Abstract

The research aims to know about the characteristic, advisability, and effectiveness of Pedagogy Spesific Subject (PSS) equipment based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) to reinforce the students environmental literacy of X science class in senior high school. The researcher used the Research and Development method (R&D). Design of research was using the 3-D model, which was modified from 4-D model Thiagarajan & Stolovich. This research model consists of define, design and develop. The data analysis consists of needs analysis, validation analysis, limited tryout test analysis, subject test analysis, and environmental literacy analysis used the normality test, homogeneity test and non paired sample’s t-Test was helped by SPSS 21 program. The research gives three kinds of result. First, the characteristic of PSS equipment based on PjBL was intregated with NEP dimention and the learning model of PjBL. PSS equipment that was developed is module, lesson plan, student worksheet and evaluation questions. Second, the evidence of validation from expert judgement, substance expert, grammarian, design expert and biology teacher showed that 94,04% in lesson plan (valid), 97,5% in student worksheet (valid), 91,54% in module (valid) and 98,75% in evaluation questions (valid). The result of limited tryout test was 86,6% in module (valid) and 82,5% in student worksheet (valid). The evidence of subject test was 89,9% in module (valid) and 82,5% in student worksheet (valid). Based on validation test results, PSS equipment based on PjBL was valid and can be implemented in biology learning. Third, there were significant differences in student environmental literacy. The result of non paired sample’s t-Test showed that environmental literacy consists of knowledge, attitude and concern aspect have a smaller significance level than ∝(sig.< 0,05), it means that PSS equipment based on PjBL was effective to reinforce students environmental literacy.

Abstract

Biotechnology applications as learning life skills can be applied in practice making nata de coco. This study aims to determine mastery of Nata de Coco manufacture as learning life skills in students, especially mastery Academic life skills and Social Life skils in biotechnology practical activities. In addition to the practicum students are able to create fermentation-based food products are good quality coconut water from the material. The results obtained in this study shows that the majority of students have mastery Academic life skills are good views of the percentage performance indicators Academic life skills. As for the Social Life skils student mastery has excellent views of the overall performance indicators with a percentage of more than 80%. With these results it is concluded that students can foster interest in and to improve skills in making and creating a fermentation-based food products are good quality coconut water from the material.Keywords: Biotechnology, nata de coco,learning life skills

Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Based learning is kind of model in learning helps students to find problem from a real situation or science have the character of theoretical. Abstract

This study aims to find out how far students are able to apply the SETS approach on inquiry-based IPA learning. Through the SETS approach students are conditioned to be willing and able to apply the science principles to produce technological work followed by thoughts to reduce or prevent possible negative impacts that may arise from the emergence of this technology product to the environment and society based on the principle of inquiry. This SETS application is about scientific thinking so it is expected to improve scientific thinking science. In this class action research, the data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. Qualitative descriptive analysis is done by interactive analysis. Analysis of scientific thinking through multiple cycles. While the analysis of qualitative description with interactive analysis consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion is done in an interactive form with data collection as a cycle process. The results showed pre cycle 28,44%, then at cycle I 52,33%, and at cycle II 80,33% which mean SETS approach able to improve student's scientific thinking. There is a positive response to students with SETS approach means that science learning with hands-on experience can make students think critically in solving a problem.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Permasalahan mendasar dalam sistem pendidikan di Indonesia terutama pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) adalah belum mampu menghasilkan kualitas SDM yang mempu bersaing dengan bangsa lain. Kualitas yang rendah ini ditandai dengan rendanya keterserapan lulusan di dunia industri sehingga mengakibatkan bertambahnya jumlah pengangguran dimana yang terbanyak ada pada lulusan SMA. Berdasarkan permasalahan terse-but, diperlukan upaya untuk membekali kemampuan pada siswa agar dapat hidup dan bersa-ing di dunia kerja salah satunya melalui pelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis kecakapan hidup (life skill). Pelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis kecakapan hidup dapat dilakukan dengan mengintegrasikan aspek-aspek kecakapan hidup pada mata pelajaran salah satunya Biologi. Permasalahan yang muncul dalam implementasi pembelajaran berbasis kecakapan hidup di-antaranya adalah bagaimana merancang perangkat pembelajaran berbasis kecakapan hidup, bagaimana mengembangkan kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis kecakapan hidup dan bagaimana memahami aspek-aspek kecakapan hidup dalam setiap mata pelajaran serta kesulitan dalam mengintegrasikan setiap aspek-aspek kecakapan hidup dalam setiap pokok materi pelajaran sesuai dengan format yang tersedia.   Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Biologi, kecakapan hidup, life skill

