Abstract

The diversity of Walat Mountain Educational Forest is not only fauna but also very rich of various kinds of flora such as several kinds of medicinal plants.  This research was aimed study the variety of secretory structure and histochemistry of three kinds of medicinal plants found in of Walat Mountain Educational Forest.  Plant materials used  were billy-goat weed (Ageratum conyzoides), balakacida (Mikania cordata), and  monyenyen (Erigeron linifolius).The medicinal plant leaves were made into paradermal and transversal sections, then secretory structures were observed,  and the histochemistry of terpenoid, alkaloid, phenol and oil compounds was tested. The results of this research on adaxial and abaxial billy-goat weed leaves were found multicellular glandular trichome and peltate type glandular trichome. Besides, oil drops were also found on billy-goat weed palisade tissue.  On adaxial and abaxial bakalacida leaves were found multicellular glandular trichome type 1 and type 2, andpeltate type glandular trichome.  Moreover on adaxial and abaxial monyenyen leaves were found multicellular glandular trichome type 1 and type 2.  The results of histochemical test on billy-goat weed were the multicellular glandular  trichome did not contain terpenoid, alkaloid, phenol, and oil compounds, while on peltate type glandular trichome was positive to terpenoid.  Both types of multicellular glandular  trichomes on balalakacida plant were positive to terpenoid, alkaloid, and oil compounds, except phenol.  Whereas peltate type glandular trchome was positive to alkaloid, phenol, and oil compounds, except terpenoid.  Histochemical test results on both types of multicellular glandular trichomes of monyenyen plant were positive to terpenoid and oil compounds.Keywords: secretory structure,  histochemical tests, glandular trichome

Abstract

Implementation of the learning process at SMAN 1 KEREK still uses conventional approach based learning. Learning methods such as lectures and question and answer still apply to the school. If this conventional approach-based learning is still applied in the modern era, it is feared that it will affect student's learning outcomes with 65% of the learning completeness score and KKM (70) which means that KKM has not reached the value of KKM. The currently used Student Worksheet is still simple in terms of materials, drawings and language used, so the need for the development of Student Worksheet (LKS) based on the Scientific Approach.In this environmental change and waste recycling materials LKS development uses Borg and Gall development methods. The purpose of this research is to find out the result of validity test of Student Worksheet based on scientific approach on environmental change and waste recycling materials and to improve student learning result SMAN 1 KEREK. The instrument used for this research is the questionnaire. Validity test results obtained from media experts with an average value of 83.1%, and from material experts obtained an average of 84% with criteria very valid and fit to be used as teaching aids, thus from the validity test results can be concluded that product development of Student Worksheet (LKS) based on biological approaches scientifically feasible to use and able to improve student learning outcomes SMAN 1 KEREK.

Abstract

The objectives of this research is to improve the skills of students interpreting data of class XI IPA 4in teaching and learning process at biology subject with materials of human excretory system. The result of the observations for each skill’s indicator of data interpretation was less than < 30% showed a lack of the students’ data interpretation skill, so it is needed a learning model that accommodates interpreting data. The interpretation skill can be trained through experiment activity. One of the learning model that accommodates experiment is guided inquiry learning model. The method of data collection is through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research data was the students’ score that indicate the activity of data interpretationbased on Harlen. The results of the implementation of guided inquiry learning model inhuman exretory system material showed an increase of students’activity in interpreting data for each indicator. The average score of interpreting data at the first cycle reaches more than 50% and improve at second cycle more than 75%. Based on the result of the research, can be concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry learning model inhuman exretory system material is able to improve students’ interpretation data skill, although the improvement were varied in each interpretation data indicators.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari kondisi dalam menumbuhkan  kultur Alteromonas luteoviolaceus dan mengisolasi DNA genomiknya sebagai langkah awal dalam penelitian dengan tema Identifikasi Gen Halogenase dari A. luteoviolaceus Penghasil Antibiotik Penta-brompseudilin Secara Hibridisasi. Penelitian ini bersifat eksploratif dengan disain penelitian faktor tunggal yang dianalisis secara kualitatif. Penumbuhan  A. Luteoviolaceus dilakukan dalam medium M1+ yang dimodifikasi dan dalam Difco Marine Broth 2216. Isolasi DNA genom A. luteoviolaceous dengan dua prosedur, yaitu (1) dengan prosedur salting out (Pospiech and Neuman, 1995) dan (2)  dengan  prosedur Kirby mix dari (Hopwood et al.,1985). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa marine bakteri A. luteoviolaceous dapat ditumbuhkan dalam medium M1+ modifikasi pada 27-30oC selama 2-7 hari sedangkan dalam Marine Broth 2216 pada hari ke 3 terjadi penurunan pertumbuhan. Pertumbuhan dapat dipercepat dengan meletakkan spiral pada dasar Erlenmeyer yang digunakan. Isolasi DNA genom Actinoplane sp berhasil dilakukan dengan prosedur Kirby mix yang kulturnya ditumbuhkan dalam medium cair M1+ modifikasi selama maksimum 2 hari. Dengan waktu inkubasi lebih dari 2 hari DNA genom tersebut sulit diperoleh. Meskipun dengan waktu inkubasi sampai 2 hari DNA genom juga tidak diperoleh jika diisolasi dengan prosedur salting out. Isolasi DNA genom Actinoplane sp juga tidak memperoleh hasil bila ditumbuhkan pada Difco Marine Broth 2216 selama 2 hari baik dengan prosedur salting out maupun Kirby mix.

