istri) in the management of assets for philanthropic purposes, in accordance with the prevailing legal doctrines and statutory provisions.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) remains a major infectious disease in children, particularly in developing countries. Post-TB pulmonary complications, such as pneumothorax, giant bullae, and bronchiectasis, can significantly impair respiratory function over time. This case report highlights a 17-year-old girl with a history of BTA-positive pulmonary TB who developed pneumothorax, giant bullae, varicose bronchiectasis, and centrilobular emphysema. After completing OAT therapy in August 2024, she underwent VATS, bulectomy, and wedge resection due to persistent lung abnormalities. Thoracic CT imaging revealed extensive lung damage, including bronchiectasis and bullae. Currently, the patient is stable and asymptomatic. This case emphasizes the importance of early detection and comprehensive management of post-TB bronchiectasis in pediatric patients. Timely intervention can improve prognosis, especially given the high regenerative capacity of children's lungs. Early recognition of complications and appropriate treatment are crucial to prevent long-term respiratory impairment in children recovering from pulmonary TB.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of lean practices and just-in-time (JIT) practices on the competitive advantage of Indonesian manufacturing companies, with time-to-market speed as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using data from 150–200 respondents and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via AMOS. The results show that lean practices significantly influence competitive advantage and accelerate time-to-market. Time-to-market speed serves as a significant mediator between lean and competitive advantage. Conversely, while JIT has a direct positive effect on competitive advantage, its impact on time-to-market is insignificant. This study is limited by its sample size and geographic focus, which may affect the generalizability of the findings to other regions or industries outside the Indonesian manufacturing sector. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening lean practices in the Indonesian manufacturing context and emphasize the need for system readiness to implement JIT effectively. This study contributes to the existing literature by examining time-to-market as a mediating variable and by providing empirical insights into how lean and JIT practices influence competitive advantage in an emerging market context.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how symbolic interaction shapes the personalities of characters in the 5 Panca Wanda Mask performance. The purpose of this study is to determine the characters and dance styles in 5 Panca Wanda Mask, and to educate the people of Cirebon to know that the Mask Dance was created in order to spread Islam. By relying on George Herbert Mead's symbolic interaction theory and Sugiyono's qualitative approach, we try to understand how the symbols in the masks reflect the stages of human personality development. In 5 Panca Wanda Mask, there are five characters Panji, Samba, Rumyang, Tumenggung, and Kelana, each of which symbolizes a different phase of life, from babies, children, teenagers, to adults. Their characters are depicted through facial expressions, colors, movements, and the way they interact on stage. As a result, this performance reflects the process of individual identity formation as explained by Mead, namely the stages of imitation, play, and group play. Symbols in masks are not only a means of communication, but also shape people's understanding of a person's role and existence. So, this study opens up insight into how traditional performing arts can be a reflection of the process of social interaction that shapes human personality.