Abstract

So far, the teacher's learning is mostly presented with lecture method and only centered on the teacher, it causes the critical thinking of the students is still very rare in the learning process, besides critical thinking other thing to note is student's cognitive style. Therefore it is necessary to do research about the empowerment of critical thinking in terms of reflective and impulsive cognitive style. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of critical thinking students reflective and impulsive cognitive style through SQ3R learning model (survey, question, read, review, recite) by using Audio Visual media. The subjects of the study were students of class VII-B MTs. Muhammadiyah 3 Sedayulawas amounted to 20 students consisting of 10 students of reflective cognitive style and 10 students of cognitive impulsive style. Technique of collecting data by using test, for data koSo far, the teacher's learning is mostly presented with lecture method and only centered on the teacher, it causes the critical thinking thinking of the students is still very rare in the learning process, besides critical thinking other Thing to note is student's cognitive style. Statistically non-parametric by using Mann-Whitney Test.The results of this study indicate that there are differences in reflective and impulsive students' critical ways of thinking ie impulsive students show higher results from reflective students. Thus it can be concluded that the critical thinking ability of cognitive-impulsive students is higher than in reflective cognitive students in Biology learning through SQ3R model (survey, question, read, review, recite) with Audio Visual media.

Abstract

Jelly fungus (Tremella fuciformis, Berk.) belongs to the basidiomicetes familyor auricularia  familyand into the white fungus species. As an edible mushroom called jelly mushroom, snow fungus, silver mushroom or white jelly it can be made for the basic ingredients of juice drinks, ice cream and porridge mixor soup in addition to efficacy as a medicine and serves as a supplement. Characteristics of fruiting bodies of this fungus in wet water content showed gelatinous (chewy), smooth, elastic, but a conversely it will turn into rigid with curved in a dry state. The fruiting body of T. fuciformis, Berk. Had was isolated from  trembesi wood cross section (Samanea saman, Jacq. Merr.) found around of the Tajur village in Bogor city. The purpose of this study was to determine more closely the growth characteristics of the fruiting bodies by isolating then on solid medium potato dextrose agar (PDA) by the incubation temperature at 15oC. During the incubation period within 3 months there was  no growth of mycelium showen, but  the viability of the growth of the fruiting  body appeared to be still fresh. The fungal growth on a wood as a medium of fungal fruiting bodies naturally produce as much as 375 grams in the harvest period during the next three months. However there will be no fruiting bodies produced afterwards. The cultivation of T. fuciformis, Berk. commercially can be done in sawdust medium in the plastics bag (baglog).