Abstract

Penganekaragaman Pangan merupakan upaya meningkatkan Ketersediaan Pangan yang beragam dan berbasis pada potensi sumber daya lokal untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Penganekaragaman pangan salah satunya dilakukan melalui pengembangan diversifikasi usaha tani dan perikanan. Pengembangan dari salah satu sektor saja tentunya membutuhkan lahan yang lebih luas, padahal saat ini ketersediaan lahan di berbagai daerah semakin berkurang. Hal ini terjadi karena peralihan fungsi lahan yang banyak digunakan untuk industri dan perumahan. Kebutuhan bahan pokok pangan, seperti beras sebagai sumber karbohidrat terus meningkat sejalan dengan peningkatan jumlah penduduk. Selain itu kebutuhan ikan sebagai sumber protein juga semakin tinggi sejalan dengan meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pemenuhan gizinya. Untuk itu perlu adanya inovasi teknologi yang dapat mengakomodasi kedua jenis kebutuhan tersebut, dengan salah satu caranya yaitu penerapan minapadi. Penelitian deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keuntungan-keuntungan yang didapatkan dalam penerapan minapadi dibandingkan dengan non minapadi berdasarkan literatur dan penelitian-penelitian terdahulu.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara dengan wilayah perairan lebih besar daripada wilayah daratan. Oleh sebab itu, komoditas perikanan merupakan salah satu komoditi ekspor terbesar di Indonesia. Salah satu komoditas perikanan Indonesia yaitu cumi-cumi. Pada umumnya pemanfaatan cumi-cumi hanya dagingnya, sedangkan bagian cangkang internalnya tidak terpakai dan menjadi limbah. Cangkang internal ini dapat diekstrak menjadi kitosan. Kitosan merupakan polimer yang bisa digunakan sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengekstrak kitosan dari cangkang internal cumi-cumi dan menguji aktivitas antibakteri kitosan cangkang internal cumi-cumi (Loligo sp.) terhadap bakteri S. aureus dan E. coli. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 3 perlakuan dan 2 kali pengulangan. Metode pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan paper disk diffusion method dengan konsentrasi 0%, 1% dan 2%, kemudian diinkubasi selama 24 jam. Kitosan dari cangkang internal cumi-cumi menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri S. aureus dan E. coli.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kategori kekayaan jenis, keanekaragaman, serta dominansi tumbuhan penutup tanah (lower crop community) yang terdapat di wilayah Kesatuan Pemangku Hutan (KPH) Telawa, Jawa Tengah.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di beberapa lokasi di bawah kesatuan pemangku hutan (KPH) Telawa meliputi daerah bebas (free area) dalam kawasan 3 Resort Polisi Hutan (RPH) yaitu RPH Juranggandul, RPH Karengan, dan RPH Rejosari . Jumlah titik pada masing – masing RPH adalah : Juranggandul 360 titik, Karengan 220 titik, Rejosari 148 titik. Pada masing-masing titik sampling dilakukan plotting dengan metode kuadrat. Pada tiap-tiap plot dilakukan pendataan jumlah spesies dan jumlah individu tiap spesies. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis penghitungan indeks kekayaan jenis formula Margalef, indeks diversitas formula Shanon Wiever dan Indeks dominansi formula Simpson. Berdasarkan perhitungan, pada RPH Juranggandul diperoleh hasil indeks kekayaan  = 7.719044296, indeks diversitas = 1.974240716, indeks dominansi = 0,23. Pada RPH Karengan diperoleh hasil indeks kekayaan = 9.14. indeks diversitas = 1.99. indeks dominansi adalah = 0,12. Pada RPH Rejosari diperoleh hasil indeks kekayaan = 7.55. indeks diversitas = 2.67 indeks dominansi = 0,09. Berdasarkan analisis perhitungan nilai indeks tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa vegetasi LCC di 3 RPH Telawa memiliki kategori kekayaan jenis baik, keanekaragaman tinggi, dan didominasi oleh satu species.Keywords: Diversitas, Tumbuhan Penutup Tanah, Telawa