Abstract

The development of social attitude is done as an effort in preparing students to compete for a better future. Good learning outcomes can be obtained through ideal learning. The expected demands in the 2013 curriculum related to social attitudes, it is necessary to be developed, as a means of students to compete in the future. Mastering and developing students' social attitudes is done to help students achieve good learning outcomes. It is hoped that classroom learning integrates these social attitudes. In accordance with the fact that the current biology learning is generally still focused on improving students' cognitive learning outcomes, while developing students' social attitudes has not been done completely This paper is a literature review to analyze the development of students' social attitudes in Biology learning. Based on the results of literature review, it is known that conventional learning model applied can not develop social attitudes maximally. Types of social attitudes include honesty, discipline, attitude of responsibility, tolerance, mutual cooperation, modesty, and self-confidence. Student social attitude is important to develop and possess students in learning, because it is very closely related to aspects that must be mastered by students, in order to achieve the expected learning outcomes. The development of students' social attitudes is very important, especially by educators, in particular. and generally by the Master, through the application of appropriate learning models. Based on the results of relevant research and literature review reveal the potential of cooperative learning model to develop students' social attitudes in classroom learning activities. It is suggested to educators to develop students' social attitudes as well as to promote improved learning outcomes, and social attitudes expected to be held by students as the basic capital for life in the future.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Museum Kereta Api Ambarawa terletak di pusat Ambarawa, satu-satunya museum peninggalan berteknologi kuno di Indonesia yang digunakan sebagai alat transportasi bangsa Indonesia sebelum kemerdekaan sampai tahun 1964. Dalam museum ini terdapat 21 lokomotif uap yang berada di utara dan barat museum, 5 lokomotif uap yang berada di depo 3 diantaranya dapat beroperasi dengan baik, selain itu terdapat pula 3 mesin ketik, 3 mesin hitung, beberapa pesawat telpun dan peralatan kuno lainnya. Museum ini mempunyai nilai historis dari alat transportasi berupa ketel uap yang merupakan implikasi penemuan oleh James Watt. Di tempat ini juga menyediakan paket wisata dengan menumpang kereta api tenaga uap melalui rel yang bergerigi dan kereta lori dengan rute Ambarawa-Bedono Ambarawa-Tuntang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap jumlah kunjungan wisatawan dan mengestimasi modelnya. Teori yang digunakan dalam analisis adalah teori permintaan. Penelitian dilakukan di obyek wisata Museum Kereta Api Ambarawa Kabupaten Semarang dengan 78 responden. Estimasi penelitian diformulasikan dalam bentuk persamaan tunggal (single equation), dengan variabel dependen adalah permintaan pariwisata yang diproksi dengan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan, sedangkan variabel independennya adalah harga pariwisata yang diproksi dengan kemauan membayar (willingness to pay /WTP), harga pariwisata obyek wisata lain yang diproksi dengan WTP obyek wisata lain, pendapatan, biaya perjalanan, biaya perjalanan obyek wisata lain (di luar Kabupaten Semarang), jarak, pendidikan, umur, persepsi daya tarik obyek wisata,  asal wisatawan (wisnus dan wisman),  komunitas, jenis kelamin,   promosi pariwisata,   dan  kunjungan sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel-variabel yang signifikan adalah variabel WTP, WTP_owl, dan  PENDP signifikan pada = 1%; dan BPERJ, PENDI, dan UM  signifikan pada = 5%.dan diperoleh nilai R2 sebesar 0,9774 yang berarti bahwa 97,74% dari variasi variabel jumlah kunjungan wisatawan mampu dijelaskan oleh variasi  (himpunan) variabel WTP, WTP_owl, pendapatan, biaya perjalanan, biaya perjalanan_owl, jarak, pendidikan, umur, persepsi, asal wisatawan, komunitas, jenis kelamin, promosi dan kunjungan sebelumnya. Sedangkan sisanya sebesar 2,26% dari variasi variabel jumlah kunjungan wisatawan dijelaskan oleh variasi faktor-faktor atau variabel-variabel lain di luar model. Dengan nilai R2 yang tinggi yaitu sebesar 97,74%  semakin baik kualitas model, karena semakin dapat menjelaskan hubungan antara variabel dependen dan independen.   Kata kunci:  permintaan, WTP, pendapatan, jumlah kunjungan wisatawan

Abstract

Bakteri probiotik terbukti memiliki peranan yang sama seperti antibiotik dalam menjaga kesehatan inang,bahkan dapat meningkatkan laju produktivitas inang dan tentu saja tanpa menimbulakan efek negatifsebagaimana antibiotik. Bakteri Asam Laktat merupakan salah-satu bakteri probiotik. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk mengisolasi dan karakterisasi Bakteri Asam Laktat dari saluran pencernaan ayam kampung. Penelitianini dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi FMIPA UNESA pada bulan Maret-Mei 2017. Sampel diambil dariusus besar dan usus kecil ayam kampung jantan dan betina yang telah dewasa. Tahapan penelitian meliputi:sterilisasi alat dan bahan, isolasi bakteri, uji katalase, pewarnaan endospora, pearnaan gram, uji MR. Setiapisolat yang diperoleh dilakukan pemurnian sebanyak 5-6 koloni yang berbeda-beda pada masing-masing jeniskoloni yang ditemukan, kemudian dilakukan seleksi kakterisasi Bakteri Asam Laktat. Data diperoleh denganmengidetifikasi masing-masing isolat pada setiap uji. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif, penarikankesimpulan dilakukan dengan menganalisis isolat baktei yang mampu lolos dari setiap uji. Hasil yang diperolehyaitu terdapat 29 isolat bakteri dari 6 jenis koloni yang berpotensi, 15 diantaranya menunjukkan karaktersebagai bakteri asam laktat.