Abstract

Jalur hijau jalan merupakan salah satu ruang terbuka hijau pada suatu perkotaan.Salah satu fungsi jalur hijau jalan adalah untuk lahan tanaman penyerap karbon.Pohon Asam Jawa (Tamarindus indica) merupakan jenis tanaman produktif yang memiliki fungsi penyerap karbon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menduga cadangan karbonsuatu hasil permodelan penanaman pada jalur hijau jalan Kabupaten Rembang.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2017.Metode yang digunakan berupa simulasi perhitungan dan model allometrik.Metode simulasi perhitungan digunakan untuk mengetahui potensi ketersediaan lahan di sepanjang jalur hijau jalan.Metode perhitungan cadangan karbon dilakukan dengan nondestructive sampling yaitu dengan menggunakan model allometrik untuk jenis pohon Asam Jawa. Penerapan permodelan ini dapat menghasilkan dugaan nilai cadangan karbon tersimpan berkisar antara 0,738 Ton/Ha hingga 146,663 Ton/Ha.Dapat disimpulkan bahwa jalur hijau jalan memiliki potensi pemanfaatan yang sangat besar terhadap serapan karbon dan seharusnya bisa dimanfaatkan secara optimal

Abstract

Controlled pollination is one of the important activities in a breeding program. This research was aimed to determinate reproductive success and general combining ability of superior individuals of cajuput (Melaleuca cajuputi subsp cajuputi) which having a high oil yield and oil content. The research was conducted during flowering season on December to June in seedling seed orchard of cajuput at Ponorogo. Ten parent trees from 4 provenances, namely Suli (Ambon), Pelita Jaya (Seram), Ponorogo (East Java) and Gundih (Central Java) were used in controlled pollination. Controlled pollination was carried out reciprocally with emasculation and isolation in pollination bag. The results showed that out of 28 crossed combinations, the best effective pollination found at crossing of individuals 25 x 60 (provenance Suli, Ambon x provenance Ponorogo). The best pollen donor was found no 25 from Suli, Ambon. While the best reproductive success was found in crossing individual 78 x 25 (provenance Ponorogo X Provenance Suli, Ambon).

Abstract

Based on observation result in MTs. Tarbiyatul Banin Banat Village Jetak District Montong Tuban on teaching and learning process, especially on grade VII students A science subjects are still conventional lectures that cause the lack of activeness of students in teaching and learning activities so that student learning outcomes are less than optimal. It is feared that student learning outcomes from year to year will decline. The purpose of this study is to find out the improvement of student learning outcomes with the application of Mind Mapping learning model with card media. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) where the parameters measured are the results of student learning, teacher activity, student activity and student responses to the application of learning model Mind Mapping with card media on ecosystem material. Data collection techniques used in the form of observation methods, tests, and questionnaires. Based on the results of research obtained data on the percentage completeness of student learning outcomes classically in the cycle I 58.82%, cycle II 67.65%, and cycle III 88.24%. Percentage of observation of teacher activity cycle I 21%, cycle II 26%, and cycle III 29%. Percentage of observations of student activity cycle I 20%, cycle II 23%, and cycle III 30%. Results of student response data obtained data that 97.06% expressed as a positive response given by students. From the research result, it can be concluded that learning by applying Mind Mapping learning model with card media can improve student learning result, teacher activity, student activity and student response, and can be used as a reference in improving students quality in learning process through Mind Mapping learning model with media card.
